I am trying to find information regarding my grandmother's family.  Her name was Sarah Dinkins.  Family members also called her "Auntie or Annie" Moss (not sure).  She was born in Charleston, South Carolina.  She married Daniel Cook, who served in WWI.  I believe her mother was Indian and her father or grandfather was a constable.

She had one birth daughter, my mother, whose birth name was Matilda Gaines (also born in Charleston, SC).  My mother later changed her name to Bernice Cook. My grandmother and grandfather owned a house on Meeting Street (a little white house).

Any information would be greatly appreciated

I am searching for Dupre/Duprees with connections to:

     Daniel Warren Dupre (1793-1878)

Palmetto plantation in McClellanville, South Carolina  (1860 - present)

Echaw (Euchaw) plantation that preceded Palmetto and was located several miles up the Santee River in South Carolina(~1790 - 1860)

I am a Northern, white descendent of Dupre interested in finding any blood relatives as well as creating a platform for reconciliation. See http://www.emu.edu/cjp/comingtothetable/index.html for more information about a reconciliation forum started by members of the Jefferson/Hemings family sponsored by Eastern Mennonite University.

Any stories or other information regarding these people or places is most appreciated. Thanks.

My family, the Meadows, are from South Carolina and most of them moved to Maryland.  Some of the family still lives in Maryland.  I have a family website

that maybe helpful, http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/m/e/a/Karen-L-Meadows/.

Thanks, Maureen Toland
