Lucy Mason1

F, #12876, b. October 1860, d. 30 December 1938
Lucy Mason was born in October 1860 in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of George Mason and Lucy Smith.1,2

Lucy Mason married Dudley A. Glenn, son of Jeremiah Glenn and Louisa Ann Yelton, on 22 August 1882 in South Covington, Kentucky. The wedding was reported in some detail by a Cincinnati newspaper:

A charming wedding was the social event of South Covington yesterday. A special train took out a gay company from Covington to Milldale to assist at the ceremony. The bride was Miss Lucy Mason, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mason of South Covington, and the groom Hon. Dudley Glenn, a well known and popular lawyer of Covington, who served his State in the Kentucky Legislature in the sessions of 1877 and 1878.
The day was perfect from dawn till close, and the scene at the picturesque little Episcopal chapel – Trinity – very lovely. The whole interior had been exquisitely decorated with tropical plants, and great vases of brilliant blossoms marked the chancel. The altar was a bank of lowers, and over the heads of the kneeling pair swung a marriage bell of white and rose blossoms. The decorations were arranged by Mrs. John Sears, Mrs. J. M. Sears, Miss Stella Hall, Misses Mary and Annabelle Donogh, Miss Thorpe, and Miss Roe. The ushers were Messrs. E. R. Bryson and Mr. E. C. Kruse, of Cincinnati. The bride, wearing a charming gown of white satin and nun’s veiling, and diamond ornaments, the groom’s gift, entered on the arm of her father, preceded by her attendant, Miss Stella Hall, and the best man, Mr. S. A. Kidd. Miss Hall wore nun’s veiling, with relief of Spanish lace, and her pronounced brunette type was in charming contrast to the blonde loveliness of the bride. The organ was brilliantly played by Miss Kercheval – the triumphant strains of the Wedding March in Lohengrin, “Hail to the bride! Long may she live!” finding a ready echo in the hearts of the friends met to do honor to her bridal. The ceremony was performed by Rev. S. W. Young, of Trinity Church. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn are at present at the Grand Hotel, and leave to-day for journey to Niagara and the lakes.
Among the many presents were: Epergne from Miss Stella Hall, silver pie knife from S. A. Kidd, a pair of ornaments from Messrs. Kruse and Bryson, silver singing pitcher, goblet, and butter dish from Messrs. Ringgold and Elliott, handsome sofa cushion from Miss Annabel Donogh, card receiver from O. J. Wiggins, pair of silver napkin rings from Anna and May Donogh, silver water pitcher from Mr. Ambrose Park, handsome celluloid dressing set from Mr. Lewis Jenkins, hand painted pin cushion and perfume bottles from Miss Jennie Thorpe.
Among the friends present were Mr. A. C. Ellis and family, Mr. Joseph Whitehouse and family, Mr. J. S. Williams and family, Mr. R. F. Caldwell and family, Mr. J. C. Yorston and family, Judge O’Hara, Mr. J. W. Brien, Mr. S. P. Tucker, Miss Hattie Yorston, of Detroit; Mr. Tom Mason and wife, Mrs. John Kay, Mr. and Mrs. J. Megrune, and many others.1,3,4 Lucy A. Gleen, age 39 was listed as the wife of Dudley A. Gleen, age 52 in the 1900 Census of Latonia, Kenton County, Kentucky.2 Lucy M. Glenn, age 49 was listed as the wife of Dudley Glenn, age 62 in the 1910 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.5 Lucy M.
