Yelton, age 30 appears in the 1900 Census of Pendleton County, Kentucky in the household of Margaret Bradford, his wife's maternal grandmother..⁴ In 1939 Jefferson Davis Yelton lived in Lincoln, Nebraska.⁹ He died on 4 July 1943 in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska.¹⁰
