Yelton was a laborer in a chemical plant.⁸ He was listed as the head of a household in the 1930 Census of Delta County, Michigan. The household also included his wife, Albertine C. Yelton, age 30, his sons, Omer A. Yelton, age 7, Frank A. Yelton, age 6 and John E. Yelton, age 5, his daughter, Marie L. Yelton, age 2 years and 7 months.⁸ Frank B. Hutchison, Walter's 85 year old father.³ Walter Hutchison died on 3 March 1955.
