 Whooping cough is prevalent here.   A. J. McCartcoy, of Calhoun county, is visiting friends here.   Rev. Gillis has built a large dwelling near his mill property.   P.S. Lough and wife are visiting A. G. Fisher, who is sick at Wm. Brooks'.   If  the mails were handled in better shape and people received it promptly, the Echo would have many more subscribers. All are pleased with the paper.
