Dana Greene

I am sending this attached photo to you. It is of my father, Dana Greene, and the B24 bomber crew he served with, taken sometime during WW2. He was stationed in North Africa. My Dad is the handsome, dark haired man, (unfortunately, you can't see his blue eyes!) squatting in the front row. Dad was born and raised in Bergoo, the son of Lonnie and Bertha (Cogar)
Green.  He graduated from Webster Springs High School.  From there he enlisted in the US Navy at the start of WW2, staying until the end of the war. You may have noticed the last name spelling difference.  The story is that a clerk added the final 'E' when he joined the Navy, and it's easier to keep it, than to change the government records.  He met and married the
former Helen Dionne, of Rhode Island, and they remained together until his death in 1984, of complications from Lupus.  They raised three children, Gail, Gary, and Michael.  I just thought that I would share this with you. If anyone remembers him,
and would like to share any thoughts, or stories with me, that would be great. Thank you for your time. Sincerely; Gary D. Greene
