Assn of Romans Family Historians Mon, 07 Sep 1998 00:50:37
Thomas J. & Elizabeth (Muncy) Romans lived in Wayne County, West Virginia in the 1890s; possibly around Crum. The couple had at least two sons; Lon C. (b. 3 Jul 1899), and George F. (b. 9 Aug 1897). Lon C. Romans (marr. Colista Marcum on 23 May 1923) is the ancestor of new member Micki Van Dyke. We need to know who Thomas J.'s parents were! One key may be in an obituary handed down to Micki, apparently handwritten by her grandmother (Colista Marcum), in reference to the death of Ida (Romans) McKnight (1892-1933); d/o George W. and Nancy (Hunt) Romans. It appears that there may be a link between the two Romans lines. Ida's is an established line, now we need to bring the two lines together. Given the period, it looks like we are about ONE GENERATION away from being able to tie this one up and welcome Micki as our newest "long lost cousin." If you have ANY information regarding Thomas J. Romans, please contact me.
