Mary L. Ice
Mary Louise Ice, 84, of Mill Creek, passed away Monday, Dec.17, 2007, in
Mansfield Place in Philippi.
She was born Dec. 10, 1923, at Valley Bend, a daughter of the late Grover
Pingley and the late Lucy Lockhart Pingley. On Oct. 19, 1945, she was married to
the Rev. Garland Ice, who survives at Mansfield Place.
Also surviving are a son, James Lee Ice and wife, Deborah, of Mill Creek; a
foster son, William Swiger and wife, Peggy, of Mill Creek; a daughter, Mary
Ellen Guzy and husband, Ralph, of Morristown, Tenn.; one sister, Katherine
Wortham of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren, Lucy Ringer, Lee Ice, Stephen
Ice, Andy Guzy, Becky Swiger and Diana Morgan; and a great-granddaughter,
Natalie Morgan.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Ralph Pingley; and a sister, Lois
Collier.
Mrs. Ice attended the schools of Randolph County and was a graduate of Tygart
Valley High School with the class of 1940. She attended Davis & Elkins
College and was a teacher in the Randolph County Schools for many years. She was
a member of the Mill Creek United Methodist Church and was active in many church
and community activities.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in
Elkins. On Thursday, Dec. 20, she will be moved to the Mill Creek United
Methodist Church for visitation from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The
Rev. Bill Sullivan, the Rev. Bonnie Starkey and the Rev. Bryan Headley will
officiate and interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near
Huttonsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice or to
Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250 in memory of Mrs. Ice.

Mabel Isaacs
Mabel (Steyer) Fisher Isaacs, 95, of Peoria, Ariz., and
formerly of Mount Storm, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in Oddessy Hospice,
Peoria, Ariz.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Storm Cemetery at Mount
Storm with the Rev. Clifford G. Schell officiating. Schaeffer Funeral Home

Ruby W. Isenhart
Ruby Wilma Isenhart, 86, a lifelong resident of Chenoweth
Creek, passed away early Thursday, March 15, 2007, in the Elkins Regional
Convalescent Center.

Ruby W. Isenhart
Ruby Wilma Isenhart, 86, a lifelong resident of Chenoweth
Creek, passed away early Thursday morning, March 15, 2007, in Elkins Regional
Convalescent Center.
She was born Jan. 11, 1921, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Wilson T. Helmick
and the late Stella Louk Helmick.
She was married to Grant Houston Isenhart, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are five children, Elizabeth Schoonover and husband, Homer, Wilson
Isenhart and wife, Pauline, Grant Houston Isenhart Jr. and wife, Barbara,
Francis Isenhart and wife, Faye, and Richard Isenhart and wife, Tammy, all of
Elkins. One sister, Louise Sisler, and one brother, George Helmick, both of
Elkins; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and numerous
great-grandchildren also survive.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Shirley Mae Thompson; a brother,
Lawrence Helmick; and two stepgrandchildren.
Mrs. Isenhart attended the schools of Randolph County and was a homemaker.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in
Elkins. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, from the funeral
home chapel with the Rev. Robert L. Lowther officiating. Interment will follow

Charles Edward “Charlie” Isner, 54, of Stalnaker Run Road, died at 1 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at his residence. He had been in failing health for
the past several months and death was attributed to cancer.

Charles Edward “Charlie” Isner, 54, a resident of Stalnaker Run Road,
passed away at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept, 22, 2007, at his residence. He had been in
failing health for the past several months and death was attributed to cancer.
Born Feb. 9, 1953, at Elkins, he was the son of the late Daniel B. and Opal
Phares Isner.
Charlie is survived by his companion of many years and her family, Linda
“Lynn” Balsum; a daughter, Alanna Soon Sharp and husband, Ricky, of Bayard;
two sisters, Barbara “Bobbie” Fisher and husband, Harold, of Crystal Springs
and Nancy Griffith of Canton, Ohio; and three brothers, Roy Isner, Jerry Isner
and Roger Isner and companion, Doris, all of Elkins.
Also surviving are two nieces and several nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parent’s was a brother, Daniel C. Isner.
Charlie was a veteran having served with the U.S. Air Force. He was formerly
employed by Wilson Lumber Co. until becoming disabled while working. Charlie was
a avid outdoors man, loving to hunt and fish. He also loved indoor animals of
any kind. He was a Protestant by faith. Charlie never met a stranger and always
had a smile. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and will remain
forever a part of their hearts.
At the request of the deceased, the remains will be cremated. A memorial service
will be conducted at a later date. The family has suggested, in lieu of flowers,
donations in Charlie’s name may be made to Hospice Care, 929 S. Davis Ave.,
Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or to the American Cancer Society. Runner Funeral Home is in

Evie S. Isner
Evie Shrader Isner, 88, a resident of Buckhannon, departed this life early
Monday morning, Nov. 19, 2007, at her home.
She was born Saturday, July 19, 1919, at Valley Bend, a daughter of the late
Butch F. Shrader and Ethel Higgins Shrader.
She was twice married. First, on Feb. 24, 1955, to Charles Vinson Taylor, who
departed this life Oct. 19, 1959. Second, on April 10, 1970, at Baltimore, Md.,
she was married to Thurman “Buck” Isner, who preceded her in death Feb. 28,
1997.
Surviving are a special niece, Bertha M. Tomey of Buckhannon; two stepsons,
Thurman D. “Sonny” Isner of Maryland, and Early L. Isner of Circleville; two
stepdaughters, Sharon Hitt of Elkins and Vallie Rich of Fayetteville, N.C.;
several stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one stepson, Richard George Isner; two brothers,
James Lee Shrader and an infant; and one sister, Roxie Ann Shrader.
Evie attended the Shaver’s Run One Room School, was a member of Buckhannon
Eagles Auxiliary, had previously attended The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints and Calvary Baptist Church at Buckhannon.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on
Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home
chapel Saturday, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m. Pastor Michael Tallman will officiate and

George Isner
George “Woodrow” Isner, 91, a resident of Cow Creek Road, St. Marys, and
a former resident of Route 4, Sand Run Road, Philippi, passed away Friday, Nov.
30, 2007, in Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg.
He was born Nov. 16, 1916, in Barbour County, a son of the late George and Sarah
Margaret Poling Isner.
He was united in marriage March 7, 1939, to Beatrice “Mamaw Bea” Bolyard
Isner, who preceded him in death April 13, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty and Darrell Mayfield of St. Marys; two sons,
Eugene Isner and Charles and Shelia Isner, both of Route 4, Sand Run Road,
Philippi; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Isner was the last surviving member of his family, having been preceded in
death by three brothers, John, Ed and Ray; four sisters, Lealah, Gay, Evelyn and
Minnie; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Isner was employed by King Knob Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator. He
enjoyed farming and raise polled Hereford cattle for more than 40 years. Mr.
Isner was a member of United Mine Workers of America District 31 and American
Polled Hereford Association. He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends were received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi,
Sunday and will be received today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the service hour with
Pastor Bryan Headley and speaker Darrell Mayfield officiating. Interment will
follow in Mr. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Wright Funeral Homes services.
