Carl E. Dadisman

Carl E. Dadisman, 98, a resident of Route 1, Philippi, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007, in Talbott Personal Care Home in Belington.

He was born April 9, 1909, in Philippi, a son of the late Floyd and Lelia (Means) Dadisman.

He was twice married, first on April 5, 1935, to Roseanna Poling, who preceded him in death Sept. 10, 1970, and second on Sept. 10, 1972, to Elsie Poling, who preceded him in death on March 12, 1997.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty and husband, Raymond Moats, and Sally and husband, Haymond Moore, both of Route 2, Philippi; one son, Thomas Bill and wife, Bernetia Dadisman, of Philippi; four grandson, Mike, Joe and Tommy Dadisman and Wray Moats; three granddaughters, Carla Coble, Jeri Robinson and Kathy Robinson; and six great-grandchildren, Evan Dadisman, Jesse and Jared Moats, Daniele and Morgan Robinson and Katie Dadisman.

Mr. Dadisman was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by five sisters, Olive Andrick, Evelyn Huber, Edith Parks, Mildred Snider and Pauline Casto; one brother, Robert Dadisman; and an infant son.

His father was killed in the coal mines when he was 10 years old and, since there were eight in the household, he started on public works in 1922 at the age of 13 so they would have food to eat.

Mr. Dadisman’s first job was knapping rock for $1 a day on the Philippi Buckhannon Road when it was being built.

He was a member of the UMWA and retired from the coal mine in 1972 with 23 years of service. In earlier years, he worked at the carpenter trade and was a former member of the Carpenters Union where he served as secretary of the local district. He worked on the Grafton Dam when it was being constructed and also as a track man on the B&O Railroad. He enjoyed woodworking and repairing clocks and watches. He made two grandfather clocks and nine fiddles, one of which ended up with Grandpa Jones in Nashville, Tenn. He was a Protestant by faith and former member of Evangelist United Brethren Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Thursday, May 24, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, May 25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the service hour. Interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home Services.  From 23 May 2007.

French A. Daft

French Alvin Daft, 87, of Buckhannon, died Monday, July 2, 2007, in Health South at Morgantown.

He was born Oct. 12, 1919, at Pickens, a son of the late Parley Daft and Bessie Cutright Daft.

On Nov. 22, 1943, he was married to Ruby Lee Slaughter Daft, who survives at Buckhannon.

Also surviving are one son, Terry Daft and wife, Elsie, of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Chadwick Daft of Ohio, Bradly Daft of Buckhannon, Garrick Daft of Columbus, Ohio, and Brandon Daft of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Celine Daft and Emmie Cutright, both of Buckhannon; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Oliver Daft of Baltimore, Md.; and one sister, Lena Bell Gillian of Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Daft; two grandsons, Darr Daft and Ronald Daft; one granddaughter; Elizabeth Daft; six brothers, Troy Daft, Everett Daft, Earn Daft, Calvin Daft, Ellis Daft and Ord Daft; and two sisters, Mary Wolford and Ella May Pumphrey.

He was a coal miner and United Brethren by faith.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at the funeral home with the Rev. Janet Dahlin

Janet S. Dahlin, 50, of Kingsport, died Sunday night, April 22, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Elkins where she resided most of her life before moving to Kingsport in 1989. Jan had been a realtor in the Kingsport area and was currently an agent for Re/Max. She was a Christian and was attending Celebration Church. Jan was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and friend.

Her parents, McLake and Mary Morrison, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Robert A. Dahlin II, at home; two daughters, Nichole (Nikki) Dahlin of Johnson City and Danielle Dahlin, at home; a sister, Mary Ann Roy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Jack Whitmire of Lost Creek; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Celebration Church. Services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church with Dr. Robert Russell officiating.

Johnny A. Dahmer

Johnny Arvin Dahmer, 87, of Franklin, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Franklin.

Friends called Monday at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Franklin Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Kevin Hand and Donald S. Franklin E. Daniels

Franklin Eugene “Gene” Daniels, 54, a resident of Beverly, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a sudden illness.

He was born March 6, 1953, in Elkins, a son of Willard and Goldie Rexrode Daniels, who survive at Beverly.

He was married to Shirley Ann Bailey Daniels, who survives at Beverly. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Deborah) Harper of Elkins and Leslie D. Hinzman and Keith Collete of Hambleton. Three brothers, Danny Daniels and wife, Shirley, and Mark Daniels and wife, Sandy, all of Beverly, and Butch Daniels and wife, Judy, of North Carolina; one sister, Susie Starr and husband, Bill, of Beverly; a granddaughter, Alyssa Harper; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Tom Karlen of Elkins, also survive.

Gene was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1972 and since Oct. 1, 1991, was employed by Elkins Distributing Co. as a mechanic and truck driver.

He was an active member of the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department joining as a junior member at the age of 16. He served the department as fire chief for 12 years and was a member of the board of directors.

Kenneth E. Daniels

Kenneth Eugene Daniels, 74, a resident of Elberton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Elberton.

He was born April 8, 1932, at Beverly, a son of the late Thurman Cleveland and Violet Agnes Kisner Daniels.

He was married to Margaret Inez Hendricks Daniels, who survives in Georgia.

Surviving are four sons, Phillip E. Daniels of Columbus, Ohio, Louis H. Daniels of Cape Coral, Fla., Leon H. Daniels of Elberton, Ga., and Kent M. Daniels of Fort Myers, Fla.; a stepson, Joey Rudd of Greenwood, S.C.; three daughters, Chiquita L. Sawyer of Fort Myers, Fla., Paula E. White of Elkins and Robin F. Borden of Fort Myers, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Teresa Deal of Hodges, S.C.; brothers, Thurman A. “June” Daniels of Beverly, the Rev. Charles L. Daniels of Flemington, Alvin Daniels of Moscow, Pa.; sisters, Norma Hannah and Carol Sines, of Elkins and Betty Merritt of Ripley. Fourteen grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Also preceding him in death were five brothers, Audbrey, Jack, Mearl, Merlon and Paul Daniels; and two sisters, Eula Cross and Buryl Daniels.

Mr. Daniels was employed as a construction inspector for the Corps of Engineers. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Elkins.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in Mount Vernon Cemetery near Beverly. The Rev. Charles Daniels will officiate and interment will follow. Raymond D. Daniels

Raymond Deward Daniels, 89, of Wellington, Ohio, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at the Northbridge Health Center in N. Ridgeville, Ohio, following a long illness.

He was born April 5, 1918, in Junior. He had lived most of his life in LaGrange, Ohio, until moving to Wellington in 1990.

Mr. Daniels was a U.S. Army WWII veteran. He was employed as a painter for Ford Motor Co., Lorain Assembly Plant, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars and tinkering with old TVs and radios.

Surviving are three daughters, Darla Myers of Wellington, Vicki (David) Hammond of Lorain, Ohio, and Jodell Higdon of Richmond Ky.; two sons, Alan (Marsha) Daniels of Elyria, Ohio, and Timothy (Kimberly) Daniels of LaGrange; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Leslie Daniels of Clinton, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Joy (nee Cutright) in 1985; parents, Wesley C. and Winnie D. Daniels (nee Simons); a stepson, David Kenney; one granddaughter, Ashley Hammond; three brothers, Clyde, Ronald and Bradley; and one sister, Carmen Daniels.

John Nicholas Dannenman, 89,, a resident of Hendricks, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas, departed this life Tuesday evening Dec. 4, 2007, at the nursing home.

John N. Dannenman

John Nicholas Dannenman, 89, a resident Hendricks, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas, departed this life Tuesday evening Dec. 4, 2007, at the nursing home.

He was born Thursday, May 2, 1918, at Baltimore, Md., a son of the late John Conrad Dannenman and Elizabeth Bogart Dannenman.

On July 4, 1986, at Parsons, he was married to Matilda Paugh Dannenman, who preceded him in death Nov. 14, 1990.

He attended the schools of Baltimore, Md. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. John was known for his patriotic charisma.

Lee H. Daugherty

Lee H. “Skip” Daugherty, 68, of Elkview, passed from this life to the next on Dec. 2, 2007, in Hubbard Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.

A retired teacher in Kanawha County public schools, he spent his entire career as an industrial arts teacher at Charleston High School and later as a vocational technology teacher at Capital High School. He takes with him many precious memories of friends and students from his teaching career and leaves behind a wonderful legacy which will live forever in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His students at Charleston High will remember the airplane they built in his class and he flew over the Capital in the 1970s, and many students have admired his expertise with stained glass.

Skip was an extraordinary craftsman who loved helping others. He was a car enthusiast and an avid Harley-Davidson fan. He loved airplanes, music, computers, tools of all kinds, the newest gadget and working on special projects with his many buddies. He was known and loved for his practical jokes and sense of humor, and he was a great financial supporter of Sam’s Club and Lowes.

The son of Lane and Elizabeth Daugherty, who proceeded him in death, Skip was a graduate of Philippi High School and West Virginia Tech and had a master’s degrees from Marshall University.

A proud American, he served our country as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. A United Methodist by faith, he more recently attended First Baptist Church of Pinch.

He lives on in the heart of his loving wife, Sharon Daugherty; and his sister, Janie Daugherty of Annapolis, Md. In addition to his many devoted friends, he is also survived by two stepdaughters, Tiedra Skull of Dunbar and her two children, Jaelyn and Avery, and Heather and Tony Bowles and their three children, Lane, Madison and Emma, of Elkview. He will also be missed greatly by his special cousin, Mike Pollock and his wife, Kathy, of Vienna.

Cremation will be by Barlow-Donsall Crematorium, and a celebration of life service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, in the auditorium at Elk Elementary in Mink Shoals. Beatrice I. Davis

Beatrice Irene Davis, 91, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2007, in the Davis Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 31, 1916, in Elkins, a daughter of the late William Preston and Bertha Vanscoy Jones.

She was married to Coy Davis, who survives in Elkins. Also surviving are two sons, David Davis of Elkins and Jerry Davis, also of Elkins; three daughters, Judy Ann Bowers of Harrisonburg, Va., Wanda Jean Weatherell of Virginia and Rita Davis of Alabama; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Walter Kerr; and four brothers and five sisters.

Mrs. Davis attended the schools of Randolph County and was a homemaker.

Charles L. Davis Sr.

Charles Leo Davis Sr., 65, of Buckhannon, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, in Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins.

He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Randolph County, a son of the late Ralph Davis and Ida McCauley Davis.

Surviving are his former wife, Donna Coberly Landis, of Buckhannon; one daughter, Angel Howell and husband, Donald, of Buckhannon; two sons, Charlie Davis and wife, Barbara, of French Creek and Marvin Davis and wife, Sarah, of Weston; one stepson, Robert Landis and wife, Margaret, of Buckhannon; one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Tincher of Flemington; 20 grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Davis and wife, Lucy, of Alexander; and two sisters, Linda Carpenter and husband, Lonzo, of Belington and Elnora Davis of Ellamore.  From 22 Oct 2007.

F. Bradford Davis

Fielden Bradford “Buck” Davis, 71, of Route 2, Belington, died Tuesday morning, July 10, 2007, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born July 28, 1935, near Belington, a son of the late Frank Lee Davis and the late Hattie Louise (Riffle) Davis.

On Nov. 4, 1964, he married the former Dorothy D. Soales, who survives at their home at Route 2, Belington.

Also surviving are one daughter, Regina Lynn Harris and husband, Keith, of Belington; one son, Christopher Lee Davis, at home; four brothers, Donnie Davis of Springfield, Ohio, Milford Davis, Paul Davis and Jerry Davis, all of Belington; two grandsons, John Michael Wilson Jr. with the U.S. Army in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and Bradley David Salvas of Belington.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Snyder and Freda Finnegan.

Mr. Davis was a former security guard, a former restaurant manager for Howard Johnson’s Restaurant and Scottie’s Restaurant and had delivered The Inter-Mountain for more than 26 years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, from Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Ave., Belington. The Rev. Downing Gregory will officiate and interment will follow in Davis Family Cemetery located off Point Pleasant Road. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday. Freda M. Davis

Freda Mae Davis, 88, due to a sudden illness, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Augusta Medical Center in Fisherville, Va.

She was born in Job on July 21, 1919, the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Bertha Bland Phares.

She was a lifetime resident of West Virginia, for 87 years, living most of her life in Cheat Bridge, Durbin, and in April of 2006, due to her illness, she resided at her daughter’s residence in Crimora, Va., for the past 14 months. Freda will be loved and missed.

She was a "mom’ to all who knew her, but as she was a saved Christian, will someday be reunited with her family in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Durpment Davis, who preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1983; daughter, Carolyn Cole on Feb. 11, 1987; siblings, Thurman, Hansel, Marshall, Robert, Velma Phares and Martha Vance.

James J. Davis

James J. Davis, 68, of Brooksville, Fla,. and formerly of Buckhannon, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Brooksville, Fla.

He was born July 7, 1940, at Fairmont, a son of the late Hugh Davis and Ruby J. Chapman Davis.

On July 18, 1960, he was married to Viola “Vi” Shipman Davis, who survives at Brooksville, Fla.

Also surviving are one son, Scott L. Davis of Buckhannon; one daughter, Linda A. Stocks and husband, Lanny, of Klamath Falls, Ore.; three grandsons, Bradley Davis of Buckhannon, Dana Conway of French Creek and Christopher Davis of Spring Hill, Fla; three granddaughters, Roxann Fultineer of Buckhannon, Tabatha Davis of Buckhannon and Rebecca Davis of Clarksburg; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard H. Davis of Morgantown; cousin, Bobby Hall of Clarksburg; best friend, Sammy; and one sister-in-law, Naomi Morris and husband, Valldeen, of Fairmont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James J. Davis II; one brother, Harry B. Davis; and friends, Dr. Bob and Bill W.

He was a conservation officer for the state of West Virginia. He had served 11 years with the U.S. Marine Corps, including two tours in Vietnam.

Oliver Davis, 81, of French Creek, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, in Holbrook Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 7, 1925, at Lenore, a son of the late Stewart and Trennie Vinson Davis.

He was united in marriage on July 20, 1948 to Birdie Ann Mullins Davis, who survives

He is also survived by four sons, Freeland Davis and wife, Dana, of Lexington, Ky., Roger Davis and wife, Bobbie, of French Creek, Oliver Dale Davis of Chattaroy and Les Davis and wife, Bridgett, of Glade Hill, Va.; one daughter, Rita and husband, Ken Maynard, of Franklin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Katrina Miller of Charleston, Joshua Davis of Naugatuck, Michele Davis of Columbus, Ohio, Kimmie Davis of French Creek, Kendra Vance of Richwood, Kyle Oliver Maynard and Ken Maynard III, both of Franklin, Tenn.; four great-granddaughters; two brothers, Bill Davis of Alabama, and Kenny Davis of North Carolina; four sisters, Martha Slate of Lenore, Brookie Carry of Ohio, Norma Jean Mounts of Williamson and Christine Krieger of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Phillips; and two brothers, Freelan and Roland Davis.

Mr. Davis was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of United Baptist Church at Belo, where he had served as a deacon. He attended Good Hope Tabernacle Church and was a retired coal miner.

Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Friday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to noon, the service hour, with Pastor Holly Hoover, the Rev. Robert Heavner and the Rev. Freda Marie Day, 83, a resident of Elkins, passed away at 8:29 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, in the emergency department of Davis Memorial Hospital. 

She was born Aug. 29, 1924, at Junior, a daughter of the late Okey R. Ware and Lena G. Booth Ware. 

She was married to Golden H. Day, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kenneth G. Day and wife, Lana, of Bloomington, Ind.; one daughter, Diana Conrad and husband, Ralph, of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Melodee Wolford and husband, Doug, Tammie Murphy, James Murphy and wife, Amy, Wesley Day and wife, Alice, and Rachel Day; and six great-grandchildren, Josh Hedrick, D.J. and Ashley Wolford, Kyle and Michelle Murphy and Lexi Day. 

Preceding her in death were two brothers.

Mrs. Day was a 1943 graduate of Belington High School.  She was employed at The Inter-Mountain for several years until her retirement. Until her illness, she was active at the Randolph County Senior Center. She was a Baptist by faith.

Hope May Bland Day, 76, a resident of Seneca Rocks, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at her home.

She was born Dec. 19, 1930, at Brushy Run at Onego, a daughter of the late Titus Bland and Margie Mallow Bland.

She was married to Roy Jacob Day, who preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1999.

Mrs. Day is survived by one son, John Day of Petersburg; three brothers, Foster Bland and Gar Bland, both of Onego, and Glen Bland of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Scott Day and Jamie Day; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Day, Cole Day and Peyton Harrison.

She was a homemaker.

Nellie E. Day

Nellie Elizabeth Hinkle Day, 96, a resident of Hambleton, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, departed this life Saturday morning Dec. 1, 2007, at the nursing home.

She was born Thursday, Dec. 15, 1910, at Pendleton County, a daughter of the late Charles Hinkle and Mary Ellen Bennett Hinkle.

She was married to William Theodore Day, who preceded her in death July 21, 1969.

Surviving are one son, “Bill” William Dean Day and Wanda of Parsons; two daughters, W. Eloise Koskela and husband, John, and Peggy Lucille Disney and husband, Warren, all of Silver Spring, Md.; one brother, Blake Hinkle of Hendricks; 19 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were two sons, Warren Kelly Day and Kenneth Jack Day; six brothers, Willis, Russell, Boyd, Earl, Harry and Ralph E. Hinkle; and one sister, Gaye Judy; and five grandchildren, Ricky Grimes, Terry Ann Bennett, Michael Kelly Day, Danny Day and Mary Ellen Marshall.

She attended the schools of Randolph County. She was a cook at the former Hamrick School, and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Parsons Chapter 91 Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She was an enthusiastic bingo player.

Roger O. Day

Roger O’Riley Day, 77, a resident of Route 2, Elkins, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 5, 2007, at his residence. He was born Nov. 21, 1929, at Harman, a son of the late Henry Day and Ruth Cooper Heminger.

On Sept. 9, 1954, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Alma Jean Clayton who preceded him in death on July 18, 2006.

He is survived by one son, Dennis Day of Ohio; and three daughters, April Day of Ohio, Brenda Sauzer and Tacie “Ruth” Day, both of Elkins. Eleven grandchildren, Moriah and Lukas Bagshaw, Crystal, Casey, Dana, Lacey, Danny and Sonny Day, Codey Rykert, and Waylon and Denny Lee Yarberry; and six great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Rickers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Miranda Bagshaw.

Mr. Day was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a machinist and worked with Universal Hydraulics at Willowby, Ohio, until his retirement. He was a member of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an experienced woodsman, an avid outdoorsman and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a Baptist by faith.

Erma I. Dean, 61, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at her home.

She was born Oct. 18, 1946, at Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Oscar Cutright and Juanita Wilfong Cutright.
On Sept. 10, 1964, she was married to James W. Dean, who survives at Buckhannon.

Also surviving are one son, James W. Dean II and wife, Felicia, of Buckhannon; and two sisters, Shelia Davis and husband, Jeff, of Buckhannon and Karen Talbott and husband, Jim, of Fitchville, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Cutright; and her stepfather, Hugh McFadden.
She was a homemaker.

Charles W. Delauder

Charles William Delauder, 82, a resident of Route 2, Belington, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, May 17, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and the care of Hospice Care following an extended illness.

He was born on June 23, 1924, in Belington, a son of the late Williamson “Whimp” and Lanie May (Cross) Delauder.

On Jan. 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to the former Carrie Lea Tenney, who survives at their home in Belington.

Also surviving are five daughters, Patty Delauder and friend, Michael Wilcox, Kathy Summerfield and husband, Glenn, Sandy Delauder and Pammy Delauder, all of Belington, and Christina Delauder and friend, Jeff Phillips, of Montrose; one brother, Okey Delauder of Belington; two sisters, Audra Delauder of Belington and Berl Jean Tenney and husband, Ernest, of Belington; four grandchildren, Samantha Summerfield and friend, Donald Sullivan, Amanda Summerfield and friend, Ronnie Talbott, Justin Delauder and friend, Leslie Sheets, and Jeffrey Summerfield, all of Belington; two great-grandchildren, Lindsay Rae Talbott and Logan William Sullivan, both of Belington; a special son, Mark Blankinship of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews, including Mike Delauder.

He was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Charles William and Matthew Delauder; two infant daughters, Carol Lee and Angela Delauder; and two brothers, Bernard Delauder and Junior Delauder.

Mr. Delauder attended the schools of Barbour County, was a timber cutter, and he was a farmer. He loved listening to country music and his favorite artist was George Jones.

Etha May Delauder, 95, a resident of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007, at the center.

She was born, March 28, 1912, at Monterey, Va., a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Betty Lantz Gum.

On Oct. 2, 1976, at Beverly, she was married to her second husband, Clayton Delauder, who preceded her in death January 1987.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Blaine (Sue) Skidmore Corrick of Rocky Mount, N.C.; one foster brother, Earle Kramer and wife, Willanna, of Staunton, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Leola Gum of Staunton, Va., and Norma Gum of Canton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kevin Corrick of Loganville, Ga., and Mrs. Greg (Kara) Deans of Nashville, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Chandler Corrick and Amberleigh Dornseif.

Also preceding her in death were her first husband, Harold C. Skidmore: three brothers, Marlyn, William and Roy Gum; and three sisters, Sylvia Reed, Elva Crisp and Margaret Gum.

Mrs. Delauder had retired from Memorial General Hospital having worked as a nurse’s aide and was a member of Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church.

Pearl M. Delauder, 83, a resident of Route 1, Buckhannon, Hodgesville community, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at her home.

She was born March 8, 1924, at Flemington, a daughter of the late Dorsey Marple and Maggie Weekly Marple.

On June 4, 1949, she was married to William G. Delauder, who preceded her in death Oct. 8, 1993.

Surviving are one son, William B. Delauder and wife, Mary, of Buckhannon; two daughters, Maggie Margaret Stobert and husband, Richard, of Amesville, Ohio, and Emma Lee McKibbon of Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She was a homemaker.

Vietta L. Delauder

Vietta Lynn Delauder, a former resident of Buckhannon, and more recently a resident of Elkins, went home to her rest Saturday morning, Aug. 18, 2007, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, following a critical illness for the past four months. She had been disabled since her early 20s.

She was a very special daughter to Anita Gail Nelson and Donald N. Nelson of Elkins; a special sister and sister-in-law to Nanette Trammell and Jimmy Trammell of Montrose.

She was born at Weston, to Beatrice Posey, who survives at Weston.

Also surviving are one brother, Charles Posey of Weston; one sister, Marilyn Freeman of Parkersburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a wonderful friend, Vicki Paugh of Buckhannon.

Preceding her in death were her loving grandmother, Lula M. Posey Donaldson; and her beloved Saint Bernard, Samson, who was her “true blue” friend and protector.

Vietta volunteered for several years at Camp Tommy for special needs individuals and loved being with children. She was an avid dog lover and often nursed “special needs” dogs back to health. She especially loved Saint Bernards of which she raised several. She volunteered at the animal shelter at Buckhannon for many years. She also worked each year at the Strawberry Festival and enjoyed it very much.

Lawrence Lee “Punk” Detamore, 79, a resident of Adrian, the Alton community, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at his home.

He was born Dec. 20, 1927, at Centralia, a son of the late James M. and Letha Frame Detamore.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda Jean Sandy Detamore.

Mr. Detamore was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and David Detamore; and several brothers and sisters.

He had spent 23 years as a trackman with the B&O Railroad. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in 1946 and 1947. He was a Methodist by faith. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Janice L. Dickenson

Janice Lou Dickenson, 90, a resident of Mansfield Place, formerly of Indian Fork Community, Philippi, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 26, 2007.

She was born Oct. 4, 1916, near Volga, a daughter of the late George Blaine and Gladys B. (Burner) Anglin.

She was united in marriage in October of 1939 to Carl Willard Dickenson Sr., who preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1992.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara J. Blubaugh of Philippi; two sons and daughters-in-law, James “Butch” and Shelia Dickenson and Carl W. Jr. and Sharon Dickenson, all of Philippi; three brothers, Robert H. Anglin of New Middleton, Ohio, Freddie D. Anglin of Yucca City, Calif., and Blaine Anglin Jr. of Philippi; 10 grandchildren, Carla Skidmore, Lisa Swartz, Robby Dickenson, Angie Zirkle, Kelly Matlick, Melissa Farley, Scott Dickenson, Sam Dickenson, Michael Dickenson and Nikki Dickenson. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Ralph McCauley of Youngstown, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Samuel D. Dickenson; one sister, Reba Jean McCauley; three brothers, Wilford, Paul and William Anglin; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Paige Zirkle.

Mrs. Dickenson was a homemaker. She was a member of Mansfield United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and Shooks Run Community Education Outreach Society.

Eleanor J. Dilley

Eleanor Jean (Reed) Dilley, 73, of Marlinton, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, in Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

Eleanor enjoyed gardening, was retired postmistress of the Slatyfork post office, was a member of Mary’s Chapel Church where she was a long-time Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Pocahontas Promenaders square dance club.

She was born March 31, 1934, at Marlinton, the daughter of the late Lake and Polly Gibson Reed.

She is survived by her son, Arlie Dilley and wife, Stephanie, of Marlinton; grandchild, Josh Dilley, and wife, Cheryl, of Marlinton; and great-grandsons, Dylan and Kaleb Dilley.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Mary’s Chapel Church at 2 p.m. with Sam Felton officiating. Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery, Slatyfork. Everett W. Dilley

Everett W. “Junie” Dilley, 84, of Dunmore, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, in Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.

Everett was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a postal carrier and was a farmer. He was a member of Dunmore United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Farm Bureau. He was a former member of Pocahontas Producers Co-Op Association Inc. and spent 14 years on the Pocahontas County Board of Education. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was born June 18, 1923, at Thorny Creek, the son of the late Everett A. Dilley and Maude L. Galford Dilley.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Norma Lee Dilley; daughter, Lella Ann Dilley Morris; and sister, Jane Lantz, preceded him in death.

He is survived by one daughter, Connie Sue Dilley Cover and husband, Charles T. Cover Jr., of Lewisburg; one son William E. Dilley and wife, Brenda K. Dilley, of Dunmore; one sister, Jean Gay of Broadway; four grandchildren, Matthew T. Cover, Jennifer L. Cover Butler, Justin M. Dilley and Toni G. Dilley; and great-grandchild, Jayden H. Cover.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Vanreenen Funeral Home in Marlinton. Raymond G. Dilley

Raymond Gilbert Dilley, 82, a resident of Terra Alta, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, in Preston Memorial Hospital at Kingwood.

He was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Pocahontas County, a son of the late Gilbert Dilley and Versie Virginia Lewis Liedy.

Mr. Dilley had never married.

He is survived by three brothers, Delmar Liedy of Elkins, Ben Hamrick of Norton and George Hamrick of Davis; and four sisters, Ada Bell of Baltimore, Md., Nellie Harris of Ohio, Mary Jane Walter and Joann Arbogast, both of Elkins.

Mr. Dilley was disabled.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Mountain State Memorial Gardens. Pastor Joey Ridenour will officiate. Jennings P. Dodrill

Jennings P. Dodrill, 75, a resident of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at his home.

He was born Nov. 20, 1931, at Webster Springs, a son of the late Jennings B. Dodrill and Nettie Hamrick Dodrill.

On Oct. 17, 1954, he was married to Anna Lynch Dodrill, who survives at Buckhannon.

Also surviving are one son, Jennings Robert Dodrill and fiance, Belinda Humpal, of Pocahontas, Iowa; one daughter, Barbara Ann Dodrill and fiance, Christopher Cocoma, of Pocahontas, Iowa; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Dodrill of Long Branch, N.J.; one sister, Madeline Papikas of Long Branch, N.J.; a half sister, Patie Dodrill; and special friends, Bob and Carol Workman of Buckhannon, Edward and Kathy Dickerson of Neptune, N.J., and Steve and Tina Meckes of Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

He was a warehouse manager for Schwans Fine Foods and a member of the Buckhannon Moose Lodge No. 598.

Jennings H. Dodrill

Mr. Jennings Howard Dodrill, 90, a resident of Huttonsville for 31 years and a resident of the Glenmore Community for the past five years, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 7, 2007, in Davis Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1916, at Point Mountain, a son of the late C.W. Dodrill and Mintie Conrad Dodrill.

On Nov. 15, 1946, he married Pauline Arbogast Dodrill, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Evelyn) Snyder of Elkins; two brothers, Ivan Dodrill and wife, Anna, of Monterville and Kenna Dodrill of Warren, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Dodrill of Valley Head and Jessie Dodrill of Valley Bend; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ryan (Jodie) Parrack of Elkins and Kirk Snyder of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and one great-granddaughter, Kara LeeAnne Parrack.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Floyd, Delmar, Wesley and Woodrow Dodrill; and two sisters-in-law.

Mr. Dodrill was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy at Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

He was a member of the United States Naval Construction Battalion SeaBees where he helped construct the runway on Tinian Island in the South Pacific.

He retired in 1979 from Pittston Coal Co. at Philippi and was a member of Local Union No. 1938, Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars and H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion.

Mr. Dodrill enjoyed hunting and fishing and attended Mill Creek United Methodist Church and Landmark Baptist Church in Elkins.

Ella M. Doerr

Mrs. Ella Mae Doerr, 90, a former resident of Chenoweth Creek Road, and a recent resident of Nella’s Nursing Home, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in the emergency department of the Davis Memorial Hospital. 

She was born Feb. 23, 1917, at Elkins, a daughter of the late William A. and Minnie Ann Triplet Schoonover.

On May 29, 1934, she was married to Willis H. “Dutch” Doerr, who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1988.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Patti Weese and husband, Dennie, of Elkins, and her grandson, Rusty Doerr and wife, Carolyn, of Morgantown. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Brianna Jack, Garrett Weese, and Dustin, Devin and Derek Doerr; and her great-great grandchildren, Dalton and Brayden Jack and Kolbi Doerr. One sister, Olive Workman, one brother, Robert Glen Schoonover, and one foster son, Roger Lee White of Ohio also survive.

She was preceded in death by her only child, Russell Glenn “Russ” Doerr; one great-grandchild, Jaime Nicole Moore; three sisters, Virginia Hornick, Evie Wolfe and Grace Summerfield; and five brothers, Asher, Albert, Floyd, Della and Clifford Schoonover.

Mrs. Doerr was formerly employed by G.C. Murphy Co. and Beta Shoe Factory. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, cooking and her family. She was a member of the First Church of Christ.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Gordon L. Dolfie

Gordon Lee Dolfie passed away Feb. 13, 2007, in Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif., from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Gordon was born in Charleroi, Pa., on Sept. 22, 1930, the son of John B. and Lillian Hall Dolfie. He was raised in Dunlevy and Indiana, Pa., before moving to Elkins in 1939.

He graduated from Elkins High School in 1948 and attended two years at West Virginia University and another two years at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1952. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and Kappa Alpha Order social fraternity.

Following college, he entered the U.S. Naval Officer’s Candidate School in Newport, R.I. He was commissioned as an ensign in December 1952 and completed a course in naval communications at the U.S. Naval Post-Graduate School in Monterey. While on active duty, he served aboard two amphibious ships, LST-827 and the USS Satyr (ARL-23), before his honorable discharge in December 1955.

After serving in the Navy, Gordon entered graduate school at WVU earning his master’s degree in business in 1957. While in graduate school, he married Dougie Sibbald on June 9, 1956, in Elkins.

They resided in the Philadelphia, Pa., area from 1957 until 1970. During those years, he worked for General Electric, Mobil Oil and ITE Imperial Corp.

His son, Gordon Jr., and his daughters, Ellen and Martha, were born during this time.

In 1970, the family moved to La Canada, Calif., where Gordon worked as director of corporate information services for Unocal Corp. He was a member of the American Petroleum Institute where he served as the chairman of the information systems committee for two years. He retired from Unocal in 1992.

His community involvement included serving on the data processing advisory committees for Pasadena City College and for the Los Angeles County superintendent of education. Gordon was a member of La Canada Presbyterian Church where he served on the stewardship committee and, with his wife, belonged to the Seafarers Mariner Group.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dougie Dolfie of La Canada, Calif.; son, Gordon Jr. (Tony) of El Dorado Hill, Calif.; daughter, Ellen Pearl (Ken) of Danville, Calif.; daughter, Martha Gindorf (Steve) of West Hills, Calif.; grandchildren, Ashley and Derek Dolfie, Alyson and Brian Pearl and Ryan and Nicole Gindorf. He also leaves other relatives from the eastern and southeastern portions of the United States.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his elder brother, Donald Dolfie.

His memorial service was Feb. 22 at La Canada Presbyterian Church followed by private interment. Donations may be made to La Canada Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.  From 8 Mar 2007.

Gladys K. Donica, 93, of Garden City, Mich., passed away Dec. 17, 2007, in St. Mary Mercy Hospital at Livonia, Mich.

She was born June 15, 1914, at Elkins, a daughter of the late William and Louise Boggs Knavenshue.

She is survived by one daughter, Joan Flatt; two sons, John E. (Susan) and Gregory M. (Patricia) Donica; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Donica.

Arnold M. Dorcas

Arnold M. Dorcas, 79, a resident of 304 Nathan St., Elkins, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007, at 1:50 p.m. at his residence. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.

Arnold M. Dorcas

Arnold Markwood Dorcas, 79, a resident of 304 Nathan St. Elkins, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007, at 1:50 p.m. at his residence. He had been in declining health, however, death was sudden and unexpected.

Born Jan. 12, 1928, at Elkins, he was the son of the late Hubert Markwood and Delphia Delia Tibbs Dorcas.

“Dorcas,” as he was well known to his family and friends, is survived by two daughters, Metra Jamon Dorcas of Atlanta, Ga., and Kelly Dorcas of Columbus, Ohio; and two sons, Udo Arnold Dorcas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Todd Dorcas of Charleston. Also surviving are one granddaughter, Emerson Bleu Dorcas; a nephew, John Markwood Dorcas; a niece, Jada Rea Dorcas; and a host of friends.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother, John Arthur Dorcas.

“Dorcas” attended and graduated from Riverside School. He was the class valedictorian. He then went on to pursue his master degree’s in music and social psychology. He graduated from the West Virginia State College at Institute, New School of New York City, Berkeley School of Arts, and both Temple and Wayne State universities. He was an accomplished musician having played the trumpet in the Count Basie Orchestra for many years. He was the third longest member of the the Count Basie Orchestra. During that era, he also played for artists such as Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington and Myles Davis, to name a few. In the early 1970s, “Dorcas” went into the “Motown” Detroit Music as a songwriter, writing songs for famous artists such as Rod Stewart. He also played backup for several artists during that time. Retiring from his music career in 1985, he moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was a psychologist at St. Joseph’s Shelter.

He returned to Elkins upon his retirement and was an attendant at the Runner Funeral Home for several years.

“Dorcas” was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was also a POW for several months. He was a life member of Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of H.W. Daniel’s Post 29 American Legion. He was a former member of the Featherstone Post 76 American Legion. “Dorcas” was a member of the Virginia Chapel AME Church.

“Dorcas” never lost his love of music or people. He had a smile for everyone. He will hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him.

At the request of the deceased, the remains will be cremated. The family will receive friends at Runner Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 21, from noon until 2 p.m. At 2 p.m., a memorial service will be conducted in the Runner Chapel with Pastor Terry Cannon of Shiloh Baptist Church officiating. Edna Dover

Flossie Edna Dover, 86, of Route 1, Elkins, died Thursday evening, May 3, 2007, in Davis Memorial Hospital following a sudden and unexpected illness.

She was born March 20, 1921, near Belington, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sturms) Cross.

Twice married, Dover was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Vincent Rowan, and by her second husband, James “Vaughn” Dover.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Lee Skidmore, of Elkins; one granddaughter, Linda Lee Layne and husband, Allan, of Stuttgart, Ark.; two sisters, Carrie Evalene Weber and husband, Richard, of Ocala, Fla., and Mrs. Jesse Irene Harris of Belington; and her beloved canine companion, Sampson.

Mrs. Dover was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalee Rowan and by four brothers, Stephen B. Cross, Ersley Cross, Ray Cross and Pearl Cross.

She was a homemaker and had formerly worked for a plastics manufacturer in Ohio. She was a member of the Goff Street Church of Christ at Elkins and had been a resident of Elkins for the past 20 years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday from the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Ave., Belington. Ronald Reeves, minister of the Goff Street Church of Christ, will officiate and interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery at Canton, Ohio, on Tuesday.

William C. Dowell

William Chrisman “Chris” Dowell, 57, of Buckhannon, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born July 8, 1949, in Upshur County, a son of the late Robert Page and Lillian Queen Dowell.

He was united in marriage on Oct. 14, 1987, to Brenda Kay Rexroad Dowell, who survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Robin Renee and husband, Paul R. Remy Jr. of Buckhannon; two sons, William Chrisman Dowell II and Robert Page Dowell, both of Buckhannon; three brothers, Tom and wife, Sheila Dowell, Jack Dowell and Richard and wife, Becky Dowell, all of Buckhannon; and one sister, Patty Dowell of Indianapolis, Ind.

Mr. Dowell was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Buckhannon.

Nellie Drummond

Nellie May Drummond, 98, a resident of Buckhannon, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at her home.

She was born Aug. 25, 1908, at Buckhannon, the daughter of the late Tilden B. and Nellie Cunningham Drummond and stepmother, Margaret Cunningham Drummond.

She is survived by several cousins, special friends and caregivers.

She taught school for many years in Buckhannon and Rocky River, Ohio. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Buckhannon, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 18 in Buckhannon and the Emeritus Club at West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a graduate of WVWC with the class of 1931.

Connie K. Duke

Connie Kathleen Duke, 57, of Buckhannon, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at her home under the care of People’s Hospice after a short and courageous battle with cancer. 

She was born July 17, 1950, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Clinton C. and Mabel M. (Hicks) Nestor. 

She is survived by her husband, Nathan Duke. 

Also surviving are one son, Gregory C. Duke of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Olivia Duke of Fairmont; one brother, Don and wife, Judy Nestor, of Buckhannon; three sisters, Margaret and husband, Peter Bogenhuber, of Oberndorf, Austria, Debby and husband, Stephen Morgan, of Buckhannon and Terry and husband, Frank Ross, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by a very special lifelong friend, Jackie Bennett.      Connie was a member of Tennerton Lions Club, Upshur County Democratic Women and Literacy Volunteers. She was a board member of Opportunity House. Connie was retired as finance director of Region VII Planning and Development Council. She was a graduate of Pickens High School. She was a member of Pickens Presbyterian Church and attended First Baptist Church in Buckhannon. Connie lived life to the fullest everyday. She loved her American and Austrian families and all her many friends She and God were “OK”  with all the challenges of this life. Connie said “She was going on a wonderful vacation to be with God and she didn’t have to pack.”

Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Richard McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in Pickens IOOF Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pickens Presbyterian Church in care of Rosie Dulaney at Pickens  or to First Baptist Church in Buckhannon. Mary Dunkle

Mary “Sitty” Dunkle, 77, of Franklin, died Aug. 14, 2007, in Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.

She was born Jan. 9, 1930, at Keyser, a daughter of the late Ottis Kimble and Wilda Judy Kimble.

She was married to Robert Leroy Dunkle Sr., who preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1988.

Surviving are one daughter, Shalee D. Wilburn and husband, Danny, of Franklin; one son, Robert Leroy Dunkle Jr. and wife, Belinda, of Franklin; two grandchildren, Christopher Wilburn and Jennifer Armentrout and husband, Charles; four sisters, Helen Weese of Moorefield, Lucille Torrence and husband, Robert, of Upper Tract, Betty Ann Alt of Gambrills, Md., and Carol Sue Eskridge and husband, Robert, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two brothers, Daniel “Johnny” Kimble and wife, Marie, and Boyd Kimble and wife, Leta, all of Franklin; and two dear friends and helpers, Doris Short and Bobby Keesecker, both of Franklin.

Mrs. Dunkle was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School. She was a homemaker, farmer and member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Tribett and the Rev. Ed Null officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin. Memorials may be made to Pendleton County Rescue Squad or Walnut Street United Methodist Church. Basagic Funeral Home of Franklin is in charge of the arrangements.  From 16 Aug 2007.
