Berta D. Neely
Berta Dove Neely, 100, a resident of Deland, Fla., died Saturday, March 25, 2006, in Terrace Nursing Home at Deland, Fla.
She was born Aug. 22, 1905, at Ellamore, the daughter of the late Van Buren Osburn and Jesse Gertrude Talbott Osburn.
On June 29, 1929, she was united in marriage to Denzil “Rod” Neely, who preceded her in death in 1964.
Surviving are two sons, Robert W. Neely and wife, Margaret of De Leon Springs, Fla., and Ronald R. Neely and wife, Barbara, of Lowell, Ohio; four grandsons, Robert Neely Jr. and wife, Zelta, of De Leon Springs, Fla., David Neely and wife, Janet, of New Cumberland, Joseph Neely and wife, Patricia, of Gerrardstown and James Neely and wife, Mindy, of De Leon Springs, Fla.; one granddaughter, Kelly Allberti and husband, Phil, of Copely, Ohio; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were one grandson, Richard Neely; and two brothers, French Osburn and Oren Osburn.
She was a car dealer and farmer. She attended Gertrude Chapel United Methodist. She joined Gertrude Chapel Church, which was named for her mother, at the age of 13. She was made an honorary life member in 1963. She attended high school in Upshur County and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. She and her husband owned a Ford dealership in Pennsboro from 1948 to 1963. They also operated a dairy farm in Berlin, where they won the Lewis County Farming for Better Living Award in 1958. She also taught school in Upshur County and was pianist for the Buckhannon Methodist Church and Berlin Methodist Church. She was a 40-year member of Orange City United Methodist Church, where she served in many offices and on many committees.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Saturday, April 1, from noon to 2 p.m., the service hour. The Rev. Harold Langevin will officiate and interment will follow in Mt. M. “Dean” Neff
Marvin “Dean” Neff, 72, of Middlebourne, departed this life Monday, May 15, 2006, at his home.
He was born in Middlebourne, April 17, 1934, a son of the late Peter C. and Ona Fox Neff.
Dean was a retired employee of Union Carbide, Sistersville. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge 34, AF & AM, Middlebourne and Eastern Star No. 50, New Martinsville. He was also a member of Deep Valley Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Seivert Neff, Denzil Kearns and Laymon Neff; and a sister, Agnes Leek.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Ashley Neff; two sons, David Brian Neff and wife, Kimberly, of Phillippi, and Patrick Bruce Neff and wife, Natalie, of Plant City, Fla.; three brothers, Dana Robert Neff of Colliers, Waldo Neff of Norwalk, Ohio, and Clarence Neff of Follansbee; a sister, Mae Barrett of Scio, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brian Dean Neff, Jeffrey Stephen Neff, Patrick Thomas Neff and Ashley Elizabeth Neff; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Furbee Funeral Home in Middlebourne Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. Services were today at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lemoyne Horner officiating. Interment was in Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Journey Hospice, 314 S. Wells St., Sistersville, W.Va. 26175.  From 17 May 2006.

Ada L. Nelson
Ada Lillian Arbogast Nelson, 88, a former resident of Elkins and a resident of Richmond, Va., where she resided with her grandson, Tony Nelson since 1992, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Richmond.
She was born Nov. 6, 1917, at Back Ridge, Pendleton County, a daughter of the late Samuel Wesley and Mona Ann Bennett Arbogast.
She was married to Richard Wilson Nelson, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Ruby Bonnell of Glady and Emmeleen Cave of Winchester, Va.; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, Merl G. Sponaugle and Richard Wayne Nelson; one daughter, Patsy Belle Nelson; three brothers, Keith, Dempsey and Weldon Arbogast; and a sister, Bonnie Arbogast McClure.
Mrs. Nelson was homemaker.

Alva Andrew Nelson Sr., age 71, of Seneca Rocks, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, in Winchester Medical Center of Winchester, Va.. Bessie Virginia Nelson, 90, of  Dorcas, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in Grant County Nursing Home at Petersburg.

Clyde W. “Willie” Nelson, 64, of Franklin, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
Born Aug. 17, 1941, at Boyer, he was a son of the late Clyde S. and Radie Arbogast Nelson of Franklin.
He was a foreman for the Department of Highways, was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by two infant siblings.
Surviving are his wife, Donna J. Rexrode Nelson; three daughters, Denise Salmons of Ripley, Lori Huffman of Franklin and Stephanie Nelson of Bartow; two sons, Andy Nelson and Matthew Nelson of Bartow; seven grandchildren; one sister, Margarite Waggy of Franklin; two brothers, Jesse Nelson of Ravanna, Ohio and Leon Nelson of Arbovale.

Johnnie W. Nelson
Johnnie Warden Nelson, 74, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday morning, July 14, 2006, in Braxton Health Care Center at Flatwoods.
He was born April 29, 1932, at Circleville, a son of the late Pinkney J. Nelson and the late Cora Cook Nelson.
He was twice married. First, on July 28, 1951, to Leota Agnes Raines Nelson, who preceded him in death April 7, 1996. Second, on Feb. 28, 1998, he married Audrey Helen Lambert Nelson, who preceded him in death Aug. 13, 2005.
Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Sue Dumire and husband, Bill, of Coalton; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Susan Dumire of Coalton. Two stepsons, Charles "Charlie" Lambert Jr. of Elkins and Ricky Ray Lambert of Junior; two stepdaughters, Connie Elaine Ricottilli of Dailey and Cordelia Elizabeth Griffith of Rockford, Ill; and two sisters, Mary M. Wilfong of Roanoke, Va. and Cynthia J. Warner of Cherry Grove also survive.
Also preceding him in death were six brothers, Jacob George Nelson, Hansel James Nelson, Herbert Glenn Nelson, Richard Paul Nelson, George Allen Nelson and Pinkney James Nelson Jr.
Mr. Nelson was employed as a truck driver prior to his retirement and was a Methodist by faith.

Junior Nelson
Junior Nelson, 66, of Windham, Ohio, went home to be with our Lord Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, surrounded by his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of faith, conviction and strength that will never be lost on those who were honored enough to have been touched by his life. Mr. Nelson was a brilliant and deep thinking man, who cherished and studied the word of God. More importantly, he strove to apply the principles of love, kindness and forgiveness in his daily life.
He was born at Mill Creek on May 9, 1939, to Okey S. and Laura Louk Nelson.
This farmer’s son graduated as valedictorian in 1958 from Beverly High School. He then entered the U.S. Army and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was especially proud of this service. His tales of honor, duty and adventure inspired other generations of the Nelson family to honor their obligations to our great nation by volunteering for military service. Mr. Nelson enrolled in the West Virginia State Police Academy upon being honorably discharged from the Army. He served the people of West Virginia as a state trooper and took great pride in protecting and serving. Mr. Nelson then moved to Ohio to work in the Twinsburg Chrysler Plant until his retirement in 2001. He was a long-time member of the Windham Church of Christ.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 44 years, Dolly Mallow Nelson; his children, Jeff and Judy of Windham, Okey (Stephanie) of Warren and Pam (Brian) of Craig Beach; his mother, Laura Nelson of Elkins; his sisters, Jewell (Robert) Wilfong of Weston, who was Junior’s twin with whom he shared a special bond, Gloria Wyatt of Stow, Ohio, Goldie (Joseph) Hamrick of Valley Bend, Ali (Joseph) Smith of Kent, Ohio, and Joyce (John) Phillips of Beverly. He was always especially proud of his 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who also survive him, as do many nieces, nephews and others who loved and will miss him dearly.
Mr. Nelson’s father, Okey S. Nelson, preceded him in death.

Laura O. Nelson
Laura Opal Louk Nelson, 87, a resident of Elkins and Beverly, where she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and John Phillips, and more recently a resident of Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, departed this life early Wednesday morning, Oct. 18, 2006, in the nursing home. She had been in declining health for some time and had suffered a fall on Tuesday evening.
She was born Thursday, June 12, 1919, at Mill Creek, the third child and daughter of the late Frank Campion Louk and Lucy Pudder Louk.
On Sept. 22, 1936, at Mill Creek, she was married to Okey Snowden Nelson, who preceded her in death Jan. 10, 1988. They had celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Surviving are five daughters, Jewell Wilfong and husband, Bob, of Weston, Alice Smith and husband, Joe, of Kent, Ohio, Goldie Hamrick and husband, Joe, of Valley Bend, Joyce Phillips and husband, John, of Beverly and Gloria Smith of Stow, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Dolly Nelson of Windham, Ohio; two brothers, Kenneth Louk of Virginia Beach, Va., and Blair Louk of Valley Bend; five sisters, Vada Johnson, a resident of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center and Mill Creek, Alice Howell of Elkins, Ina Gear of Huttonsville, Roxanne Lodge of Austin, Texas, and Shirley Riegel of Baltimore, Md.; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild due in December.
Preceding her in death were her most cherished only son, Junior Nelson, who was a twin to Jewell, on Jan. 23, 2006; one brother, Junior Louk; and one sister, Neva Swecker.
Laura attended the schools at Mill Creek and told many stories to her family about walking several miles to attend Tygarts Valley High School in all kinds of weather. She had worked for the Hutton family at Huttonsville as a young woman and later for the Cupp family as a companion and caregiver. She later worked for the Dutch Oven Bakery at Elkins. She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother and her grandchildren adored her and she loved them dearly. She will be sadly missed. She loved to read and her greatest pastime was making quilts. She was a longtime member of the Beverly United Methodist Church.

Norma Eileen Nelson, 79, of Franklin, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, in Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.

Robert C. Nelson
Robert Carl “Bob” Nelson, 68, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Saturday evening, May 20, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital emergency department. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1937, at Elkins, a son of the late Samuel K. Nelson and Pearl Marie Bright Nelson Roy.
Surviving him are three brothers, Donald Neil Nelson and wife, Gail, Roger Glen Nelson and wife, Sandy, and Jerry D. Nelson, all of Elkins; three sisters, Carolyn Cook and husband, Larry, and Janet Hinzman and husband, George, all of Elkins, and Wanda Madden and husband, Don, of Akron, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one infant sister, Edna M. Nelson.
He attended Elkins High School and had worked in the sanitation and maintenance departments for the city of Elkins for 25 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Patricia Nesselroads
Patricia H. Nesselroads, 68, a resident of Buckhannon, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, in United Hospital Center at Clarksburg.
She was born March 14, 1938, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Keith C. Hinkle and Hiawatha Leah Lanham Hinkle.
On Dec. 9, 1961, she was married to Dale S. Nesselroads, who survives at Buckhannon.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas D. Nesselroads, and wife, Cynthia, and Rodney P. Nesselroads, all of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Aaron T. Nesselroads and Andrew P. Nesselroads of Buckhannon; one brother, James D. Hinkle of Florida; and one sister, Pamela S. Hinkle of Michigan.
She was a homemaker and attended The Way of Holiness Church at Buckhannon. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at The Way of Holiness Church. Pastor Jerry Murrell will officiate and interment will follow in Heavner Cemetery at Buckhannon. The family will except flowers, but donations may be made to Relay for Life. Ruth Eye Nesselrodt, 73, of Alexandria, Va., died Sunday, May 21, 2006, in Inova Mount Vernon Hospital at Alexandria, Va.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Kimble Funeral Home Chapel at Franklin. Alba Clyde Nestor, 89, a resident of Winchester, Ky., widower of Madelyn McLaughlin Nestor, died at 10:28 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006, at the Christopher East Rehabilitation Center in Louisville, Ky.
A native of Elkins, he was the son of the late Alba Clyde Nestor Sr. and the late Savannah Vera Barte Nestor.
He was retired from Grange Mutual Insurance Co. and was a member of American Legion Post 29, McDowell Lodge 112, Knights of Pyphyas and Isaac Walton League. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Methodist.
Survivors include two sons and three daughters-in-law, Kim and Linda Nestor of Louisville, Ky., William and Vicki Nestor of Irmo, S.C. and Mrs. Theodore (Nancy) Nestor of Milwaukee, Wis.; three granddaughters, Andrea Nestor of Winchester, Ky. and Amy and Allyson Nestor of Louisville, Ky.; three grandsons, Josh Nestor of Belpry, Ohio and Bryan and Geoffrey Nestor of Milwaukee, Wis.; and three great-grandchildren, Claire, Alex and Nicholas Nestor.

Gerald Nestor, 90, a well-known farmer of the Leadmine community, departed this life Monday morning, March 6, 2006, at his home.
He was born Tuesday, March 30, 1915, at Leadmine, a son of the late Lloyd and Nellie Swisher Nestor.
On May 6, 1951, at Red House, Md., he was married to the former Opal Knotts Nestor, who survives. They celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Also surviving are one son, Marshall Nestor and wife, Libby, of Kasson; four daughters, Carol Hovatter and husband, Ira Gene, of Kasson, Retha Plageman and husband, J.B., of Mineral, Va., Janet Roy and fiancee, Eric Bennett, of Leadmine and Geraldine Cochran and husband, Bill, of Leadmine; 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Harold Nestor
He attended Pleasant Vale School at Leadmine. He lived his whole life on the family farm, where he was a farmer. He was a construction worker by trade. He was a member of the Tucker County Farm Bureau for more than 40 years. He was a member of Tygart Valley Soil Conservation and was on the board for 30 years. He attended Leadmine United Methodist Church. He was a member of Pythagoras Lodge 128 AF & AM of Parsons.

John E. Nestor
John Everett Nestor, 89, of Route 2, Belington, died Friday morning, June 23, 2006, in Talbott Personal Care Home at Belington, following an extended illness.
He was born June 17, 1917, at Belington, a son of the late Dewey G. and Nora B. (Bolton) Nestor.
On Dec. 31, 1947, he married the former Clara Elizabeth “Betty” Spencer, who preceded him in death on June 27, 1996.
Surviving are one son, Shirley Nestor and wife, Faye, of Belington; four grandchildren, Deborah (Lee) Delauder, Charles Nestor, Dewey Nestor and Ruth (Leroy) Wright, all of Belington; one great-grandson, Steven Darl Dasher; and two great-great-grandchildren, Melia and Jared Dasher.
Mr. Nestor was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways where he had been an equipment operator. He attended the Corley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Nestor’s family wishes to acknowledge and thank Davis Memorial Hospital, Mansfield Place, Talbott Personal Care Home, Dr. Eric Anger and Hospice Care Corp.

Kathern Imogene Nestor, 76, of South Main St., Philippi, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, in United Hospital Center following an extended illness.
She was born July 23, 1930, near Philippi, a daughter of the late Martin and Edythe (Hershman) Harris.
On Aug. 14, 1948, she was married to Carl Francis Nestor, who survives at South Main Street in Philippi.
Also surviving are one son, retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Robin L. Nestor and wife, Bobbie, of Buckhannon; one daughter, Carla Kay Fitzwater of Belington; a foster son, Philip Basnett and wife, Donna Lou, of Owens; two sisters, Martha Alice Poling of Saint Marys and Charlene Conley of Vero Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Franklin Harris of Philippi and William Harris of Beverly; four grandchildren, Todd (Char) Fitzwater, Erin M. Nestor, Philip Basnett II and Angela Basnett; stepgrandchildren, Scott Miller, James Farber and Michael Gregory; great-grandchildren, Sydney Fitzwater and Katie Basnett.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Eugene Nestor; and by one sister, Joan Shaw.
Mrs. Nestor was a graduate of Kasson High School. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Parsons-Souders Department Store in Clarksburg. She later served as bookkeeper for Nestor’s Texaco Service Center. She was a member of Philippi Chapter 41, Order of the Eastern Star and the Nestorville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Nestor was a gifted seamstress and quilter and was a consummate homemaker.

Mabel Leona Nestor, 95, a resident of Mansfield Place, Philippi, passed away Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, in Mansfield Place.
She was born Oct. 14, 1910, at Mt. Zion, a daughter of the late Walter J. Nestor and the late Mary Louise Phillips Nestor. She was married to Oakey Darl Nestor who preceded her in death on May 13, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters, Yvonne Hedrick of Montrose and Yvetta Shaver of Elkins. Seven grandchildren, Rick Hedrick and wife, Debbie, Kathy Johnston and husband, Ron, and Karen Bender and husband, Eugene, all of Montrose, Rose Manolidis and husband, Rodney, of Elkins, Rebecca Moore and husband, Larry, of Point Pleasant, Lenora Tenney and husband, Marvin, of Belington and Franklin Simmons and wife, Paula, of Beverly; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild also survive.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Carl Nestor and Dewey Nestor; two sisters, Clista Hart and Geneva Poling; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nestor was the owner of Nestor’s Store at Montrose and also owned a sawmill prior to her retirement in 1980. She was a Methodist by faith.

Ralph D. Nethken Sr., 88, of Buckhannon, died Friday, June 30, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins.
He was born Aug. 5, 1917, at Kedron, a son of the late Albert Truman Nethken and Elsie Hornbeck Nethken.
On July 31, 1938, he was united in marriage to Helen I. Shreve Nethken, who survives at Buckhannon.
Also surviving are three sons, Ralph David Nethken Jr. and wife, Karen, of Beverly, Kenna Clark Nethken and Cheryl Webster of Seaford, Del., and Bobby Donald Nethken of Fairmont; six daughters, Betty Jane Nethken and Lou Ella Teter and husband, Bill, of Buckhannon, Judy Ann Simmons and husband, Ray, of Charlotte, N.C., Jean Rohr and husband, Martin, of Buckhannon, Connie McLaughlin and husband, Terry, of Littleton, Colo., and Donna Currence and husband, Rick, of Ellamore; one brother, Howard Weese Nethken of Mabie; five sisters, Jane Helmick and Dove Calain of Warren, Ohio, Edith Ossman of Charlotte, N.C., Jessie Logue of Warren, Ohio and Rosie Bland of Cleveland, Ohio; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews in West Virginia.

Mr. Nethken was a coal miner for Beth Energy. He was a member of Gertrude Chapel, attended Mt. Lebanon and was a 60-year member of United Mine Workers of America District 31 Local 1944.

Beverly Neuville
Beverly Griffin Neuville, 64, of Hickory, N.C., died Jan. 4, 2006, at her residence.
Born July 25, 1941, in Catawba County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Dr. Harold W. and Mamie Marchman Griffin.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was active in her Sunday school class and before her illness, she served as vice president and president-elect of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the John Hoyle Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Hickory Service League. Beverly was a graduate of Hickory High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree. She taught English at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen B. Neuville, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, John Franklin Simon Jr. and wife, Ivy, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura Simon DePretis and husband, Glen, of Crossnore, N.C.; a stepson and wife, Jeffrey Louis Neuville and Michele Francois of Hickory, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Olivia Griffin of Hickory, N.C.; three grandsons, John Franklin “Jack” Simon III of Chapel Hill, N.C., Dominic DePretis of Crossnore, N.C. and Benjamin Neuville of Hickory, N.C., and a granddaughter, Claire Neuville of Hickory, N.C.

Narcissus Nickoson
Narcissus A. Nickoson, 80, of Cassopolis, Mich., and formerly of Carlsbad, N.M., and Montgomery, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, in Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Ind.
She was born July 20, 1926, at Hugheston Creek, a daughter of the late Ray C. and Belle Littleton Wilson.
She was united in marriage on July 20, 1948 to Edward Nickoson, who died June 8, 1996.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Nickoson of Cassopolis, Mich.; three sons, Woodrow and wife, Emma Lowe, of Elkhart, Ind., William and wife, Sandy Lowe, of Bristol, Ind., and Lawrence “Nick” and wife, Sharon Nickoson, of Elkhart, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Nickoson had been a licensed practical nurse, had worked for various institutions including Elkhart General Hospital, Fountainview Nursing Home and Turtlecreek Nursing Home and had done home health care.

Jeri Elizabeth Nine, 47, a resident of Philippi, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 20, 1958, in Junction City, Kan., a daughter of George and Mary Ann Bundy Grant, who survives in Topeka, Kan.
She was united in marriage Dec. 1, 1979, to Torrence L. Nine, who survives at home.

Nine of Martinsburg; five sisters, Allyson Morand and husband, Michael, of League City, Texas, Carla Ervin and husband, Wayne, of Alma, Kan., Teri Grant-Warner and husband, Steve, of Topeka, Kan., Chris Santy and husband, Allan, of Concord, Vt. and Mary Beth Grant and husband, Ray King, of Topeka, Kan.; one brother, Greg Grant and wife, Retia, of Fontana, Kan.; one granddaughter, Avery Madison Nine; mother-in-law, Florence Simpson of Kingwood; special friends, Betty and Lindell McVicker, of Philippi; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nine retired as plant manager for the 7-Up Co. in Topeka, Kan., and also was a homemaker. Mrs. Nine was a Catholic by faith.

Belva J. Norman
Belva Jean Shahan Norman, 57, a resident of Parsons, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, Oct. 19, 2006, at her home following a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Friday, June 3, 1949, at St. George, a daughter of the late John Alva Shahan and Pansy Johnson Shahan.
On June 2, 1968, at Pifer Mountain, she was married to Robert Jacob Norman, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jacob Norman and wife, Janet, of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Kathy Kisselbach of Winchester, Va., and Kimberly Lipscomb and husband, Charles, of Hambleton; two sisters, Dorothy Murphy and Dora Barb; and two brothers, Okey Shahan and David Shahan, all of Parsons; seven grandsons and one granddaughter.
Preceding her in death were one brother, Alva “Tom” Shahan Jr.; and one sister, Orpha Shahan.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1967. Prior to her illness, she was an employee for Wal-Mart. She loved her family, enjoyed sewing and reading and was a member of the Sycamore Grove Church at St. George.

D. Richard Norris
David Richard Norris, 68, of Grafton, formerly of Belington and a recent patient of Hopemont Hospital, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Preston Memorial Hospital at Kingwood following an extended illness.
He was born June 24, 1937, at Fairmont, a son of the late David Crockett and Mildred Pearl (Robinson) Norris.
On Oct. 9, 1978, he married the former Sandra Sue McCauley, who preceded him in death June 29, 1995.
Surviving are one daughter, Debra Irene Cleavenger and husband, Jeff, of Lumberport; two granddaughters, Heather Lynn Alexander and Mistee Dawn Alexander; one brother, John C. Norris and wife, Freda, of Grafton; two nephews, John Wesley Norris and Charles Lewis Norris; and a grandnephew, Dakota Scott Norris, all of Grafton; and a number of McCauley nieces and nephews.
Mr. Norris was a retired yard maintenance man for CSX Transportation. He enjoyed participating in and watching all sports but was an avid baseball fan and possessed a wealth of baseball information.
Funeral services will be conducted from Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel at 609 Crim Ave. in Belington at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11. Pastor Joe West will officiate and interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery.

Anna G. Null
Anna Grace Canfield Null, 83, a resident of Montrose and for the last year a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home at Crystal Springs, departed this life Thursday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2006, at the Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sunday, March 25, 1923, at Montrose, a daughter of the late Calvin Canfield and Icie Cross Canfield. She was married to Carl Wesley Null, who preceded her in death April 3, 1991.
Surviving are six brothers, Ray Canfield and wife, Marie, Truman Canfield and wife, Joyce, all of Montrose, Troy Canfield and Thurman Canfield, both of Barbour County, Sance Canfield and wife, Becky, of Elkins, and Ward Canfield of Tucker County; three sisters, Pauline Arbogast of Elkins, Bessie Wilfong and husband, Leroy, of Montrose and Hazel Bedford and husband, Guy, of Montrose; three grandchildren, Robert Null and companion, Crystal Helmick, Mary Shaver and Rebecca Null; four great-grandchildren, Oshin Null, Lori Nelson, Samantha Nelson and Isaac Nelson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Angus Lambert and Danielle Lambert.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Arthur and Elwood Lee Null; one brother, Willie Canfield; and one sister, Mary Evie Newlon.
Anna attended the schools of Montrose, was a homemaker and was a member of the Mercy Chapel United Methodist Church at Montrose. She enjoyed making and selling quilts and loved cooking and sewing.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Terry Cannon will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Anna Grace Canfield Null.
