Sandra S. Eddington
Sandra Sue Eddington, 61, of Fostoria, Ohio, died at 11:09 p.m.
Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at her home.
She was born May 25, 1945, at Valley Head, a daughter of the late Charles and
Pansey Helmick Peters.
She was twice married: First, she married Ralph Pritt; second, she married Frank
Eddington, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, William Pritt of Fostoria, Ohio; one daughter,
Roxann (Marcus) Haney of Valley Head; brothers, Charles Peters of Cleveland,
Ohio, Harry and James Peters of Fostoria, Ohio, Roger Peters of Alvada, Ohio,
and Robert Peters of Valley Head; sisters, Mary Miller and Nancy Stein of
Fostoria, Ohio, Cathy Crumm and Betty Welch of Valley Head; and six
grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were sisters, Dorothy Brown, Velma Foutz, Carol
Smith and Hilda May Peters.
She retired in 1987 from Consolidated Biscuit Co. in McComb, Ohio, with 13 years
of service. She attended Trinity United Brethren Church in Fostoria, Ohio. She
was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School in Mill Creek.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home in Fostoria, Ohio. The family will receive guests one hour prior to

Beryl Piper Elliot, 98, of Green Bank, died Monday, June 5, 2006, in
Pocahontas Memorial Hospital at Marlinton.

Wilma J. Ellyson
Wilma June Ellyson, 67, of Volga, died at 3:25 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22,
2006, in St. Joseph’s Hospital at Buckhannon.
She was born, Dec. 21, 1938, in Braxton County, a daughter of Lucy Canter
Wilmoth of Volga and the late James “Bill” Wilmoth.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rosalie Wilson of Apple Creek, Ohio and
Barbara Renee Beckner; one son, Marcus Steven Messenger of Columbus, Ohio; one
granddaughter, Vanessa June Blagg of Apple Creek, Ohio; and two grandsons,
George Gregory Blagg Jr. and David Charles Blagg, both of Apple Creek, Ohio.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, William Arnold Carper and Charles
Eugene Carper; one granddaughter, Devetta Rose Blagg; two sisters, Barbara Ellen
Green and Bonnie Wilmoth; and one brother, Orville Eugene “Buck” Wilmoth.
She was a homemaker.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Poling-St. Clair Funeral
Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the funeral
home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant

Emma J. Elmer
Emma Jean Elmer, 70, of Route 2, French Creek, died Thursday, Aug. 24,
2006, in Presbyterian Hospital at Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born Oct. 4, 1935, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late John R. and
Zeta Viola Jane Loudin Hurst.
She was united in marriage on July 22, 1955, to Donald Ray Elmer, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six daughters, Donna Reed and
husband, Danny, of Tallmansville, Debora Malcolm and husband, Joe, of French
Creek, June Moran and husband, Roger, of Century, Twila McClain and husband,
Herbie, of French Creek, Peggy Dahlheim and husband, William, of Buckhannon and
Vickie Hardman and husband, David, of Jessup, Md.; 14 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill D. Hurst of Morgantown, Robert D.
Hurst of Buckhannon and John O. Hurst of French Creek; one sister, Floy
“Sis” Hurst Burr of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
Emma Jean was a member of the Ingo Community Church.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Heavner & Cutright
Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral
chapel with the Rev. Cecil Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel

Judith Lee Guire Elmore, 63, a resident of Norton, departed this life

Judith L. Elmore
Judith Lee Guire Elmore, 63, a resident of Marstiller Place, Norton,
departed this life Tuesday morning, Nov. 7, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
Death was attributed to cancer.
She was born Thursday, July 1, 1943, at Mabie, a daughter of the late Frank
Guire and Julia Belan Guire.
On July 16, 1961, at Chester, she was married to Ray H. Elmore, who preceded her
in death April 23, 1987.
Surviving are four sons, Curtis R. Elmore and wife, Crystal, of Coalton, Timothy
A. Elmore and wife, Connie, of Norton, Randall N. Elmore and wife, Pam, of
Norton and Rodney L. Elmore and wife, Ginger, of Elkins; one daughter, Teresa D.
Elmore of Norton; three sisters, Mary Francis Shepherd and husband, Earl, of
Chester, Lorraine Killingsworth of Norton and Kathryn Fleece of Mabie; nine
grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Sheena, Wesley, Amy, Cassie and Cody Elmore, all
of Norton, Chelsea and Zackary Elmore, both of Elkins; two great-grandchildren,
Brandon Elmore and Karah Bennett; both of Norton; and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Joseph Guire.
She was a graduate of Coalton High School as the valedictorian of her class in
1961. She had worked for Family Health Services for many years, as an associate
agent for Jon Parrack Insurance for several years, as a receptionist for Dr.
Morgan Jones for several years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the
Saint Patrick Catholic Church at Coalton. She loved spending time with family
and friends and was a loving mother to all and will be sadly missed

p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. On Friday at 7 p.m., a prayer service will be recited by
the Rev. Fr. William Anderson at the funeral home. On Saturday morning, Nov. 11,
Mrs. Elmore will be moved to Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton where

Mary Lou Carr England, a resident of Montrose and more recently a
resident of Elkins Regional Convalescent Center at Elkins, departed this life
early this morning, Jan. 12, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins.

Mary L. England
Mary Lou Carr England, 74, a resident of Montrose and more recently a
resident of Elkins Regional Convalescent Center at Elkins, went home to be with
her Lord and Savior and loved ones late Wednesday evening, Jan. 11, 2006, in
Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins. She had been in declining health.
She was born Wednesday, June 17, 1931, at Pheasant Run, a daughter of the late
Russell Forrester Lee Carr and Lovie Esta Moran Carr.
On July 3, 1950, at Parsons, she was married to Robert Chesley England, who
survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven Duane England and wife, Patricia, of
Concord, Ohio, and Randy Gene England and Lana Butcher of Elkins; two daughters,
Connie Lou Gainer and husband, Kevin, of Kerens and Donna Lee Jeffries and
husband, Jim, of Montrose; one brother, Harry “Sonny” Carr and wife, Carol, of
Morgantown; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in
death by one son, Dennis Lane England; three brothers, Vincent, Earl and Alton
“Remus” Carr; one infant brother, Russell; and one sister; Betty Oldaker.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1949. She was a
clerk for the former G.C. Murphy Co. and the former J&H Market, and she was a
homemaker. She taught piano lessons. She played piano for Hart Chapel Church in
Kerens, the Riverview Chapel Church in Porterwood and the Refuge Church at
Gilman, and she was the piano player for Lohr & Barb Funeral Home for many
years. She was the piano player and was lead singer for the Carr Trio. Mary Lou
was famous for her renditions of “Miss Know It All.” She loved working on word
search puzzles. She was known for her wit, humor and relentless orneriness.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of
Elkins today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral
home chapel Saturday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. Pastor Kevin Gainer will officiate and

Donald M. Ervin
Donald Max Ervin, 61, of Left Hand, died Jan. 20, 2006, at home after a long
illness.
He was born April 22, 1944, in Fairmont, to Mazie “Jean” Woods Ervin of
French Creek and the late Goff Ervin.
He is survived by his wife, Veronnica Gayle Ervin; one daughter, Erika Dawn
Ervin of Raleigh, N.C., and her fiancé, Michael Dyer; stepdaughter, Sharon
McKeny Lord and her husband, Greg R. Lord, of Charleston; brother, Richard
“Dick” Ervin, and sister, Shelia Hobbs, both of French Creek, and a sister,
Stella Keesor of Clayton, N.C. He is also survived by several nieces and
nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria D. Ervin.
Don was administrator of the Charleston Work/Study Release Center from 1982
until he retired in June 2004. He was chief of police in Buckhannon from 1976
through 1978. He was an honored employee of the West Virginia Division of
Corrections from 1978 through 2004, for a total of 36 years and 3 months of
dedicated public service.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Heavner and
Cutright Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon with the Rev. Robert F. Heavner
officiating. Burial will be in the French Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends
may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Don will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the

Mildred Grace Eshelman, 96, of Davis, passed away Feb. 14, 2006, at her
residence.

Mildred Grace Eshelman, 96, of Davis, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14,
2006, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 18, 1909, at Davis, a daughter of the late George Henry and
Bessie Bell Twigg Eshelman.
She is survived by her niece Betsy and the Rev. James Martin of Davis; nephews,
Wayne C. and Betty Spiggle of Keyser and George Allen and Nancy Spiggle of
Prestonsburg, Ky.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Eshelman, Isabelle Spiggle and
Ruth Edwards. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Miss Eshelman was a retired school teacher, having taught 42 years in Tucker
County, first at the Cosner and Cortland Schools in Canaan Valley, and finishing
her career at Davis and Mountaineer High Schools. She was a lifelong member of
Davis United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was also a member
of the Retired Teachers Association.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home of Davis from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 18,
at Davis United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Morrison and the Rev. James
Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery at Davis. Hinkle

Luella M. Eubank
Luella Mae Hamrick Eubank, 94, of Burke, Va., formerly of Marlinton and
Elkins, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at the Burke Health Care Center.
Luella was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith.
Luella was born Aug. 4, 1912, at Mingo, the daughter of the late Jerry and
Maggie Ruckman Hamrick.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Robert Oswald Eubank; a son, Gene
Harold Butcher; a sister, Caroline Marstiller; three brothers, Virgil, Donnie
and Edwin Hamrick preceded her in death.
Her daughters, Mary Katherine Copsey of Burke, Va., Margaret Ann Church of Las
Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive her.
Rev. Lucy Youngblood held services Thursday, Sept. 21, at VanReenen Funeral Home
in Marlinton. Burial followed in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton. From

Rissie E. Chenoweth Evans, 93, a resident of Elkins, passed away Sunday

Rissie E. Evans
Rissie E. Chenoweth Evans, 93, a resident of Elkins, passed away Sunday
morning, Nov. 5, 2006, in Mansfield Place in Philippi.
She was born April 18, 1913, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Holtie Arch and
Belva Chenoweth.
On Aug. 21, 1944, in Elkins, she was married to Ralph Russell Evans who preceded
her in death on Sept. 22, 1994.
Surviving are a sister, Eula Mae Harrington of Baltimore, Md.; and several
nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Millard Stetson Chenoweth and
Clee “Bus” Chenoweth; and four sisters, Virginia Birdie Johnson, Lozy Ryder,
Hilda Heckle and Cleo Magee.
Mrs. Evans attended the schools of Randolph County and was a homemaker. She was
a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in
Elkins. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, from the funeral
home chapel with the Rev. Leon Hevener officiating. Interment will follow in

Boyd H. Everson
Boyd Homer Everson, 91, a resident of Point Pleasant Road, Belington,
died Friday, evening, April 21, 2006, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 14, 1914, near Belington, a son of the late James Elmer and
Alice Virginia (Daugherty) Everson.
On May 29, 1937, he married the former Velma Roberta Shaffer, who survives at
their Point Pleasant Road home.
Also surviving are four sons, DeWayne Everson of Belington, Lawrence Everson and
wife, Beverly, of Newport, Mich., Gary Everson and wife, Dottie, of Greensburg,
Pa., and Philip Everson and wife, Noi, of Wilkesboro, N.C.; three daughters,
Martha Lea McCann and husband, George, Diana Talbott and husband, Marvin, all of
Belington and Shirley Whitesell and husband, Harry, of Philippi; two brothers,
Hobert Everson of Little Rock, Ark., and Bretsell Everson, Erie, Pa.; 17
grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Everson, Lena Everson
and Georgia Booth; three brothers, Andrew Herbert Everson, Harry Everson and
Mark Everson; and a granddaughter, Roberta Everson.
Mr. Everson was a former coal miner, construction worker and Department of
Highways employee and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Belington
Church of Christ and was a former member of the Barbour County Fair Association.
He was a former member of the Sportsman’s Club and was an avid deer hunter and
coon hunter.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel,
609 Crim Ave. in Belington at 2 p.m. today. Michael Phillips, minister of the
Belington Church of Christ will officiate and interment will follow in the
Barbour Memorial Cemetery.
Friends called at the funeral home Sunday and today until 2 p.m. Schoonover-Stemple

Irene Waggy Eye, 78, of Waynesboro, Va., and formerly of Franklin, died
Thursday, April 6, 2006, in Augusta Medical Center at Fishersville, Va.

Virginia H. Eye, 85, a resident of Deer Run Road, Franklin, passed away
Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at the Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin.
Mrs. Eye was born Feb. 3, 1920, at Huttonsville, a daughter of the late Rufus
Swecker and Bessie Newhouse Swecker.
She was united in marriage to Earl H. Eye who preceded her in death Sept. 23,
2004.
Mrs. Eye is survived by one daughter, Jean Andrews of Keezletown, Va.; two sons,
Dr. Earl “Butch” Eye Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Neal Eye of Franklin;
two sisters, Edna Chaney of Mill Creek and Dolly Cromer of Norton, Ohio; one
brother, Orville Swecker of Huttonsville; and one grandchild.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steven
Whitney Eye; two brothers, Charles Swecker and Dewey Swecker; and one sister,
Doris Swecker.
She was a homemaker, farmer and a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist
Church.
The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Basagic
Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at
the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Tribett officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the
