Dennis Gregory “Bojangles” Jack, 46, a resident of Huttonsville, passed away
unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at his home.
He was born April 22, 1959, at Buckhannon, a son of Dean Jack of Dailey and the
late Izetta Currence Jack.
He was married to Julie Spencer Jack, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Carlene Rader and husband, Matthew, of
Mill Creek; a son, Jason Gregory Jack of Elkins; two stepsons, Samuel Parrish
and Kenneth Roy, both of Harman; his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Betty
Jack of Buckhannon; his stepmother, Vi Jack, of Dailey; two brothers, Clark
“Buzz” Jack and wife, Faye, of Dailey and Windel Jack and wife, Barbara, of
Huttonsville; three sisters, Charlotte Wendorf and husband, Ed, of Homer, Mich.,
Sherley Jack of Triangle, Va., and Doris Sharp and husband, Claude Sharp Jr., of
Marlinton; three grandchildren, Christopher and Carleigh Rader and Hope Carr;
and several nieces and nephews.
Greg was employed as a welder for J.F. Allen Corp. He enjoyed Nascar and auto
mechanics and was a Methodist by faith.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in
Elkins. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, from the funeral
home chapel with the Rev. William “Wink” Lanham officiating. Interment will

Alberta S. Jackson
Alberta “Bertie” Stalnaker Jackson passed away in Texas.
She was born June 20, 1929, in Monterville, a daughter of the late Icie Ellen
Simmons and George Cameron Stalnaker. She attended the Tygart Valley schools,
West Virginia University and North Texas State University. She graduated with a
bachelor’s degree in economics from North Texas State.
She served an internship at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Mich., in preparation
for registration as a licensed dietician. She was employed in the burn unit at
Parkland Hospital and later was the dietetic supervisor at Grace Presbyterian
Village in Dallas, Texas. She founded and operated Dallas Dietetics Inc. and
consulted with many small hospitals and nursing homes to maintain their
compliance with state regulations.
“Bertie” was past president of Harvey Woman’s Club, member of the club’s
Permanent Board, a member of the Mardi Gras Krewe of Revelry, member of the
First Presbyterian Church of Palestine, an elder of the Presbyterian Church and
chairman of the Bereavement Committee.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harry C. Jackson; son, Ronald
Cameron Jackson; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Shanan Jackson;
granddaughter, Eryn Lindsey Jackson; and grandson, Ian Campbell Jackson. Also
surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Francis and Bernie Stotler of
Berkeley Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Edna Jean Stalnaker of
Lewisburg; and sister, Mildred Stalnaker Harmon of Greensboro, N.C.
Condolence calls may be made from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bailey &
Foster Funeral Home in Palestine, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 10
a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at First Presbyterian Church in Palestine, Texas, with

She was born Oct. 31, 1915, in Jenningston, a daughter of the late Thomas
Jefferson and Arbanna Wyatt Long.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle C. James, on May 25, 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Ellen Laws of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Sandra Lawson
of Maumee, Ohio; two sisters, Nellie McCray of Davis and Ruth Humbertson of
Hagerstown, Md.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three sons, Robert, Bill and Dennis “Butch”
James; one granddaughter, Denise; three brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. James was a homemaker and was a member of Hambleton United Methodist
Church.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home Saturday. Funeral services were

Rebecca Geraldine Jediny, 65, of 10 Nona St., Buckhannon, departed this life on
Friday, April 29, 2005, at 1:30 a.m. in the St. Joseph’s Hospital in
Buckhannon.
She was born Dec. 30, 1939, in Hacker Valley, a daughter of the late Bennett
McCartney and Clarinda Bachman McCartney.
She is survived by one sister, Mae Collins of Buckhannon; several nieces and
nephews including her niece, Diana Wilfong Riffle of French Creek; and a special
friend and caregiver, Gregory of Buckhannon.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Luvada McCartney Hickman; and three
brothers, William E. McCartney, George H. McCartney and Isaac F. McCartney.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour, at
the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery in Selbyville.

Betty Jane Jenkins, 71, a resident of Route 2, Hackers Creek, Philippi, passed
away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, in United Hospital Center.
She was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late William and
Fannie E. Collins.
Surviving are four daughters, Sandra and husband, Theodore Edison, of Philippi,
Rita and husband, Michael Minix, of Philippi, Barbara and husband, Glenn Nestor
of Thornton and Michelle and husband, David Kutchko, of Pennsylvania; two sons,
Terry Lee Jenkins and Chester D. Jenkins Jr., both of Philippi; one sister,
Linda Collins of Philippi; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Harris, Stephanie and
husband, Christopher Poe, Teddy Edison, Misty Nestor, Danielle Nestor, Derek
Jenkins, Mariah Kutchko, Brianna Kutchko, Shaleah Jenkins, Jamie Minix and
Ashley Minis; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Poe, Bryson Poe, Camden Poe,
Tyrese Mayle, Paige Berg, Mackenzie Berg and Jerome Nestor.
Ms. Jenkins was preceded in death by five sisters, Thelma Stevens, Pricilla
Miner, Octavia Newman, Myrtle Miner and Millie Lantz; and one brother, Floyd
Collins.
Ms. Jenkins was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.

Louise E. Jenkins
Louise Eleanor Jenkins, 90, of Davis passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2005,
at Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas.
She was born Sept. 20, 1915, at Davis, a daughter of the late Fredolph and
Thekla Victoria Anderson Bergstrom.
Her husband, William Hewlett Jenkins, preceded her in death in 1936.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Jean and husband, Dale Van Meter, of
Old Town, Md.; two sisters, Eloise Bachtel and Elsie Bible, both of Davis; three
grandchildren, Gene and Michelle Davis, Deborah and Pat Howard, and Eric and
Teri Davis; four great-grandchildren, Matt, Drew, Sonya and Shawn; and one
stepgreat-grandson, Thomas.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Ellery, Harry and Albert; and
three sisters, Ruby, Ellen and Edith.
Mrs. Jenkins was a retired school secretary having worked for 40 years in the
Davis and Mountaineer High Schools. She was also employed at Blackwater Lodge in
the gift shop. She was a lifelong member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church, the
Retired Teachers Association and the Tuesday Nite Club.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis Wednesday from 4 p.m.
to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the Hinkle Funeral Chapel Thursday, Dec.
29, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Poerschke officiating. Interment will follow in

Lillian Johnkoski, 92, a resident of 34 Boyd St., Elkins, passed away at 12:34

Lillian H. Johnkoski, 92, a resident of 34 Boyd St., Elkins, passed away at
12:34 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital emergency
department.
She was born Dec. 19, 1912, at Job, a daughter of the late James Phillip Heltzel
and Lena Roberson Heltzel.
In 1932, she was married to Vincent Johnkoski. The Johnkoskis celebrated 55
years of marriage prior to Mr. Johnkoski’s death in 1988.
Surviving are a son, Vincent H. Johnkoski and wife, Phoebe Hickman Johnkoski, of
Elkins. A sister, Jearline Hatch of Elkins; a brother, C. Keith Heltzel of Baton
Rouge, La.; a granddaughter, Terri Phipps and husband, Mark; and three
great-grandchildren, Samantha, John and Emily Phipps, all of Cornelius, N.C.,
also survive.
Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Vince A. Johnkoski.
Mrs. Johnkoski was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1930 and
attended Davis & Elkins College. She was a homemaker and a member of First
United Methodist Church of Elkins.

Boscoe Johnson
Boscoe Johnson, 78, a resident of Franklin, died
Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
He was born April 3, 1926, at Ruddle, a son of the late William Claude Johnson
and Alpha Hartman Johnson.
He was married to Alice Rettie Hedrick Johnson, who survives in Franklin.
Also surviving are one daughter, Linda Owen of Crimora, Va.; one son, Tom
Johnson of Franklin; one sister, Myrtle Johnson, of Franklin; one brother, Leo
Johnson of Huttonsville; and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Robert, Morris, Arvel, Brozie and
Roy; and one sister, Margie Simpson Clower.
He was retired from West Virginia Department of Agriculture, Tree Disease
Prevention, after 35 years. He attended Franklin Presbyterian Church.

Geneva Bea Woods Johnson, 81, of St. Albans, died July 15, 2005, at Thomas
Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.
She was a member of Riverlawn Presbyterian Church in St. Albans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ray Johnson.
She is survived by her sons, Ross Johnson of Charleston, Don Johnson and wife,
Darlene, of Kenna and Andy Johnson of St. Albans; and five grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.

Pamela Jane Johnson, 29, a resident of 119 Heavener Ave., Elkins, and a student
at the West Virginia University College of Law in Morgantown, departed this life
Monday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She had been in her usual
health and death was sudden and unexpected.
She was born Friday, May 9, 1975, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Quinton
James Johnson and Carolyn Sprouse Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, James Charles Johnson of Elkins; three half
brothers, Michael B. Sprouse and wife, Anita, of Glenville, Michael Q. Johnson
of Knoxville, Tenn., and Kerry Stephen Johnson of Ripley; two nieces, Valeri and
Hilari Sprouse, both of Glenville; two nephews, Quinton and Adam Johnson, both
of Charleston; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding her in death besides her father were her paternal grandparents,
Charles Manly Johnson and Lillian Bernice Brooks Johnson; and her maternal
grandparents, Ernest and Hazel Carpenter Sprouse.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1993, was a graduate
of Fairmont State College with a bachelor’s degree in biology, had attended
Marshall University Medical School, and was a senior at the West Virginia
University College of Law. She had played the trumpet with the Elkins High
School Band, had been a member of the track team, loved outdoor activities such
as hiking, mountain biking and camping, had developed a passion for photography,
and had often referred to herself as a “career student.” She was a Christian
by faith.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins
today from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted
at the funeral home chapel Friday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Mike Reynolds will

Quinton J. Johnson
Quinton James Johnson, 76, a resident of 119 Heavener Ave., Elkins, departed
this life Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at the Davis Memorial Hospital where he had
been a patient for the last week. He had been in declining health for the past
four years.
He was born Thursday, Aug. 23, 1928, at Man, West Virginia, a son of the late
Charles Manly Johnson and Lillian Bernice Brooks Johnson.
On June 20, 1973, at Myrtle Beach, S.C., he was married to the former Carolyn
Sprouse, who survives.
Also surviving is one son, James Charles Johnson, Elkins; one daughter, Pamela
Jane Johnson, attending West Virginia University College of Law at Morgantown,
one stepson, Michael B. Sprouse and wife, Anita, Glenville; two sons from a
previous marriage, Michael Q. Johnson, Knoxville, Tenn., and Kerry Stephen
Johnson, Ripley; two stepgranddaughters, Valeri and Hilari Sprouse, Glenville;
two grandsons, Quinton and Adam, Charleston; and three brothers, Randolph
Johnson, Suffolk, Va., Robert Johnson, Fairfield, Calif., and Lewis Johnson,
Logan County, West Virginia.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were two sisters, Katherine and Alta
Marie “Snookie,” and four brothers, Willis, Albert, Chauncy and Vincent.
He graduated from Man High School, had attended Marshall University, graduated
from Fairmont State College and served as a paratrooper in the United States
Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed by the West Virginia Department of Welfare, the Department of
Human Services and the Department of Health and Human Resources for more than 30 years as a caseworker, a quality
control reviewer, and a hearings officer.
He was an early pioneer in the development and initiation of the first Food
Stamp program in the state of West Virginia. Following his retirement from the
state, he served as a care provider for several years with Appalachian Mental
Health, and his last employment was for Kroger, where he was injured in 2000 and
had to permanently retire.
He was a member of the H.W. Daniel’s Post No. 29, American Legion, and a
lifelong member of the Tygart Valley Post No. 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars
where he enjoyed visiting with his many friends and comrades. He was a member of
the Church of Christ at Logan County.
He devoted his life to serving and helping others. He donated blood regularly to
the Red Cross until his health prohibited it, and delivered Meals-on-Wheels for
a period of time. He will be sadly missed by his family, neighbors, and friends.
Friends will be received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Sunday
from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at 10 a.m., full military rites
will be accorded by members of the H.W. Daniel’s Post No. 29, American Legion
and the Tygart Valley Post No. 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Graveside
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the Turner Cemetery at Gilmer County
with the Rev.d Mike Reynolds officiating, and interment will follow. The family

Yvonne Q. Rosier Johnson, 65, a resident of Pasadena, Md., and formerly a
resident of Parsons, departed this life Monday morning, July 4, 2005, at the

Yvonne Q. Rosier Johnson, 65, a resident of 904 Alfred Drive, Pasadena, Md., and
formerly a resident of the Clover Run community, Parsons, departed this life
Monday morning, July 4, 2005, at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie, Md. She
had been in declining health for the past two years.
She was born Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1940 at Parsons, a daughter of the late Stephen
B. Rosier and Hallie C. Armstrong Rosier.
On Sept. 28, 1959, she was married to Earl Harold Johnson Sr., who survives at
Pasadena, Md.
Also surviving is one son, Earl H. Johnson Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Pasadena,
Md.; two daughters, Janet F. Smoot and husband, Chuck, of Glen Burnie, Md., and
Cindy K. Johnson, of Pasadena, Md.; three sisters, Katherine “Kate” Day and
husband, Jim, of Dryfork, Joan Akers and husband, Michael, of Montrose and Sarah
Wolford of Parsons; five grandchildren, Chuckie, Randy and Ryan Smoot and Kyle
and Shane Johnson.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1958, was a
homemaker, and a member of the Community Methodist Church at Pasadena, Md. She
enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, country music, singing, playing the guitar,
banjo, organ, and keyboard, but her real love was her family.

Barbara R. Jones, 80, of Valley Bend Road, Route 2, Belington, died late
Wednesday evening, June 29, 2005, at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 18, 1924, at Detroit, Mich., a daughter of the late Charles O.
and Jessie Rollins Davis.
On Jan. 31, 1942, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Stewart Jones, who
survives at their home on Valley Bend Road.
Also surviving are five sons, Ernest Jones and wife, Helen, Richard Jones and
wife, Linda, Kenneth Jones and wife, Ronda, Ronald Jones and wife, Rhonda, and
Edward Jones, all of Belington; one sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary E.) Vetters of
Greenfield, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, Scott Jones, Rodney Jones, Marjorie Posten,
Melissa Miller, Justin Jones, Karen Daugherty, Jason Jones, Holly Jones, Heather
Bowen, Angela Farr and Shannon Jones; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker. She was a member of the Valley Bend Baptist Church
where she had served for years as pianist and Sunday school teacher. She was a
member of the Hilltoppers Homemakers Club.

Bernice I. Jones
Bernice Irene Loughhead Jones, a resident of 456 Central St., Elkins, passed
away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 21, 1911, at Beulah, Pa., the only daughter of Augusta and
Palmer Loughhead.
She was married to Ralph E. Jones Sr., who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her five children, Janet Shears and husband, Richard, Judy
Vandenbergh and husband, David, Ralph Jones Jr. and wife, Shelva, William Jones
and wife, Judy, and Irene Marstiller. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren,
William “Bill” Moore, Thomas Moore, James Moore, Sheryl Mullennix, Debra
Gillispie, Louise McAtee, Brian Shears, David Shears, George “Skip”
Vandenbergh, Ann Vandenbergh, Amy Brodie, Lydia “Betsy” Stutler, Kim
McMillion, Pamela Smith and Amon Marstiller; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Lois Jones Moore, and two brothers,
Clair and Clifford Loughhead.
Mrs. Jones was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkins and active in
the United Methodist Women, Randolph Chapter No. 74 Order of the Eastern Star,
Davis & Elkins College Aid and was a volunteer at Davis Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Jones remains were cremated. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.
until 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at First United Methodist Church in Elkins. A
Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the church with the Rev.

Burl D. Jones, 82, a resident of 5 Vicksburg Road in Buckhannon, died Sunday,
May 8, 2005, at his home in Buckhannon.
He was born Aug. 25, 1922, at French Creek, a son of the late Ira Jones and
Goldie Duncan Jones.
On Oct. 3, 1942, he was united in marriage to Virginia Phillips Jones, who
survives in Buckhannon.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Sheets of Raleigh, N.C., and Debbie Weese
and husband, David, of Buckhannon; one grandson, Brandon Weese of Buckhannon;
two granddaughters, Stephanie Haglund of Raleigh, N.C., and Jessica Weese of
Bridgeport; one great-grandson, Kody Haglund of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother,
Arnold Jones of French Creek; and two sisters, Virginia Goodwin and Genevieve
Taylor, both of Buckhannon.
Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Keith Jones, Russell Jones,
Robert Noel Jones and Paul Jones; and one sister, Mary Jean Elbon.
He was an automotive parts salesman and attended Chapel Hill United Methodist
Church. He was a member of Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion, Buckhannon
BPOE Lodge 1736, Buckhannon Moose Lodge 598, Triple T. Campers Club and Kiwanis
Club, and was an avid camper and outdoorsman.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at
Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Wednesday from the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Stackpole officiating.

Elmer Frances Jones, 78, a resident of 1104 S. Henry Ave. in Elkins, passed away
Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Davis Memorial Hospital
Born Feb. 9, 1927, he was the son of the late John H. and Ora M. Vanscoy Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by a daughter, Diane Jones of Maryland; a son, Earl Jones
of Maryland; and one sister, Natalie Channel and husband, Don, of Salisbury, Md.
In addition, he is also survived by several grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews including Ed Phillips, Karen Koch, Deborah Helmick and Sherry Newlon;
and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, Betty Phillips, Naomi McDonald and
Irene Vanscoy; a brother, Harley Jones; and an adopted son, Howard Jones
Williams.
Elmer was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army during World War II and the
Korean conflict. He was a laborer and farmer and worked for various lumber
mills. He retired from American Standard Sanitary Corp. in Baltimore, Md. His
last job was that of security guard for Labcraft. Mr. Jones was a member of the
Jehovah’s Witness Church. He will be deeply missed by those that loved him and
will remain forever in their hearts.
Friends will be received at 7 p.m. Saturday at F.E. Runner Funeral Home and Paul
Christianson, friend and member of the Elkins congregation of Jehovah’s
Witness, will speak at 8 p.m. After the visitation, the deceased will be

John F. Jones, 62, a resident of Kewanee, Ill, passed away at 1:50 a.m.
Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Royal Oaks Nursing Home in Kewanee, Ill.
He was born May 18, 1942, in Pulaski, Va., a son of the late Delbert and Lucille
Reeder Jones.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Jones.
Surviving are one son, Richard Jones of Myrtle Beach, S.C.: two daughters,
Jennifer Jones of Spanaway, Wash. and Laurie Combee of Seattle, Wash.; one
brother, William “Bill” Jones of Philippi; and four grandchildren,
Christopher, Chase, Casey and Paige.
Mr. Jones was an insurance adjuster for State Farm Insurance Co. in Fairmont for
20 years.

Loyd Paul Jones, 70, a resident of Monterville, passed away Thursday morning,
Jan. 27, 2005, in the United Hospital Center at Clarksburg. He was born Sept.
21, 1934, at Valley Head a son of the late Paul Morgan and Letha Mae Simmons
Jones Roberts. Surviving are two daughters, Carol A. Jones, of California and
Cheryl A. Jones Ferguson and husband, Brian of Chatham, Ontario, Canada; two
brothers, James Morgan Jones, of Monterville and Robert Lee Jones of Valley
Bend; three sisters, Irene Hannah, of Slatyfork, Frances Bender, of Huttonsville
and Judy Hamrick of Monterville; several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death was his stepfather, Paul John Roberts, stepmother,
Catherine Jones, half brother, Leslie R. Roberts, and two grandchildren.
Mr. Jones was a fork lift operator for General Motors Corp. in Ohio prior to his
retirement. He enjoyed flying airplanes, fishing, camping, hunting, boating, his
antique cars and riding his four-wheeler.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at the Tomblyn
Funeral Home in Elkins. On Monday, Jan. 31, he will be moved to the Valley Head

Modena Columbia Jones, 89, of Lima, Ohio, and formerly of Rowlesburg, died
Monday, March 28, 2005, in Lima, Ohio.
She was born July 24, 1915, in Rowlesburg, a daughter of the late Foster R. and
Eddith Hershman DeWitt.
She was a homemaker and a member of Etam United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four sons, John W. Jones and wife, Shirley, Roy H. Jones and
wife, Dottie, Lawrence H. Jones and wife, Mary, and Allen D. Jones, all of
Rowlesburg; four daughters, Flora K. Wolfe of Hundred, Dora E. Snyder of Lima,
Ohio, Gloria Mae Jackson and husband, Dean, of Mooresburg, Tenn., and Hilda Kay
Sypolt and husband, Glen, of Vermillion, Ohio; 30 grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Jones, in 1990.

William Ray Jones Jr., 78, of Worth Township, Butler County, Pa., passed away
Oct. 13, 2005, at his residence.
He was born in Coketon, Tucker County. He was the son of the late William Ray
Jones Sr. and Evelyn Pearl Shrader Jones.
Mr. Jones was retired from Allegheny County Port Authority and was a World War
II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Mae Summerfield Jones of Slippery Rock, Pa.; a
son, Richard A. Jones of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a daughter, Ellen J. McCaskey of New
Brighton, Pa.; a sister, Sandra K. Lilja of Bethel Park, Pa.; 11 grandchildren,
two stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Davis

Bennie Elsworth Jordan, 81, a resident of Hacker Valley, died Friday, Aug.
19, 2005, at Louise A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in

He was born Tuesday, Aug. 28, 1923, at Replete, a son of the late Bethel Jordan
and Melba Arbogast Jordan.
He was married to Sylvia June Jordan, who survives in Hacker Valley.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis Jordan of Canton, Ohio and Rick and wife,
Zelda Jordan, of Hacker Valley; two daughters, Loyce Jordan of Canton, Ohio and
Pamela and husband, Wayne Moats, of Hacker Valley; four brothers, Gueard and
wife, Pauline Jordan, of Webster Springs, Calvin and wife, Doris Jordan, of
Hacker Valley, Mike and wife, Vera Jordan, of Hacker Valley and Pat and wife,
Delores, of Buckhannon; two sisters, Hope and husband, Paul Fisher, of Replete
and Faith and husband, Jerry Berger, of Kanawha Head; 14 grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren, 11 nieces and eight nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Delmas Jordan,
and one sister, Virginia Lewis.
He was a dozer operator and truck driver and Methodist by faith. He attended
Long Run Nondenominational Church. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars
Addison McLouglin Post 3738, the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the service hour, with the Rev. Curt Davis of Webster Springs

Calvin “Chub” Jordan, 75, a resident of Hacker Valley, passed away
Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, in United Hospital Center at Clarksburg after a brief
illness.
He was born Thursday, Nov. 6, 1930, at Hacker Valley, a son of the late Bethel
Jordan and Melba Arbogast Jordan.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Jordan of Hacker Valley; one son Allen (Karen)
Jordan of Summersville; three daughters, Vivian (Max S.) Cochran of Augusta,
Peggy Jordan Harper of Kanawha Head and Becky (Guy) Cogar of Webster Springs;
three brothers, Geuard (Pauline) Jordan of Webster Springs, Patty (Delores)
Jordan of Buckhannon and Michael (Vera) Jordan of Cleveland; two sisters, Dolly
(Jerry) Berger of Cleveland and Hope (Paul) Fisher of Hacker Valley; nine
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jimmy Silmon of
Hacker Valley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Benny
(June) Jordan.
He was a lifelong resident of Webster County, a veteran of the Marine Corps
serving in Korea and a member of the Army National Guard of Buckhannon. He was a
bus driver for Webster County Board of Education and a Protestant by faith.

Daniel O. Jordan Sr.
Daniel Odell Jordan Sr., 50, passed away Jan. 24, 2005, in Taegu, Korea.
He was born Oct. 12, 1954, in Marlinton, the son of Phyllis Townsend Jordan of
Staunton, Va. and Curtis Eugene Jordan of Alabama.
He was a 1973 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville, Va. He
retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class and was a lifelong member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and of the Methodist faith.
At the time of his death, he was employed by the U.S. military as a training
officer for the 55th Theater Material Management Center, 8th U.S. Army in Taegu,
Korea.
Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ward and Ona Townsend
of Arbovale.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Townsend Jordan of Staunton, Va., and
Curtis Eugene Jordan of Alabama; two sons, Army Capt. Daniel Odell Jordan Jr. of
Fort Lee, Va., and Jason P. Jordan of Savannah, Ga.; and a daughter, Victoria J.
Jordan of Maryland. He is also survived by two sisters, Debbie Flickinger and
her husband, Jim, of Stuarts Draft, Va., and Denise Swortzel and her husband,
Scott, of Roanoke, Va.; and a brother, Jeff Jordan and his wife, Marie, of
Stuarts Draft, Va.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Amy Jordan, Mac Taylor Jr. and
Donnell Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his love of family, he was an avid collector and restorer of
classic cars.
A service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral
Home and Chapel in Arbovale and will be officiated by Chaplain Maj. Horsdorf.
Burial will be at Arbovale Cemetery with full military graveside honors.

Edna Summerfield Fox Jordan, 97, a former resident of Parsons, and for the past
five years she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Rada and Robert
Roy at Elkins, departed this life Sunday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2005, at her home.
She had been in declining health.
She was born Saturday, Aug. 3, 1907, at Hambleton, a daughter of the late
Alexander “Alex” and Laura June Phillips Summerfield.
She was twice married, first to Henry H. Fox during 1944, and second to Sampson
Jordan. Both preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Charles Fox of Elkins; three daughters, Rada Roy and
husband, Robert, and Pearl Jordan Mick, all of Elkins and Jean Jordan Hart of
Morgantown; three sisters, Rita Bennett, Nellie Lewis and Bess Tuesing, all of
Hambleton; seven grandchildren, Richard Dumire of Elkins, Janet Canfield of
Montrose, Ella Mae Dumire of Wilmington, Del., Gloria Fox of Parsons, Butch Fox
of Elkins, Pam Fox Bonner of Hambleton and Loretta Lawson of Maryland; 14
great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Robert Leon Fox and Harold Harrison Fox;
two brothers, Harry and Don Summerfield; and one sister, Margaret Summerfield.
She attended the one-room school at Fork Mountain, and was a member of the
Church of the Brethren at Hambleton. She loved her garden, and enjoyed life with
a smile even during hardships, she never complained about anything.

Frances and Louise Travis Hensley Jordan.

wife, Grace, of Topeka, Kan., Charles Frances Jordan Jr. and wife, Sandra, of
Elkins and Robert Daniel Jordan of Bumpass, Va.; 12 grandchildren, Trista,
Trenton, Bryan “BJ,” Noah and Kaden Jordan, Emily, Lukas, Gabriel and
Matthew Jordan, Philip D. Jordan II, Sophia Jordan and Hunter Lewis; and one
great-grandson, Elijah Jordan.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Matthew Collins.
Mr. Jordan attended Homestead School and went on to graduate from Elkins High
School with the class of 1962. He graduated from Davis & Elkins College with
a degree in accounting. He was also a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute of
Maryland with a degree in automotive technology.
He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam
era. He was also a member of the National Guard with the 119 Special Forces
Airborne Unit of Kingwood. Phil was a quality living assistant for ResCare Inc.
of Elkins. He was the former owner and operator of Dailey Service Center and at
the time of his death he was employed by Jordan Realty as an accountant and
bookkeeper. Phil was also the manager of Charlie’s Exxon for several years. He
was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and camping trips with his family.
He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by
those who loved him. Mr. Jordan was a Christian by faith and supported the
Messiah Ministries of Sanford, N.C.
Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel today after 6 p.m.
On Saturday, Mr. Jordan will be moved to Faith Baptist Chapel near Beverly for
visitation from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Ronald Roy, pastor
of the Messiah Ministries of Sanford, N.C., will officiate. Interment will
follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens, formerly the IOOF Cemetery, at Elkins, where
the Alpha Battery 201-A will conduct full military service. F.E. Runner Funeral
Home is in charge of the arrangements for Philip Beaumont “Phil” Jordan.

Aldah C. Judy
Aldah Cordelia Lambert Judy, 85, of Upper Tract, died Sunday, Dec 4,
2005, at her home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at
Schaeffer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the
funeral home with the Rev. Stanley Kile and Pastor Randy Ours officiating.
Interment will follow in Bowers Cemetery at Upper Tract. From 6 Dec

C. Keith Judy
C. Keith Judy, 98, a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins, formerly
of Circleville, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at Nella’s Nursing Home in
Elkins. Death was attributed to heart failure.
He was born Sept. 22, 1907, at Circleville, a son of the late William A. Judy
and Ona Lambert Judy.
At Hagerstown, Md., he was married to Mabel Claire Nelson, who survives at
Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins.
Also surviving is one sister, Mary Leah Cochran of Huntington
Preceding him in death were one daughter, Naomi Ruth Judy; and six brothers,
Kerlin Judy, O. Bard Judy, J. Norris Judy and three young children.
He was a teacher at Circleville School and a member of Circleville United
Methodist Church. He was a 50-year superintendent of Circleville United
Methodist Church, a 4-H All Star, the last surviving charter member of Spruce
Mountain Ruritan Club and a member of Retired Teachers with 43 years of
teaching.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Basagic Funeral Home in
Franklin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Circleville United
Methodist church with the Rev. Earl Bible assisted by the Rev. Stanley Kile
officiating. Interment will follow in Wimer Cemetery at Circleville. Basagic

Carol F. Judy
Carol Faye Lambert Judy, 63, a resident of Beverly, passed away Tuesday morning,
Nov. 8, 2005, in Madison Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Morgantown
following an extended illness.
She was born July 13, 1942, at Parsons, the daughter of Benson F. Lambert and
Ruby Gaye Good Lambert.
On Nov. 28, 1968, at Red Creek, she was married to Donald J. Judy, who survives
at Beverly.
She is survived by her father; Benson F. Lambert of Melbourne, Fla.; two
brothers, James Lambert of Hendricks and David Lambert of Melbourne, Fla.; and
her mother-in-law, Thelma H. Judy of Mill Creek.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Gaye Good Lambert.
She was a graduate of Thomas High School with the class of 1960 and graduated
from the Capitol City School of Nursing in Washington, D.C., on June 3, 1963.
She was a registered nurse, having worked for Davis Memorial Hospital for many
years, where she was instrumental in starting the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Carol was co-owner of Judy Fencecraft in Bartow for 35 years prior to her
retirement in January 2005. Among her many interests, Carol was a certified
private pilot, a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society,
American Nurses Society and Beverly Womans Club.

Elkins. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, from the funeral

Daniel W. Judy
Daniel Wayne Judy, 42, a resident of HC 73, Box 38, Riverton, died Tuesday,
April 5, 2005, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown.
He was born May 28, 1962, at Petersburg, the son of James O. Judy and Juanita
Carr Judy of Petersburg.
He was married to Linda Jane Sites Judy, who survives in Riverton.
Also surviving are four sons, Brian Sites of Keyser, Ethan Judy and Adam Judy,
both of Riverton, and Joshua Judy of Petersburg; and one sister, Jamie Donaldson
of Dorcas.
Preceding him in death were one son, Cole Alan Judy, and one niece, Savannah
Donaldson.
He was a graduate of Petersburg High and a mechanic for Petersburg Motors,
Riverton Welding and Trent Veach Chevrolet.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Basagic Funeral Home in
Petersburg. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel
with Pastor Ken Martin and Pastor Larry Showalter officiating. Interment will
follow in North Fork Memorial Cemetery at Riverton. Memorials may be made to The
