Katherine G. Iden
Katherine Grace “Kay” Iden, 88, a resident of 48 W. Lincoln St. in
Buckhannon, died at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at her home in
Buckhannon.
She was born March 22, 1916, at Davis, a daughter of the late Dr. A.R. Crawford
and Grace Markle Crawford.
She was married to C. Fred Iden, who preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1989.
She is survived by twin daughters, Barbara Rexroad and Marie Manley, both of
Buckhannon; one son, John Iden and wife, Rose, of Hagerstown, Md.; five
granddaughters, Stephenie Rexroad and Ann Manley, both of Buckhannon, Mary Kay
Iden of Hagerstown, Md. and twins, Jennifer Rexroad and Jack Kort of
Gaithersburg, Md. and Barbara Jane and husband, Rob Snyder, of Potomac, Md.; two
grandsons, Bob Manley of Buckhannon and Tim Rexroad of Annandale, Va.; two
great-granddaughters, Katherine “Pei Pei” Rexroad and Stephenie “Mei Mei”
Rexroad, both of Buckhannon; one great-grandson, William Nathan Rexroad-Snyder
of Potomac, Md.; one sister, Anna Wray Seaver of Ft. Worth, Texas; and several
sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon and a Sunday school
teacher there for many years. She was a 50-year member of Chapter 18 Order of
Eastern Star. She was one of the founding members of the Buckhannon Welcome Club
and a former member of Buckhannon Women’s Club.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair
Funeral Home, at 8 p.m. Buckhannon Chapter 18 Order of Eastern Star will hold a
memorial service. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the funeral
home with the Rev. John Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Heavner
Cemetery at Buckhannon. From 14 Feb 2005.
Scott Idleman
Scott Idleman, 93, of Mount Storm, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at Grant
Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home with the
Rev. Paul Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Storm Cemetery at

Dennis R. Ireland
Dennis R. Ireland, 43, a resident of Buckhannon, died Monday, June 27, 2005, at
New Martinsville.
He was born April 11, 1962, in Upshur County, a son of the late John and Betty
Lou Mathews Ireland.
He was married to Saundra Cogar Ireland of Buckhannon.
Surviving are two children, Christine Ireland and Justin Ireland, both of
Buckhannon; one sister, Linda George and husband, Reece, of Richmond, Va.; and
three brothers, John M. Ireland of Charleston, David K. Ireland and wife,
Debbie, of Raleigh, N.C. and Arthur J. Ireland.
He was a salesman and served with the U.S. Marines.
Private family graveside services were held Thursday, June 30, at Mt. Lebanon
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ireland family.

Alvin W. Irons
Alvin Willard Irons, 68, a resident of the Pheasants Run community and more
recently a resident of Main Street, Parsons, departed this life late Thursday
evening, April 28, 2005, at his home. He had been in declining health and death
was attributed to cancer.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are under the direction of the Lohr and
Barb Funeral Home for Alvin W. Irons. From 29 Apr 2005.
Alvin W. Irons
Alvin Willard Irons, 68, a resident of the Pheasant Run community and a resident
of Main Street, Parsons, departed this life Thursday evening, April 28, 2005, at
his home. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.
He was born Saturday, June 6, 1936, at Pheasant Run, a son of the late Leo
Willard Irons and Ruby Evelyn Wilmoth Irons.
He was twice married. First, he was married to Eleanor Frances Barnhart, who
preceded him in death in August 1960. On April 10, 1971, at Porterwood, he was
married to the former Carolyn R. Davis, who survives at Parsons.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jacquelyn L. Pritt and husband, Dirk, of
Philippi; one sister, Janet M. Swecker and husband, Keith, of Valley Head; one
granddaughter, Skyler M. Lamb of Parsons; two nephews, Nicholas C. Gidley and
Hunter S. Elza; and two nieces, Tracey L. Elza and husband, William, and Connie
J. Cope and husband, Jeff, all of Kerens.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1954. He attended
West Virginia University. He was a former employee of Kingsford Charcoal Co.,
Buffalo Coal Co. and Grafton Coal Co., and a water analyst for the Environmental
Protection Agency. He worked for the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins and
Parsons for many years and, at the time of his death, he served as pastor of the
Sugarland Church of the Brethren and the Glady Church of the Brethren. He sang
with the Iron’s Family Quartet and he was an avid fisherman and hunter.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons
today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home
parlor on Sunday at 1 p.m. Pastor Dick Gadd and Pastor Peg Harris Fansler will
officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons Family Cemetery at Shavers
Fork. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for

Donley R. Isaacs
Donley Ray “Don” Isaacs, 79, of Youngtown, Ariz., and formerly of Mount
Storm, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Odyssey Health Care, Peoria, Ariz.
There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Storm Cemetery at
Mount Storm with the Rev. Clifford G. Schell officiating. From 7 May 2005.
Elaine L. Isch
Elaine Louise Isch, 50, a former resident of Pickens, passed away at 6:35 a.m.
Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, in Talbott Personal Care Home at Belington.
She was born Dec. 15, 1954, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Ernest Lawrence
Isch and Margaret Katherina Egleson Isch.
She was never married.
Friends may call Saturday at Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins from 9 a.m. until
10:15 a.m. Ms. Isch will be moved to the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at
Gilman where graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Chuck
Vorderberg officiating. Interment will follow. Memorial donations may be made to
the Helvetia Chimes, HC 70 Box 2, Helvetia, W.Va. 26224. Tomblyn Funeral Home of

Richard G. Isner
Richard Garhart Isner of Glouster, Va., passed Dec. 16, 2005, from
complications related to a broken hip.
Richard was born Nov. 22, 1921, at Elkins, the son of the late Omer and Agnes
Isner.
Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Omer Isner and Robert Isner; and
two sisters, Helen Saffol and Dolores McInnes.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Isner; son, Richard Garhart Isner Jr.; daughter,
Catherine Isner Lasseigne; son-in-law, Paul Lasseigne; two grandchildren, James
and Charlotte Lasseigne, all of Glouster, Va.; and brother, Alfred Harold Isner
of North Carolina. From 27 Dec 2005.
