Donna Mae Everett Yokum, 70, a resident of Beverly, departed this life Thursday morning, Jan. 29, 2004, at her home. Death was unexpected.
She was born Friday, June 2, 1933, at Elkins, the daughter of the late Ralph Arlington Everett and Beulah Effie Kerns Everett.
On March 9, 1952, she was married to Clarence W. Yokum, Jr., who preceded her in death May 19, 1998. They had celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Surviving are one son, Terry Yokum of Seaside, Ore.; one brother, Gerard Everett of Elkins; one sister, LuElla Rutherford of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Emily Morgan Yokum and Lauren Yokum, both of Seaside, Ore.
She graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 1951, attended Davis & Elkins College and worked for the Department of Health and Human Resources as a receptionist.
She was a member of the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Beverly Presbyterian Church.
At the request of the deceased, her remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Beverly Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Joanne Glaser will officiate. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Beverly Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 206, Beverly, W.Va. 26253, or to the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 135, Beverly, W. Va. 26253. Mary Yokum, 77, a former resident of Huttonsville and a resident of Valley Bend, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Mary Yokum, 77, a former resident of Huttonsville and a resident of Valley Bend, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Reading, Pa., the daughter of the late Samuel and Jenny Burnett Mazzurco.
She was married to John Nephi Yokum Sr., who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Paul David (Mary) Huffman of Valley Bend; five sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Potts, Council Bluff, Mo., Catherine Guthrie, Ester Mazzurco, Gloria Flynn and Mrs. Wallace (Elizabeth) Woods, all of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren, Mrs. Robbie (Sarah) Serrett, Mrs. Greg (Patricia) Haddix, Michael Huffman and wife, Penny, Heather Band and husband, Doug, John Nephi Yokum III, whom Mrs. Yokum adopted, and his wife, April, and Samuel Yokum; 13 great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Anthony and Eric Davis, Andrew Serrett, Ashley, Jacob and Joseph Yokum, Steven Hight, Cortney Haddix, Abigail Haddix, Quincy, Jalin and Kailob Band; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Shalynn Burge and Nick and Phil Haddix.
Also preceding her in death were one son, John Nephi Yokum Jr.; four sisters and one half-brother.
Mrs. Yokum, along with her husband, owned and operated a Sinclair Service Station in Huttonsville for several years and was employed by Reidbord Brothers and Bata Shoe prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with Bishop Lynn Muhlestein officiating. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mary Yokum.  From 29 Jan 2004.

George W. Young
George Wayman Young, 69, of 104 Barbour St., Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
He was born July 16, 1935, at Gaines, a son of the late Sidney E. Young and Carrie Davidson Young.
On May 6, 1961, he was united in marriage to Betty Elizabeth McCourt Young, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kathy Lee Botts and husband, Samuel K., of Buckhannon and Vanessa Cheryl Carlin of Point Mountain; two brothers, Stillman “Bud” Young of Hampton, Ohio, and John Young of Industry, Pa.; two sisters, Shelia Cogar and Sidney Kay Brady, both of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Shane Jessie Carlin of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dustin Samuel Botts of Buckhannon; and one granddaughter, Samantha “Gracie” Botts of Buckhannon.
Preceding him in death were one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Young; one brother, Ernest Jack Young; and one sister, Gladys “Toots” Hyre.
He was a school bus driver with Upshur County Board of Education, served in the U.S. Navy, attended Salem Ridge United Methodist Church and was a member of Rock Cave Masonic Lodge 81 AF & AM.
Friends will be received Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. He will lie in state from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, Saturday at Salem Ridge United Methodist Church. The Rev. Weese Day will officiate. Interment will follow in Salem Ridge Church Cemetery at Rock Cave. Rock Cave Lodge 81 AF & AM will conduct masonic graveside rites.  From 16 Dec 2004.
