James B. Tabor
James Buford Tabor, 83, of Willowbrook Road, Princeton, went to be with his Lord and Savior early Monday morning, March 1, 2004, at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 13, 1920, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James Henry and Clara French Tabor.
Survivors include his loving children, James L. Tabor, Frank W. Tabor and wife, Sue, and Nancy Powell, all of Princeton, Joyce G. Pritt of Beverly, and Connie S. Bishop and husband, Otis, of Bluefield; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Marvin Tabor and wife, Elizabeth, of Bristol, Tenn.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Revs. Emory Machant, Derek Wilson and Patrick Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton is serving the Tabor family.
Spencer B. Parsons
Spencer Blackburn Parsons, 98, a resident of Texas Mountain, St. George, departed this life Monday evening, March 1, 2004, at his home.
He was born Tuesday, June 2, 1905, at Ash County, N.C., the son of the late James M. Parsons Sr. and Louise Richardson Parsons. He was married to the former Bernice Richardson, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Ella Louise Morton of Texas Mountain, St. George; one brother, James M. Parsons Jr. of McLean, Va.; and one sister, Gwen Parsons Benjamin of Arlington, Va.
He attended the schools of North Carolina. He was the owner and operator of the former Parsons Propane Co.

Darroll L. Talbott Sr.
Darroll L. Talbott Sr., 79, a resident of Route 1, Belington, the Kingsville community, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at his home following an extended illness.

Darroll L. Talbott Sr.
Darroll Leroy Talbott Sr., 79, a resident of Route 1, Belington, the Kingsville community, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 22, 1925, at Kingsville, the son of the late Hoy G. and Lucretia J. McCullough Talbott.
On April 8, 1956, in Oakland, Md., he was married to Ella Rose Scott Talbott, who survives at Kingsville.
Also surviving are one son, Darroll L. Talbott Jr. and a daughter, Cynthia D. Talbott Narkevic, both of Elkins; one brother, Hoy A. Talbott of Van Nuys, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth McPherson of New Cumberland and Dorothy Greenawalt of Greenville, Va.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were one son, Hoy G. Talbott II; two brothers, Charles N. Talbott and infant Alfred Ray Talbott; and one sister, Margaret E. Chenoweth.
Mr. Talbott attended the schools of Kingsville and was a graduate of Belington High School.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy in the European Theatre.
He attended Davis & Elkins College and was a graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy. He served at detachments in Weirton, Marlinton, Webster Springs, Philippi, Elkins and Shinnston, from which he retired with 30 years of service with the rank of captain.
Following his retirement, he was employed as a land agent for Badger Coal Co. in Philippi and was employed by Poling Trucking Co. in Belington.
He was a life member of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion, a life member of Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the West Virginia State Police Retirement Members Association, State Police Lodge No. 107, Fraternal Order of Police, Weirton Lodge No. 171 AF & AM, AAONMS, Osiris Temple of Wheeling and Talbott United Methodist Church.
He was an avid outdoorsman whose favorite hobbies including hunting, fishing and gardening.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m Saturday at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bryan Headley and the Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Arlington Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded at the gravesite by member of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250 in memory of Mr. Talbott. Douglas C. Talbott
Douglas Childester Talbott, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004.
He was born July 23, 1920, in Buckhannon.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor B. Talbott; two daughters, Kathleen Nixon of Petaluma, Calif. and Leslie Talbott of Duluth, Ga.; three sons, Brian Talbott of Lake Oswego, Ore., Nick Talbott of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Timothy Talbott of Alpharetta, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren.
Mr. Talbott served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and attended the Harvard/MIT Radar School. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in engineering. He had 30 years of experience in communications and engineering and technology.
He started one of the first cable companies in the country and eventually became the chief engineer for the cable division of Cox Broadcasting.
He moved to West Hartford, Conn., in 1974.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Buckhannon Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving or the Connecticut Humane Society.  From 7 Apr 2004.

Doy L. Talbott
Doy L. Talbott, 68, of Richmond, Ind., and formerly of the Tenmile community, died June 15, 2004, in Richmond, Ind.
He was born April 29, 1936, in Tenmile, the son of the late Henry and Rose Talbott.
He is survived by one daughter, Connie Talbott Dohm, and one granddaughter, Marina Dohm, both of Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Della Bickel of Rock Cave; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a half brother, Oran Talbott and a half sister, Opal Rash.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Union Cemetery with the Rev. Dave Bickel officiating. The Buckhannon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans Post 5 and Post 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Milford D. Talbott
Milford D. Talbott, 66, of Wabash Avenue, Belington, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2004, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a brief illness.
He was born March 30, 1938, in the Talbott community, the son of the late Luther A. and Evelyn V. Golden Talbott.
On Dec. 24, 1956, he married the former Dolly Corley, who survives at Belington.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Dale “Rat” and Debra H. Talbott of Junior and Melvin R. and Donna Talbott of Belington; two daughters, Debbie and Joe Goff of Buckhannon and Terena Talbott of Belington; five grandchildren, Amanda Bennington and Jonathan Goff, both of Buckhannon, and Jason, Brittany and Samantha Talbott, all of Belington; three great-grandchildren, Miya Goff and Alicia and Damion Bennington, all of Buckhannon; two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Talbott retired as a tunnel foreman from CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Belington Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Belington Emergency Squad.
He served as director of the Belington Community Fair Association, as a member of Belington City Council and as a Little League coach.
He was a Methodist by faith.
Friends may call at the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lennie A. Talkington
Lennie Arnett Talkington, 91, of Baughman Tower, went home to be with the Lord at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at the United Hospital Center.
She was born at Alpena, a daughter of the late Andy Harris and Fannie Martin Harris McAllister.
She was twice married. First, she married Jesse D. Arnett, and second, she married Kermit Talkington, both of whom preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mona Tatomirovich of Philippi and Roma Phillips of New Castle, Pa.; five sons, Joe Oris Dale Arnett of Conneaut Lake, Pa., Dr. Charles Lee Arnett of Clarksburg, Jesse De Arnett of Cochranton, Pa., James Talkington of California, and John Talkington of Meadeville, Pa.; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Harvey Gale Arnett and Harry “Bud” Talkington; one daughter, Anna Lou Cornell; three sisters, Ruby Harris, Opal Johnson and Imogene Fluharty; and three brothers, Grant Harris, James Harris and Gerald McAllister.
She was a member of the Silent Grove Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Cloteal L. Taylor
Cloteal L. Taylor, 90, of Lost Creek and formerly of Weston, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at the home of her daughter Clarice Burkhammer in Lost Creek.
She was born May 28, 1914, at Duffy, a daughter of the late Roy and Lena Kincaid Westfall.
She was married to the late Oren Taylor.
She is survived by one daughter, Clarice Jean Burkhammer of Lost Creek; one son, Gary Oren Taylor of Lost Creek; one grandson, Carlton Burkhammer of Stanford, Va.; one granddaughter, Carmen Burkhammer of Orlando, Fla.; one great-grandson, Gerald Burkhammer of Stanford, Va.; five sisters, Glenna Craig and husband, Rick, Coda Sanders and husband, Gary, and Carrie Skinner and husband, Bill, all of Buckhannon, Goldie Harris of Poland, Ohio, and Rhoda Swartz and husband, Fred, of New Middletown, Ohio; and one brother, Roger Westfall of Ireland.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Velva Alderman.
She was a homemaker.
Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Alkire Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Earl Cayton officiating. de Sales “Perky” Taylor, 79, of Parkersburg, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at the Muskingum Valley Health Center in Beverly, Ohio.
Mrs. Taylor was born March 27, 1925, in Elkins, the daughter of the late Neil R. and Stella Gainer Purkey.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School and West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Mrs. Taylor retired after 26 years of service as a Wood County teacher and previously taught for 11 years in Randolph County.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she had been an organist and a member of the choir.
She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Camden-Clark Auxiliary, Colonial House board of directors, Wood County and West Virginia Associations of Retired Teachers and the American Guild of Organists, where she was a past dean.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan L. Taylor of Shade, Ohio; one son, Paul K. Taylor of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Rose Creasey, Thomas Deegan and Lori Jane Taylor; and three great-grandchildren, Rachel, Abigal and Jonah Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Taylor; and one son, Thomas Neil Taylor.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Parkersburg with the Rev. Timothy J. Allen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. The family requests memorials be made to Parkersburg Community Foundation, Taylor-Scott Scholarship Fund, P.O. Georgia Taylor
Georgia Frankie Mullenix Taylor, 83, departed this life at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at her residence in Mill Creek. She had been in declining health for quite some time.
She was born Nov. 23, 1920, at Blue Rock, the daughter of the late Earl and Lora Loudin Mullenix.
On June 20, 1936, she was united in marriage to Clinton Taylor, who preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons, Charles Taylor and wife, Lee Ellen, of Elkins, and Preston E. Taylor and wife, Dianah, of Elkton, Md.; and six daughters, Frances Miles of Mill Creek, Ava Nell McCartney and husband, French, of Warren, Ohio, Diana Arbogast and husband, Joe, of Valley Head, Cindy Lambert of Philippi, Sandy Henline and husband, Robert, of Mill Creek, and Ester Taylor, at home.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Mullenix Fine of Townsend, Md.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Robert “Bob” Mullenix; two sisters, Eva Roth and Creola Lewis; and two infant children, Nora Lee and David Lee Taylor.
She attended the schools of Randolph County, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Union Mission Church of Mill Creek, where she attended regularly.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Union Mission Church in Mill Creek on Friday from 10 a.m. until to 2 p.m., the funeral hour when services will be conducted from the church with the Rev. Frank Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Rock Cemetery at Blue Rock. Kennard B. Taylor
Kennard B. Taylor, 94, of 346 S. Florida St., Buckhannon, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Holbrook’s Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1909, in Buckhannon, the son of the late Scott Taylor and Mattie Hyre Taylor.
His wife, Hazel Lee Altizer Taylor, preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 1990.
Surviving are one daughter, Hilda Taylor of DeLand, Fla.; three sons, Kennard A. Taylor of Leola, Pa., Roger Taylor of Clearwater, Fla., and Robin Taylor of Warminster, Pa.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Kermit Taylor; and by one sister, Madeline Linger.
He was a hospital chief engineer at North East Hospital and was a member of the Hospital Engineers Association.
He was a Methodist by faith.

Maguerite H. Taylor
Marguerite H. Auvil Taylor passed away on Friday, Dec. 10, 2004.
She was the loving wife of the late Gilbert Taylor.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Gatdula and husband, Fernando, and Betty Horvath and husband, Dave. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Tracey Gatdula, Lisa Hester and David Danlag; and three great-grandchildren, Scott, Christopher and Sara Danlag.

Ray Hiner Taylor, 51, of Dunmore, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2004,
Mr. Taylor was born Aug. 29, 1952, in Marlinton to Mildred Hiner Taylor and the late Raymond George Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a truck driver for Grimes Enterprises and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Lou Taylor of Dunmore; his mother, Mildred H. Taylor of Dunmore; four sons, Raymond Matthew Taylor and wife, Elissa, of Dunmore, Stephen Ray Taylor and wife, Robin, of Dunmore, Adam Russell Taylor of Dunmore and fiance, Amanda McCarty, and Jacob Ray Taylor, at home; one sister, Linda Lee Grimes of Elkins; two brothers, Raymond Wayne Taylor of Canton, Ohio, and Roy Hiner Taylor of Durbin; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Hill and the Rev. David Rittenhouse will officiate and interment will follow at the Taylor Family Cemetery near Wesley Chapel. Robert H. Taylor
Robert H. Taylor, 89, of Third Street, Moundsville, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, in Florida.
He was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Parsons, the son of the late Gordon and Minnie B. Swisher Taylor.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, a bus driver for 29 years with the former Co-op Transit of Wheeling, a self-employed contractor, and a member of First Christian Church in Moundsville for more than 50 years where he was a former deacon and elder and assisted with numerous remodeling projects at the church.
He loved to tinker with odd jobs, work with flowers and enjoyed being outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Taylor and Mary Steele; his twin brother, Ralph; and four additional brothers Earle, Everett, Hale and Paul; and one son, Robert Alan Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Tina E. Taylor of Moundsville; one son, David P. Taylor and wife, Sharon, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; one daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Tagg and husband, Kenneth, of Moundsville; and three grandsons, Robert J. Taylor of Scottsdale, Ariz., Christopher A. Taylor of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mack Tagg of Moundsville.

Kenneth Teagarden Sr.
Kenneth L. Teagarden Sr., 78, a resident of Parsons, departed this life Monday morning, Aug. 30, 2004, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas. He had been in declining health.
He was born Thursday, Oct. 22, 1925, at Hendrysburg, Ohio, the son of the late the Rev. Harold O. Teagarden and Mabel V. Morgan Teagarden.
On Jan. 28, 1948, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Emma Geraldine Martin, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Leroy Teagarden Jr. and wife, Donna, of Parsons, and Glenn Ray Teagarden and wife, Linda, of Oakland, Md.; two daughters, Linda Kay Cutright and husband, Wayne, of Thomas and Sheila Marie Blosser and husband, Terry, of Parsons; one brother, Donald Teagarden and wife, Hazel, of Oakland, Md.; one sister, Bonnie Snyder and husband, Delmar, of Oakland, Md.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are three brothers, Harold Teagarden, William Teagarden and Rex Teagarden; and one sister, Evelyn Biser.
He attended Oakland High School at Oakland, Md. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and in the Philippines.
He was manager of the former H.P. Store in Parsons and was the owner and operator of the former K&G Store in Parsons.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Parsons.
He was a member of Pythagoras Lodge No. 128 AF & AM of Parsons, the Scottish Rite of Clarksburg, the Osiris Temple of Wheeling, the Tygarts Valley Shrine Club and Parsons Chapter No. 91 Order of the Eastern Star.

Kathleen Wamsley Teets, 88, a resident of Roney Run near Gilman, passed away at 3:57 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 16, 1916, at Harpertown, the daughter of the late John Huff Wamsley and Rebecca Alice Canfield Wamsley.
On May 30, 1936, she was married to Roy Baxter Teets Sr., who preceded her in death on March 26, 1993.
Surviving are one son, Roy Baxter "Buddy" Teets Jr. of Gilman; two daughters Patricia Ann Moody and Janet Elaine Pardini, both of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Freda Hayhurst of Fairmont; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Wilbert, Burly and Firl Wamsley; and five sisters, Gladys Roy, Russie Howell, Hester Hamrick, Adest Stoup and Odest Moore.
Mrs. Teets was a graduate of Elkins High School and a member of the West Virginia Community Educational Outreach Service. She was a member of the Orlena United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She was a basketmaker, crafter, weaver and enjoyed traveling.

Nina Mae Teets, 104, of 50 1/2 N. Florida St. in Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing Care Facility in Buckhannon.
She was born Oct. 27, 1900, in Coalton, a daughter of the late A.P. Lane and Maude E. Phillips Lane.
She was married to the late Edward Fay Teets.
She is survived by two stepsons, David Teets of Taegu, Korea, and Edward F. Teets II of Boise, Idaho; one cousin, Mary Lee Barlow of Parkersburg; three nieces, Alice Ware of London, Ohio, Judi Lane Byington of Vass, N.C. and Joann Lenhardt of Salem; one half sister, Mary Ellen Calking of Calvert City, Ky.; one half brother, Sam Lane of Richmond, Va.; and a special friend, Sarah Rusmisell of Buckhannon.
She was preceded in death by one cousin, Fred Rusmisell, one brother, Randolph Lane; and one sister, Gladys Alvis.
She was a registered nurse, graduated from Forman Surgical Hospital in 1921 and attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Heavner Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Charles Godwin officiating. Interment will follow.  From 15 Dec 2004.

Hazel Tenney
Hazel Tenney, 89, of Route 9, Box 529, Buckhannon, died Monday, June 14, 2004, in Crestview Manor in Jane Lew.
She was born Sept. 26, 1914, in Sago, the daughter of the late Anthony L. Tenney and Bertha Ours Tenney.
Surviving are one sister, Lillian O’Koren of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Anthony L. Tenney Jr. of Roanoke, Va.; one niece and caregiver, B. Louise Baker of Buckhannon; and one great-niece and caregiver, Carolyn Riffle of Buckhannon.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice Hamner, Beulah Gavanus and Mabel Tenney; and four brothers, Emmons Tenney, Goff Tenney, Delos Tenney and Maurice Tenney.
She was a factory worker and worked for Continental Can.
Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Lloyd Thornburg will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Tallmansville.  From 16 Jun 2004.

Ireta J. Tenney
Ireta Jane Tenney, 97, of Route 6, Box 750, Buckhannon, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, in Serenity Care at Buckhannon.
She was born, Nov. 17, 1907, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Coleman Lewis and Mozelle Griffith Lewis.
She was united in marriage to Forrest Glenn Tenney, who preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1963.
She is survived by one son, John Daniel Tenney and wife, Lucille, of Buckhannon; two daughters, Thelma Irene Moore of Barberton, Ohio, and Karen Woody and husband, Dale, of Buckhannon; three sisters, Freda Staley of Mill Creek, Grace Hinzman of Valley Bend and Ruth Jones of Coalton; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph Gene Tenney and Forrest Jennings Tenney; two sisters, Juanita Lewis and Mabel Shreve; and four brothers, William Lewis, Gilbert Lewis, John Simmons and Basil Grove.
She was a homemaker and a member of Nay’s Chapel Church. Ireta turned 97 years old last Wednesday at Serenity Care Home. She has been cared for by the dedicated caregivers there for the past eight years. She was a woman of great faith and overwhelming devotion to her family and those around her. She will be deeply missed by those that were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Friends will be received today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tristan Tenney and the Rev. Josiah R. Tenney
Josiah “Joe” R. Tenney, 77, of 108 Randolph St., Buckhannon, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in United Hospital Center in Clarksburg
He was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Hemlock, a son of the late Robert Tenney and Jennie Currence Tenney.
On Nov. 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to Wavelene Zickefoose Tenney.
Surviving are his wife, Wavelene Tenney of Buckhannon; four daughters, Luena Greene, Joyce Davis and Cindy Tenney, all of Buckhannon, and Sherrie McDaniels of Augusta, Ga.; five granddaughters, Lacey Tenney, Amberly Davis, Amy Thomason Hurst and Jody Simmons, all of Buckhannon, and Kristi Anderson of Nora, Va.; two grandsons, Zachary McDaniels of Augusta, Ga., and Kendall Tenney of Buckhannon; two great-grandsons, Joey Kelley of South Carolina and Gavin Simmons of Buckhannon; and one great-granddaughter, Ciera Anderson of Buckhannon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert “Pat” Tenney, Simon “Bay” D. Tenney and Peter Tenney.
He was a coal miner and a Pentecostal by faith.

Laura Lynn Tenney, 21, a resident of Adrian, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born Dec. 6, 1983, in Morgantown, a daughter of Leonard Earl Tenney of Buckhannon and the late Margaret Ellen Tenney.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her fiance, Teddy McIe of Adrian; two brothers, William Mark Branson and wife, Pam, of French Creek and Michael L. Branson of Buckhannon; three sisters, Tammy R. Carroll of Buckhannon, Tonya M. Smith and husband, Rocky, of Ellamore and Tina M. Bailey and husband, Brian, of Weston; three nephews, Brandon Smith of Ellamore, Nathaniel Carroll of Augusta and Dorian Phillips of Buckhannon; and two nieces, Rodnitta Phillips of Buckhannon and Leah Branson of French Creek.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one nephew, William Anthony Taylor.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse Chapel.

Madeline D. Tenney
Madeline Duvall Tenney, 90, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away at 5 p.m. July 12, 2004, in the Broaddus Hospital following a short illness.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1913, the daughter of the late William and Mary Cox Hunt.
She was married in 1931 to Sidney "Doc" Duvall, who preceded her in death in 1959. She was then married to Lowell D. Tenney, who preceded her in death in 1983.
She is survived by two daughters, Neva Jean Bosworth of Colonial Beach, Va., and Carolyn J. Schoudt and companion, Clyde Harrelson, of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Helen Ball of Louisville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Gregory Schoudt and wife, Patricia, of Lawrenceville, Ga., Jeffrey Hardin of Warren, Ohio, Penny Hite and husband, Darrel, of Leesville, S.C., and Kelly Hornyak and husband, Robert, of Southington, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Garrett Schoudt, James, Jodie and Gregory Hardin, Andrew Goff, Evan and Jamie Hite, Madeline, Robert and Elizabeth Hornyak; one great-great-grandchild, Kelsey Hardin; close friend, Doris Hardin of Warren, Ohio, and caregivers, Jean Ruth, Marylin Webber and Juanita and Frank Hunt.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Lee, Hubert, Harold, Troy and Buddy Hunt; and by five sisters, Ruth Glendening, Addie Hill, Icie Coda, Beatrice Smith and Margaret Hunt.
Mrs. Tenney was the housekeeping supervisor at Myers Clinic for 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting and piecing quilts.
She was a member of Galloway Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, the service hour. Morris Tenney
Morris Tenney, 73, of 224 Old Glory Road, Maryville, Tenn., died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tenn.
He was born Feb. 9, 1931, the son of the late Gay Tenney and Dele DeBarr Tenney.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Tenney.
Surviving are two sons, David Tenney and wife, Teresa, of Maryville, Tenn., and Greg Tenney and wife, Jean, of Ohio; two sisters, Margaret Revelet of Akron, Ohio, and Pamela Buchanon of Seymour, Tenn.; one brother-in-law, Ronnie and Diana DeBarr of Canton, Ohio; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one sister, Merle Tenney; and two brothers, Jerle Tenney and Robert Tenney.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Ten Mile Baptist Church. The Rev. George Freeman will officiate and interment will follow in Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery.  From 15 Sep 2004.

Pauline “Short” Tenney, 92, a resident of 15 Circle Drive, Buckhannon, where she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Charlie Thomason, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at home.

Pauline Tenney
D. Pauline “Short” Simmons Tenney, formerly of Route 2, Sand Run community, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, following a four-year illness.
She was born Wednesday, June 28, 1911, at Sand Run, the oldest child of the late James A. “Art” Simmons and Laola E. “Ola” Shipman Simmons.
On Dec. 8, 1941, she was united in marriage to S.E. “Sherd” Tenney, who preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1989.
She is survived by her only child and daughter, Sheila Thomason, and son-in-law, Charlie, of 15 Circle Drive, Buckhannon, with whom she made her home for the past 15 years.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were one brother, Arthur B. “Buss” Simmons; and three sisters, Lemoyne “Toots” Glass, Leota “Pete” Riley and Geraldine “Tommie” Kerrigan. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Wanda Simmons of Tampa, Fla.; five nieces; one nephew; and special caregivers, Debbie, Jean, June, Lenora, Phyllis and Tonnya.
She was a member of the Ladies auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663 and a life member of Sand Run Baptist Church.
Friends were received from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home where funeral services were at 11 a.m. today. The Rev. Robert Poling officiated and interment followed in Mt. Ruth Ann Evans Tenney, 65, of Route 2, Box 393, Buckhannon, died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Sept. 6, 1938, in Horner, the daughter of the late Arthur William Hyre and Ella Mae Cutright Hyre.
On Aug. 30, 2003, she was married to her second husband, Leonard Earl Tenney, who survives.
Surviving are three sons, Lenny Evans and wife, Sharon, of Buckhannon, Randy Evans and wife, Laurie, of Blackstone, Va., and Danny Evans and wife, Melissa, of Mebane, N.C.; one daughter, Robin Holland and husband, Robert, of Fayetteville; two sisters, Carol Hamrick of Bergoo and Debbie Russell of Tallmansville; one brother, Melvin Hyre of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Joshua Plass and Dustin Plass, both of Fayetteville, and Terry Evans and Joshua Evans, both of Buckhannon; and one granddaughter, Bridget Evans of Buckhannon.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leeorvel Earl “H.B.” Evans; one son, Gregg Evans; and one brother, Dale Hyre.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiated by Dan Rourke.

Earl G. Teter
Earl Grey Teter, 67, a resident of 644 Glenmore Loop Road, Elkins, passed away at 5 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born Jan. 27, 1937, at Sully, the son of the late John and Gladys Kerns Teter.
Surviving are one son, Gene Teter of Elkins; one daughter, Mrs. David (Lisa) Davis of Elkins; one brother, Steve Teter of Spotsylvania, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Glen “Sis” Schoonover of Elkins; and three grandchildren, David Justin, Leslie Rachel and Joshua Brandon Davis, all of Elkins.
Also preceding him in death were one brother, Johnny Junior Teter; and infants Kenneth and Lucille Teter.
Mr. Teter attended the schools of Randolph County and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the West Virginia Department of Highways prior to his retirement.

Mason Oliver Tharp
Mason Oliver Tharp, 87, a Buckhannon resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center.
Mr. Tharp was born on May 2, 1917, in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The son of the late Alice Agnes and Roscoe Boyce Tharp.
Tharp is survived by his wife, Eula Frances Boggs Tharp, as well as his son, Mason Eugene, and wife, Flora, of Buckhannon; granddaughter, Sonja Elaine Burt, of Morgantown; four grandsons, Mason Eugene Tharp Jr. of Lenoir, N.C., Steven Michael Tharp of Goshen, Ind., Nicholas Wayne Tharp and Jacob Randall Tharp both of Buckhannon; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Alexis Burt of Morgantown, Cameron Wayne and Jeremiah Allen Tharp, both of Buckhannon and a step-great-granddaughter Jessie Nicole Pretty of Goshen, In.
Tharp was a dozer operator for the city of Buckhannon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Tennerton United Methodist Church. He was also a member of French Creek Chapter 36 DAV and Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion.
Friends will be received today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.

Eda Thayer
Eda Pausek Thayer, 79, of Thomas, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Thomas to U.S. citizens of Slovanian immigrants, Blaz and Katarina Obreza Pausek.
She had one brother, Boris Pausek, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Thomas High School with the class of 1941 where she was an honor student and played the cello in the school orchestra.
For several years after graduation she was employed in the accounting/bookkeeping department of the Buxton Landstreet Co.
On Jan. 7, 1942, she was married to Stuart Grey Thayer at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Oakland, Md. Together she and Stuart raised six children: Mary Ellen Helmick of Omaha, Neb., husband, R. Edward, three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with a set of twins expected this September; Stuart Grey Thayer Jr. of Oakland, Md., wife, Vivian, four granddaughters, one great-grandson; Kathryn Thayer, infant daughter born January and died May 1950; Deborah Curtis of Elkins, husband, Ashton “Chris,” two grandsons; Karen J. Lewandowski of Thomas, husband, Edward, two grandchildren; and Eda G. McDowell of Davis, husband, Matthew, two granddaughters. Also she was a caring aunt to two nieces and two nephews.
She was a faithful member of the Thomas United Methodist Church and served many years as recording secretary.
Edie was a very devoted wife, a very loving mother and befriended her neighbors and all she encountered.
Her sustaining scripture through life came from Psalm 139 ... “O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am ...” Amen.
Friends will be received at the Thomas United Methodist Church from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Jeff Winter will officiate. Arnold H. Thomas
Arnold Hugh Thomas, 73, a resident of Diamond Street, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 4, 2004, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a nine-year battle with prostate cancer. His condition became critical on Aug. 31.
He was born Jan. 17, 1931, at Coalton, the son of the late Jesse Thomas and Myrtle Belle Poling Thomas.
On March 10, 1956, in Randolph County, he was married to the former Margaret Ann Zirkle, who survives.
Also surviving is one son, Arnold Hugh Thomas Jr. and wife, Victoria Curry Thomas, of Bel Air, Md.; four brothers, Jesse and Forrest Thomas, both of Norton, Bernard Thomas of Nicholas County and Charles Thomas of Mabie; three sisters, Geneive Werner of Broaddus Long Term Care of Philippi, Betty Johnson of Culpepper, Va., and Geneva Thomas of Elkins; and one grandson, Paul Arnold Thomas of Bel Air, Md.
One brother, Robert Thomas, preceded him in death.
Mr. Thomas worked for the Demotto Coal Co. for more than 40 years before retiring from Pure Energy.

Margaret E. “Betty” Thompson, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown following an extended illness.
Born April 10, 1915, in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the only child of the late Robert and Margaret Elizabeth Laing Thompson.
A resident of Martinsburg since 1938, Betty was well known for her work at the Berkeley County Health Department and Martinsburg South Junior High School, as well as volunteer efforts with the health department’s regional Heart Clinic, the local Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.
She previously lived in Toledo, Ohio, and Elkins prior to arriving in Martinsburg.
She was married 43 years to W.W. Downey Thompson, who died in 1981.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Robert Thompson of Fairfax, Va., and William David Thompson of Newark, Del.; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth McMullen of St. Charles, Mo., Katherine Lynne Garstang of Charlottesville, Va., and Gretchen Marie Sandidge of Knoxville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth McMullen, Madison Leigh Sandidge and Mason Reece William Sandidge; one cousin, Martha S. Grubb of Martinsburg; and one nephew, Hubert T. Marshall II of Fishkill, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Hubert (Fredericka) Marshall.
Betty lived on West Burke Street for nearly 20 years before relocating to North Tennessee Avenue, where she resided from 1957 until 2003.
A fall in 2000 required hospitalization and rehabilitative care, first at Outlook Pointe assisted living center until 2003, and then at Canterbury Center near Shepherdstown, where she was living at the time of her death.
She was active in the First Presbyterian and Tuscarora Presbyterian churches and other Presbyterian churches where she previously lived.
She served as church secretary, Sunday School and Bible School teacher and as financial secretary at First Presbyterian Church in Martinsburg prior to 1970.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Rufus T. Burton. Interment followed in the Old Norborne Cemetery in the family plot. Richard Thompson
Richard Leon Thompson, 62, a resident of Valley Head, departed this life Saturday morning, May 15, 2004, at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. He had been in declining health for the past three weeks.
He was born Saturday, July 12, 1941, at Valley Head, the son of the late John Richard Thompson and Dorothy Mae Lantz Thompson, who survives at Valley Head.
On March 25, 1969, he was married to the former Beatrice Ann Maroney, who survives. They celebrated 35 years of marriage. Also surviving are two daughters, Donna Marie Thompson and Cynthia Lynn Thompson, both of Valley Head; two brothers, Robert Lee Thompson and wife, Mary Jane, of Havre De Grace, Md., and Clarence Walter Thompson of Belington; and one sister-in-law, Judith Thompson of Norton.
Preceding him in death besides his father was one sister, Shirley Louise Thompson.
He was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1960, was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, was a sawyer for the Beckwith Lumber Co. for 41 years and attended the Valley Head United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Bert D. Thomson
Bert Duane "D.B." Thompson, 87, a former resident of Beverly, passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at 12:10 p.m., in the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center where he had been a resident for the past three years. He had been in failing health; however, his condition had been considered critical for the past two months.
He was born Aug. 3, 1917, at Cravensdale the son of the late Grover and Mota Coberly Thompson.
On Nov. 2, 1940, at the Presbyterian Church in Mt. Sterling, Ky., he was united in marriage to the former Wanda Ruth Taylor, who preceded him in death on June 10, 2003.
BD is survived by two daughters, Debbie Snelson and husband, Bob, Susanne Duane Smith and husband, Boyd, all of Beverly; a brother, Frank Thompson of Files Creek; five grandchildren, Boyd Laban Smith, Danielle Lynn Buford, Donna Sue Pfleging, Bobby Duane Snelson, Joshua Earl Snelson; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Smith, Amber Danielle Smith, Adam Lawrence Smith, Shaina Danielle Buford,  Harrison Charles Pfleging, and Samantha Leigh Pfleging; several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife were a son, Donald Ray "Duck" Thompson and a sister, Ruth Tacy.
Mr. Thompson did many things in his lifetime all of which he will be fondly remembered for. He attended a one-room school house at Faulkner where he had to be rowed across the river each day and back to go to school. The school house at Faulkner is also where his grandmother started 63 years earlier. He owned and operated BD Thompson Drilling of Beverly. He could find water when no one else could - with the branch of a peach tree. He was a water well driller and dowser.
He along with his wife, Wanda, owned and operated the Hi-Way Cabins and Gas Station in Beverly. Bert also drove truck for the Hickory Lick Mines and was a woodsman. He also worked one season on a shrimp boat off the East Coast out of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and he was formerly employed at the Western Maryland Railroad. BD was a former member of the Beverly Fire Department and was also a former councilman for the city of Beverly. He was a former member of the Tygart Valley Lodge 66 IOOF and the Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Protestant by faith.
He was a veteran having served during World War II in the South Pacific with the 53rd Battalion, Marine Seabee.
BD loved to ride his Harley and also called square dances. He was especially proud of the fact that during Eleanor Roosevelt's tour for the dedication of the Homestead, he asked her to square dance with him at the old Rohrbaugh Hall in Beverly, and she politely obliged him. He along with his brother, Frank, were in the very first Mountain State Forest Festival Pageant. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, and will remain in their hearts forever. Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel on Wednesday at noon. Pastor Jack Howell of the Tygart Valley Baptist Church of Beverly will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Mouse Cemetery at Cravensdale where the Tygart Valley Post 3647 VFW and the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion will conduct full military services. The Beverly Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

Franklin Tiano
Franklin Lee “Bud” Tiano, 81, a resident of 109 Easy Street in Elkins, departed this 5:09 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, in the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins. He had been in declining health for the past several months.
He was born Sept. 18, 1922, at Junior, the son of the late Frank and Zona Newlon Tiano.
He is survived by his former wife, Elizabeth Bell Tiano; and one son, Christopher Lee Tiano and one daughter, Beth Tiano, both of Cleveland, Ohio.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Joseph Adam Tiano, Tara Marie Tiano and Daniel Eugene Bell; one brother, Marlin K. Tiano of Rittman, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Willahmine Shaffer.
Mr. Tiano attended the schools of Barbour and Randolph counties and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Tiano retired from Ford Motor Co. in Cleveland and was a member of the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion in Elkins and was a Protestant by faith.

Katherine A. Katheryn A. Tillman
Kathyrn A. Tillman, 90, a former resident of the Buckhannon Manor, 10 Nona St., Buckhannon, and more recently a resident of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Home on the Georgetown Road, Elkins, departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She was born Sunday, July 5, 1914 at Fairmont, a daughter of the late Megs Casto and Lessie Satterfield Casto. She was married to James Tillman who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son; James S. Tillman of Lawton, Okla., one sister; Margaret Jones of Burlington, N.C.; two grandchildren; James Benjamin Tillman and Richard Kent Tillman, both of Lawton, Okla., and two cousins, Frank Casto and May Hyre, both of Buckhannon.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was one brother, Aubry L. Casto.
She attended the schools of Upshur County, having graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School, and had attended West Virginia Wesleyan College at Buckhannon. She was a cook for a several businesses, including the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Home, was a member of the Lorentz CEOS club for more than 50 years, the Delphia Rebekah Lodge No. 62, and had attended the Lorentz United Methodist Church.

Mabel Tinney
Mabel Anzina Long Tinney, 80, of Hackers Creek Road, Berlin community, in Weston, died at 7:22 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg after years of fighting heart problems.
Born Aug. 2, 1923, in Morgantown, she was a daughter of the late William Stanley Long and Rozetta Johnston Long. On Nov. 23, 1946, she married Junior Tinney, who preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1989.
Survivors include one son, Jim Tinney and wife, Linda, of the Berlin community; two daughters, Jane Duncan of the Buckhannon Run community and Beth Meahl and husband, Butch, of Jane Lew; three grandsons, Brad Tinney and wife, Alicia, of Jane Lew, Tim Duncan and fiancee, Lori Beckner, of the Buckhannon Run community, and Travis Nesbitt of the Berlin community; three granddaughters, Joyce Gum and husband, Todd, of Camden, Randi Tinney of Jane Lew and Brandy Meahl of Jane Lew; three great-grandsons, Christopher Gum of Camden, Johnathan Gum of Camden and Braden Tinney of Jane Lew; one sister-in-law, Gladys Long of Little Birch; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Tinney was preceded in death by two sons, Jack Tinney on April 23, 1974, and Randy Tinney on Jan. 12, 1981; one son-in-law, Jim Duncan on Nov. 2, 1981; two brothers, Selby Long and Orval Long; and one sister-in-law, Polly Belknap Long.
Mrs. Tinney was a homemaker and an avid genealogist. She was a member of the Hackers Creek Pioneers Descendants, where she volunteered two days a week until the time she got sick. She also was a member of the Harrison County Genealogy, Braxton County Genealogy and Nicholas County Genealogy. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Confederate, Berlin Rebekah Lodge 21 and the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militants. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Friends may call at the Boyle Funeral Home at 322 Main Ave. in Weston from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Emma V. Toms
Emma Virginia Kinzer Jacko Toms, 81, a resident of Route 2, Elkins, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in the Davis Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Sept, 26, 1923, at Meadows of Dan, Va., a daughter of the late William Michael Kinzer and Gentry Irene Scott Kinzer.
She was twice married. On Aug. 15, 1946, she was married to Julius Jacko, who preceded her in death in 1980. On May 3, 1992, she was married to Robert Lee Keith Toms, who survives.
Two sons, Raymond E. Jacko of Richmond, Va., and Don W. Jacko and wife, Cheryl, of Elkins; one stepson, Robert D. Toms and wife, Geri, of Chatham, Ontario, Canada; one brother, Newton Kinzer; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Michael and Aubrey Kinzer and two sisters, Maxine Tanner and Mildred Hawley.
Mrs. Toms was a graduate of Plainfield Academy in Plainfield, N.J., and attended Washington Missionary College. She worked for many years as editor of technical publications for the U.S. government at both the Raritan Arsenal in New Jersey and the Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania. She devoted herself to her family and her church, the Elkins Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was a faithful member. She volunteered many hours at Highland Adventist School and served for many years as the head of the school citrus program. She taught in the church children’s division and worked to design and create visual aids for juniors. She cared for her grandchildren and other family members and visited and helped her neighbors. She was much loved by her family and friends.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kingsley Whitsett officiating. Interment will follow in the Elkins Memorial Gardens. Vere Tracy
Vere Bly Moore Tracy, a beloved and remarkable woman and descendent of Pocahontas County pioneers, entered eternal life on Good Friday morning, April 9, 2004, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
Mrs. Tracy, the daughter of the late Ida Smith Moore and Samuel Moore, was born May 6, 1908, at Edray.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Glenn T. Tracy, who died on Jan. 2, 1994, and her sister, Ida Viola Moore.
She was a resident of Boyer, a magna cum laude graduate of Davis & Elkins College in 1954, and retired as an elementary school teacher of 23 years in several Pocahontas County schools.
She is survived by two daughters, Marian Bittle of LaVale, Md., and Helen Loman of Boyer; five grandchildren, John Jones of Key West, Fla., Jina Robbins of Annapolis, Md., David Bittle of Roanoke, Va., Mark Bittle of Charlottesville, Va., and Lisa Bittle Tancredi of Baltimore, Md.; five stepgrandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. A service will be conducted at Kerr Memorial Church in Boyer on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Rittenhouse presiding. Interment will be at the Boyer Cemetery following the service.

Juanita G. Trader
Juanita Grace Trader, 86, a resident of Brownton, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 23, 2004, at Mansfield Place in Philippi.
She was born June 7, 1918, at Gypsy, a daughter of the late Radie and Ethel Skidmore Starkey.
She was united in marriage, Aug. 2, 1932 to John Trader, who preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1998.
Surviving are six daughters, Wanda “Jean” Hudkins of Philippi, Ruby Shelby and Joann Molar, both of Ohio, Sandra Ward of Clarksburg, Nancy Ketterman of Flemington, and Donna Jones of Belington; three sons, Leonard and Floyd Trader, both of Brownton, and Randy Trader of Philippi; one brother, Frank Starkey of Galloway; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
She was a homemaker.

Janet Davy Trimboli, 87, of Berryville, Va., died Sunday, March 14, 2004, in a local nursing home.
She was born June 5, 1916, in Elkins, the daughter of the late David Russell Davy and Belva Lockwood Coberly Davy.
She was married to Vincent A. Trimboli, who preceded her in death on June 2, 1993.
She was a homemaker and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Russell Davy.
She was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Green Hill Cemetery at Berryville, Va. The Rev. Sandra Stamey will officiate. Arthur G. Trusler Sr., 88, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at his home.
He was born March 13, 1916, in Buckhannon, the son of the late Homer Trusler and Jane Bennett Trusler.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Lucille Harris Trusler, whom he married on August 31, 1947.
Also surviving are two sons, Roger L. Trusler of Marlinton and A.G. Trusler Jr. of Buckhannon; four sisters, Katherine Harris of Belington, Rosalee Rydzewski of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa., Joan Cross of Belington and Ernestine McDonald of Belington; one grandson, Arthur G. Trusler III of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Angela Moore of Buckhannon.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were one brother, Marshall Trusler and one sister, Margaret Bennett.
Mr. Trusler was a press operator for Moore Business Forms and served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sargeant during World War II. He was a Methodist by faith and was also a former co-manager of Buckhannon Livestock Yards.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Inc. in Buckhannon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Jenkins presiding. Burial will be in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Carl F. Turek
Carl F. Turek, 83, of Elm Grove, Wheeling, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born Dec. 1, 1920, in Henry, the son of the late Peter and Nellie Ujcic Turek.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Moore Turek; one daughter, Sara Applegarth of Elm Grove; two brothers, Joe Turek and his wife, Thelma, of Davis and Fred Turek and his wife, Florence, of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Dorothy Breth of Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Turek was a retired fire boss for the Valley Camp Coal Co. No. 3 Mine and was later employed by the Wheeling Park Commission as a park ranger.
He was a member of Elk Grove United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Comrade Sunday School class. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local No. 4285.
Carl loved gardening, golfing and traveling.

John W. Tusing
John William Tusing, 68, a resident of Junior, departed this life Thursday afternoon, July 8, 2004, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, West Virginia. Death was unexpected.
He was born Wednesday, July 31, 1935, at Weaver, the son of the late Allen Arthur Tusing and Mildred Corley Tusing.
On Oct. 31, 1953, at Junior, he was married to the former Shirley Ann Wilson, who survives. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Also surviving are two sons, John William Tusing Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Junior, and David Lee Tusing of Junior; three daughters, Lynette Jean Hinchman and husband, William Dale, of Norton, Ruth Ann Hamrick and husband, Raymond, of Elkins, and Cathy Marie Rowan and husband, Gary Allen, of Mabie; three brothers, Arthur "Bud" Tusing of Teter Creek, Troy Tusing of Dartmoor and Homer Tusing of Route 38, Barbour County; one sister, Sylvia Zickafoose of Cleveland, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were three brothers, George W. Tusing, Kenneth George and Eldon Junior Tusing.
He attended the Dartmoor Grade School and Belington High School, was a coal miner and worked for the Badger Coal Co. for over 20 years and later worked for the Clyde Bell Logging Co. at Mill Creek and the Petrice Logging Co. at Coalton.
He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and gardener and was the family mailman.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Doyle Neil Rider will officiate and interment will follow at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery at Junior.
