Joseph F. Kaiser Jr.
Joseph F. Kaiser Jr., 64, a resident of Old Route 250, Philippi, passed away Monday, March 10, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born April 17, 1938, at Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of Catherine Kaiser, Long Island, N.Y., and the late Joseph F. Kaiser Sr.
He was united in marriage on Sept. 30, 1961, to the former Patricia Miehle of Philippi.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph F. Kaiser III and wife, Missy, Belington, and Billy Kaiser, Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jane Brandsma and husband, Terry, High Point, N.C., Susan Dixon and husband, Kent, Clinton, N.C., and Karen Miller, Philippi; two sisters and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
He was a graduate of Farmingdale University with a degree in horticulture. In 1981, he retired from the Suffolk County, N.Y., Police Department with 20 years service. Upon retirement he moved to Philippi, where he owned and operated Mapleleaf Landscape and Nursery.
At the request of the deceased his body was donated to Human Gift Registry at West Virginia University. There will be no services. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Hospice, Crim Avenue, Belington, W.Va. 26250.   From 11 Mar 2003.

Chloe N. Kane
Chloe Nicole Kane, infant daughter of John Michael and Melissa Kane of Arbovale, was stillborn on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at Davis Memorial Hospital.
Maternal grandparents are Sue Williams of Philippi and Gary Alderman of Salem; maternal great-grandparents are Lucille Nethken of Mabie and the late B.H. Nethken and Lois and Woodrow Alderman of Buckhannon; paternal grandparents are Mike and Judy Kane of Green Bank; and paternal great-grandparents are Delbert and Mary Cassell of Arbovale and Odessa Kane of Cass.

Eugene C. Kaposy
Eugene “Chuck” Kaposy Sr., 53, of Washington, Pa., died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in Washington Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 29, 1949, in Washington, a son of Agnes Georgetti Kaposy of Washington and the late Anthony Kaposy.
Mr. Kaposy was Catholic and a graduate of Avella High School. He was employed in tire service for Goodrich Tire Co.
Amy Sikora was his companion.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene C. Kaposy Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., and Jason Paul Kaposy of Petersburg, formerly of Elkins; two daughters, Rebecca Ruth Higgins and Jonie Marie Kaposy, both of Elkins; a brother, Richard Kaposy of Washington, Pa.; two sisters, Rose Kaposy of Washington and Alberta Marshall of Burgettstown, Pa.; and seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Alicia, Christian, Bailey, Danyelle and Abbigale Kaposy, and Ryan Miller.
Deceased are a daughter, Toni Lynn Kaposy, and a sister, Frances M. McNary.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., the hour of service, today at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, Pa. with the Rev. John Mack officiating. Interment will be in Independence Cemetery.   From 2 May 2003.

Zola V. Karickhoff
Zola V. Malcolm Karickhoff, 63, of Pearisburg, Va., passed away suddenly, Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.
She was born Aug. 10, 1939, at Frenchton, a daughter of the late Alva W. Lenora Heavner Malcolm.
She is survived by one son, Steven Karickhoff and wife, Sandra, of Hannibal, Mo.; three daughters, Rebecca Alexander and husband, Carson, of Purcellville, Va., Deborah Griffith and husband, James, of Mineral Wells, and Sandra Sanders and husband, Eugene, of Newport, Va.; two brothers, Olin Malcolm and wife, Letha, and Noel Malcolm and wife, Maxine; two sisters, Velva Malcolm Austin and Mary Ann Malcolm Griffin and husband, Mitchell, all of Frenchton; eight grandchildren, Ashley Karickhoff, Brent, Kelsey and Colton Griffith, Heidi, Nicki and Emily Alexander and Audrey Sanders.
She is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Mrs. Karickhoff was a graduate of the Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1957. She was retired from the New River Valley Action-Head Start, where she continued as a volunteer.
Memorial services were held at Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, Va., on Monday. John Howard Kataline, 86, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., passed away July 18, 2003, at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport, Md., where he had resided for the last two years.

Dorothy A. Keatley
Dorothy Ann Ballard Keatley, 75, a resident of Mill Creek and a former resident of Beckley, passed away at 3:44 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health.
She was born Aug. 9, 1927, at Mount Hope, a daughter of the late Lake and Marie Ballard.
She graduated from Mount Hope High School and attended Beckley College. She was a longtime employee of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department as a tax clerk and was active in the Democratic party.
Mrs. Keatley is survived by her former husband, Kenneth K. Keatley of Shady Spring; a daughter, Diane Hull and husband, John, of Mill Creek; three grandchildren, Michele Hull White, Orlando, Fla., Joshua Keatley Hull, Mill Creek, and Season Keatley Hayes, Manassas, Va. She has one great-grandchild, Callie Diane White.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kitty Karen Keatley; a son, Matthew Dane Keatley; and a sister, Katherine Sue Williams.
Mrs. Keatley was a Baptist by faith.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley. Kenneth Dale Keefer, 43, a resident of Norton, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at the Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh following an extended illness.
Kenny was born Sept. 17, 1960, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the son of Betty Jane and Gerald Keefer.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Keefer of Norton; one daughter, Kara Brooke Keefer of Belington; one stepson and family, Chad, Heather and Justice Arbogast of Norton.
Also surviving is his mother, Betty Jane Keefer and stepfather, Stephen Fecko of Streetsboro, Ohio; two brothers, Bill Keefer and wife, Nancy, of Beallsville, Ohio; and Tom Keefer; one sister, Sharon Schrader and husband, Todd, of Garrettsville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Keefer; one brother, Ray Keefer and one sister, Karen Keefer.
Kenny was employed by the Department of Highways until he became disabled.

Betty L. Kelley
Betty Lee Carr Kelley, 75, a resident of 103 Knapp St., Elkins, departed this life early Friday morning, Aug. 1, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in her usual health and death was attributed to cardiac arrest.
She was born Saturday, Dec. 10, 1927, at Hendricks, the daughter of the late Pete L. Carr and Macy White Carr.
On June 17, 1950, at Elkins, she was married to Philmore Kelley, who survives. They had celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Also surviving are one daughter, Gloria White and husband, Roy, Elkins; three brothers, Granville Carr, Chenoweth Creek Road, Elkins, Paul Carr, Canton, Ohio, and Gary Carr, Elkins; one sister, Barbara Harvey, Elkins; and one grandson, Phil Butcher and wife, Amy, Beverly.
Preceding her in death besides her parents are one brother, Dale Carr; and one sister, Pansy Givens.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1947. She had worked for Colebank’s Office Supply, worked as a teller at Tygarts Valley National Bank for nine years and worked for the West Virginia Children’s Home for 19 years as a aide and tutor.
She was a member of the Delphia Rebekah Lodge 62 and the First Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Ladies Guild.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. On Monday, she will be moved to the First Church of Christ, where final rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Evangelist Gary L. Kendall will officiate and interment will follow at the Lambert Chapel Cemetery near Belington. Jefferson A. Kelley
Jefferson A. Kelley, 68, of Route 3, Buckhannon, Lick Run community, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Upper Tenmile, Upshur County, a son of the late Lonnie and Gertie A. Reed Kelley.
He is survived by three brothers, Junior Lonnie Kelley of Buckhannon, Lloyd Kelley of Queens, and Daniel Dane Kelley of Warren, Ohio; and one sister, Sarah Riffle of Route 3, Buckhannon.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Clint and Ray; three half brothers, Henry, Burl and Richard; and two sisters, Suzanna Landis and Freda Tenney.
Mr. Kelley was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating. Verlin L. Kelley
Verlin (Tom) L. Kelley, 81, of Dunmore, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor, Va.
Mr. Kelley was born March 3, 1921, at Dunmore, a son of the late John E. and Ina Moore Kelley.
He was a resident of Dunmore most of his life and attended New Hope Church of the Brethren. He was a retired heavy equipment operator from Mower Lumber Co. and was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Kowalchuk; and a brother, Kermit Kelley.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Harvey Kelley; two daughters, Marilyn Kelley of Dunmore and Sueann Corbett of Dunmore; two sons, Scott Kelley and wife, Nancy, of Dunmore, and Tommy Kelley of Dunmore; one brother, Paul Kelley of Warner Robins, Ga.; nine grandchildren and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating.

Maude E. Kent
Maude Ellen Kent, 80, of Sunshine Ridge Road, Route 2, Philippi, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 10, 1922, at Philippi, the daughter of the late Floyd S. and Alberta Emma Bennett Keller.
Her husband, Paul Kent, preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Louie William “Bill” Keller, with whom she made her home; one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Arlene) Eagan, Miami, Fla.; two grandsons, Tom Keller, Seville, Ga., and William Marshall Keller, Front Royal, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Marie Keller, Christopher Thomas Keller and Carley Keller, all of Seville, Ga., and Lindsey Renee Keller, Front Royal, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Marie Younkin; and one brother, Arnold Bennett.
Mrs. Kent was a former sales clerk in the S.S. Kresgy Co. in Ohio and the Publix Stores in Florida.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cross Roads Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Boyce will officiate and interment will follow. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.  From 9 Sep 2003.

Helen B. Kern
Helen B. Kern, 75, of 10 Mona St., Apt. 409, Buckhannon, died at 5:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.
She was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Buckhannon, the daughter of the late Harvey Tomey and Roxie C. Lewis Tomey.
In 1975, she was married to William Kern, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Patty Stanley and husband, Gerry, of Buckhannon; one stepson, Tim Kern of San Diego, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Helen Hennesy of San Diego, Calif., and Mary Starr of Phoenix, Ariz.; one grandson, Nicholas A. Stanley of Buckhannon; several cousins; and a niece, Lori Ward.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Tomey.
Mrs. Kern was a business owner and owned Old Timer Antiques.
She was a Baptist by faith.

Billy J. Kesling
Billy Joe “Timmy” Kesling, 39, of 519 Buckhannon Manor, Buckhannon, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
He was born May 15, 1963, in Buckhannon, a son of Joseph Petrice, who survives in Coalton, and the late Wilda Bailey Kelley.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepfather, Troy Kelley, Buckhannon, with whom he made his home; two sisters, Regina Talbott and Fay Harris, both of Buckhannon; one brother, Joseph Allen Petrice, Coalton; and two special aunts, Mildred Endrizzi, Century, and Zuma Halstead, Buckhannon.
He was a Christian by faith.
Friends were received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Sunday. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel today at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon.   From 12 May 2003.

Leota Virginia Kimble Kesner, 92, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Grant County Nursing Home, where she had resided since July 7, 1997.

Alice Wolfe Kessel, 95, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Grant County Nursing Home where she had resided the past two years.

Nellie M. Kessler
Nellie Mae Kessler, 80, of 495 Stokes Drive, Hinton, died Friday March 14, 2003, at her home following an apparent heart attack.
Born June 20, 1922, at Meadow Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Ollie Wingfield Kessler and had lived most of her life in Hinton.
Miss Kessler was a retired employee of the G.C. Murphy Co. of Hinton and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie B. and Glen Edward Kessler.
Surviving are two sisters, Madeline Keaveny of Elkins and Cleora Kessler of Hinton. Several nephews and nieces also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m Tuesday at the Alderson Cemetery at Alderson with Pastor Bill Fox officiating. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parsons in Hinton from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.  From 17 Mar 2003. 

Veva B. Ketchem
Veva B. "Granny" Ketchem, 86, a resident of Philippi, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in Broaddus Hospital Long Term Care, where she had been a resident for the past three weeks.  She had been in declining health for the past three months.
She was born June 12, 1916, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Virgil and Cora Ervin Daughtery.
She was united in marriage in 1935, to Lloyd H. Ketchem, who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1984.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and husband, Paul Goodman, of Philippi, with whom she made her home; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott L. and Margie Ketchem, Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Eugene Daughtery of Philippi; two grandchildren, Tammy Knepper and Michael Ketchem, both of Baltimore, Md.; and three great-grandchildren, Casey Joe Cleavenger, Philippi, Danny and Sarah Knepper, both of Baltimore Md.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jamie K. Cleavenger; four brothers, Leon, Eddie, Erskel and Bretsell Daughtery; and four sisters, Novada Sinsel, Evelyn Finley, Claudette Burner and Veda Daughtery.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, the service hour. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel with Evangelist R.D. Doris Kile
Doris Llewelyn Griffiths Kile, 78, a resident of Petersburg and more recently a resident of Hambleton, departed this life Friday afternoon, Dec. 19, 2003, at the home of her grandson, Tony DiBartolomeo and wife, Nicole. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to lung cancer.
She was born Feb. 27, 1925, at Brunswick, Md., the daughter of the late W. Griffiths and Nannie Lee Thompson.
She was married to Fred Kile, who survives at Petersburg.
Also surviving are one son, Charles Edward Lang Jr. of Baltimore, Md.; and two daughters, Barbara Lee Litzinger and husband, Richard, of Perryman, Md., and Nancy Louise Rockne and husband, Allen, of Arizona; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family, and was preceded in death by one brother, Lionel Griffiths.
She attended the schools of Maryland. She worked for the American Can Co. of Baltimore, Md., for many years.

Edna J. Landes Kimble, 93, of Maysville, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at her residence.

Tiechea “Ti” Kimberl, 55, a resident of Mabie for the past 10 years, passed away Monday, March 24, 2003, at Davis Memorial Hospital. Death was sudden and unexpected.
Born Oct. 29, 1947, in Pensacola, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Charles Wooten Kimberl and Rubye Nell Helms Kimberl, who survives in Trenton, Fla.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a close companion, Charles David “Charlie” Wine Sr. of Mabie.

Tiechea Kimberl
Tiechea “Ti” Kimberl, 55, a resident of Mabie for the past 10 years, passed away Monday, March 24, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. Death was sudden and unexpected.
Born Oct. 29, 1947, in Pensacola, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Charles Wooten Kimberl and Rubye Nell Helms Kimberl, who survives in Trenton, Fla.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a close companion, Charles David “Charlie” Wine Sr. of Mabie; two daughters, Kimberly Roll of Lewisburg and Amber Kennedy of Norman, Okla.; one son, Lloyd Hassell of Juneau, Alaska; and three grandchildren, Sarah Bradshaw and twins, Jacob and Katrina Roll.
Also surviving are two sisters, two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
“Ti” attended two years at Davis & Elkins College. She was currently enrolled at West Virginia University where she was pursuing a master’s degree in the CPA field.
In 1986, she received her pilot’s license in Alabama.
“Ti” was a freelance journalist, having already published a book, “Letters of Freudian Slip.” She also wrote several other articles that were published. Her hobbies were reading, gardening and cooking.
She was a woman of true faith.
Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home on Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Frank Long, pastor of the Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church, will officiate. Clarence Kimble, 93, of Route 1, Box 83A, Volga, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Grafton City Hospital in Grafton.
He was born May 13, 1910, at Elkins, a son of the late Wilbert and Bertha Trussler Kimble.
He was married to Detha Irene Westfall Kimble, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Kimble and wife, Sharon, and Clarence Kimble II, all of Buckhannon; four daughters, Pamela Webb and husband, Andrew, Marion, Va., Kathy Roby and husband, James, Rock Cave, Donna “Debbie” Farris and husband, Richard, Volga, and Barbara Kimble, Clarksburg; two brothers, Othie Kimble and Riley Kimble, both of Ohio; four sisters, Anna Fletcher and Margaret Hawkins, both of Buckhannon, Icie Mihaffie, Minn., and Florence Tenney, Buckhannon; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George Kimble, Wayne Kimble and Albert Kimble; and one sister, Lora Kimble.
He was a coal miner and a Christian by faith.

Jesse Glenn Kimble, 90, of Onego, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, in Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
He was born Feb. 8, 1913, at Smoke Hole, a son of the late Wilbur and Mary Alt Kimble.
He married Louise Teter, who preceded him in death in October 1976.
Surviving are one daughter, Lorraine Louise Kimble, Onego; one sister, Helen Burror, Upper Tract; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Orville and Kermit Kimble; and four sisters, Essie Full, Hazel Shreve, Ruth Rose and Mernie Kimble.
He was a farmer.

Mildred Marie Kimble, 79, of Arthur, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
She was born June 24, 1924, in Whitmer, the daughter of the late Kenny and Elva Cunningham Mullennex.
Her husband, Eston John Kimble, preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2000.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Kimble of Arthur; two sons, Eston Trent Kimble of Arthur and Stephen F. Kimble of Smoke Hole, Upper Tract; two sisters, Juanita Goldizen of Cabins and Gail Hedrick of Alliance, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Sterlie Mullennex; and one sister, Nellie Kimble.
She was a member of the Brushy Run Church of God.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Bruce Cosner will officiate and interment will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery.

Jason A. Kimbrew
Jason Arch Kimbrew, 77, of Beverly Hills, Fla., died at home Monday, March 24, 2003, under the care of his family and Hospice.
He was a native of Huttonsville, and was born on March 24, 1926, a son of the late Lawson and Beulah Kimbrew.
He came to Florida two years ago from Valley Bend. He retired from the General Motors Corp. as an inspector with 34 years of service, having retired from the Lordstown, Ohio, plant. He served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a life member of the Elkins American Legion Post.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Carvin Kimbrew, Beverly Hills, Fla.; two sons, Steve and wife, Tammy, and David and wife, Terry, all of Elkins; three daughters, Virginia George and husband, Ronnie, Elkins, Debra Zander and husband, Dale, Olmsted, Ohio, and Kimberly Scott and husband, Brad, Elkins; one brother, Dennis Kimbrew, Elkins; one sister, Fay White, Beverly; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery. Gertrude E. Kincaid (nee Mealey) age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 17, 2003, at Kingston of Vermillion, Ohio, where she resided since October 2002.
The beloved wife of Charles T. for 50 years, he preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2002. They were married on June 24, 1951, at the Methodist Church in Rock Cave and resided in Elyria, Ohio, for the past 51 years.
She was born on Feb. 19, 1932, in Crawford to the late William Ray and Choral Vada (nee Casto) Mealey.
A homemaker, she was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Elyria, Ohio, for more than 50 years, and served on the Missions and decorating committees, taught Sunday School, and was an AWANA leader. She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers. She enjoyed crafting, silk flower arranging for weddings and gardening, especially roses. A special vacation was to Switzerland.
She is the mother of Lloyd Thomas Kincaid (deceased), Mrs. David (Karen S.) Roseler, Berlin Hts., Ohio, Kenneth W. and (Joyce Knicely) Kincaid, Elyria, Ohio, Mrs. Michael (Mary Lou) Stovicek, Vermillion, Ohio, and David R. (Pauley Shuster) Kincaid, LaGrange, Ohio; a loving grandmother to Mrs. Marshall (Katie Roseler) Cade, Ryan Roseler, Dana and Amanda Kincaid, Kyra and Sydney Stovicek and unborn twins of David and Pauley Kincaid.

Glenda J. King
Glenda Jean Arbogast King, 50, a resident of Virginia and of Randolph County, passed away Friday, May 16, 2003, at 6:15 p.m. in Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Va. She had been in failing health for the past several years and death was attributed to cancer.
She was born May 12, 1953, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Arlin "Bube" Arbogast and Carrie Rachel Arbogast, who survives in Elkins.
She was united in marriage to Peter King, who preceded her in death in 1978.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her companion of 12 years, James Chris Lynch; a daughter, Christy Clavier; two sons, Steven King and Gregory King and wife, Windy, all of Virginia; a sister, Geraldine Roberts of Florida; and seven brothers, James Arbogast and wife, Sherry, of Elkins, Danny Arbogast and wife, Dottie, of Texas, Marvin Arbogast of Elkins, Gary Arbogast and wife, Debbie, of Harding, Harry Allen Arbogast and wife, Janet, of Elkins, Delmas Johnson and wife, Virginia, of Kerens and Roger Pritt and wife, Linda, of Alabama.
Also surviving are three granddaughters, Haley King, Bridgett King and Kimberly King; and four grandsons, Noah Parker, Joshua and Steven King and Royston Clavier. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
At the request of the deceased the remains were cremated.
She will be missed deeply by all of us who knew her.

Lena Myrl King, 87, of 1414 Clay St., Jefferson, Ohio, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Colleen Jones in Jefferson, Ohio.
She was born June 24, 1915, at McCanns Run, a daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Jessie May Barb Allman.
On Aug. 23, 1933, she married Ross Lauden King, who preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Ross L. King and Delbert King, both of Buckhannon; four daughters, Kathleen Weaver, Weston, Marleen Brandon, New Kingsington, Pa., Colleen Jones, Jefferson, Ohio, and Barbara McVicer, Quakerstown, Pa.; one brother, Basil Allman, Jane Lew; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Harvey Allman, Peter Elza Allman, Roscoe Bill Allman, Laco “Cody” Allman, Claude Allman, Rupert Allman and Bernard Allman; and one sister, Pearl McKinney.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Senior Citizens. She was a Methodist by faith.

Opal Darlene Bright King, 75, a lifelong resident of Kerens, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2003, at her residence. She had been in failing health since October; however, death was sudden and unexpected and attributed to cancer.
Born Aug. 12, 1927, in Randolph County, she was the daughter of the late Lindsey Thomas and Leona Maude Vanscoy Bright.
She was united in marriage to Harry Dale King, who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1980.
Opal is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie Purdum and husband, Steve, and a son and daughter-in-law, Allen King and wife, Sue, all of Montrose; and two brothers, Darl Bright of Belington and Roy Bright of Colora, Md.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Travis King, Andrew Purdum, Jackie King and Brandon King; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband, was a son, Randall King.
Opal was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1945. She had been formerly employed at the Reidbord Co., G.C. Murphy’s, Grant’s and the old Davis Electric Laundromat. She was also a line operator for Bata Shoe Co. until retiring in 1973.
She was a former member of Hart’s United Methodist Church in Kerens, where she taught Sunday School for several years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women’s Association, the Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veteran of Foreign Wars’ Women’s Auxiliary, and the Gold Star Wives of America.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman. The Rev. Jonas Johnson Jr., a retired Methodist minister, will officiate and interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Mountain Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va., 26250. in Opal’s name. The F.E. Lucy Elizabeth Lewis Kingcaid, 90, a former resident of Elkins, and Chicago, Ill., and more recently a resident of 2108 Southland Road, Baltimore, Md., departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the Northwest Hospital in Baltimore, Md. Death was unexpected.
She was born Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1913, at Beverly, the daughter of the late Richard Robert Lewis and Rachel Martha Minor Lewis.
She was married to Duane Wesley Kingcaid, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one brother, George W. Lewis, Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Autrice A. Grigsby, Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband are four brothers, Richard L., Clarence S., Anthony Y., and Harry A. Lewis; and four sisters, Cornelia C. Lowe, Pauline N. Givens, Rose Marie Lewis and Geraldine Williams.
She attended the schools of Randolph County, had worked as an admitting clerk at the Cook County Hospital and was a member of the Virginia Chapel AME Church at Elkins.

She was born June 20, 1939, the daughter of Sidney Jackson Sr. and the late Margaret Daugherty Jackson.
Surviving are her husband, Leon Kingsolver; her father, Sidney Jackson Sr.; two sons, Glen Taylor of Oklahoma City, Okla., Robert Taylor of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Margaret Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; one grandchild, Camille E. Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Sidney Jackson Jr. of Washington, D.C., and Robert Jackson of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Rose Jackson, of Tucson, Ariz.; three aunts, Gladys Tibbs and Margaret Cashwell, both of Marlinton, and Georgia Daugherty of White Sulphur Springs; a host of nieces; a nephew and several cousins.
She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Elkins, the Emma Scott Garden Club, the Cultural Awareness and Enrichment Group and the Virginia Chapel AME Church.
She was a Mountain Hospice volunteer and a board member of Women’s Aid in Crisis.

Amy Good Kirkland, 91, of Parsons, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home.
She was born March 27, 1911, in Jenningston, a daughter of the late Kenny and Myrtle Thompson Good.
She is survived by a sister, Nelle Glee Mauzy of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh F. Kirkland in 1997; two brothers, Granville and Carl Good; and one sister, Ruby Lambert.
Mrs. Kirkland retired from the Sears Roebuck Co., where she had worked in retail sales. She attended the McKinley United Methodist Church.

Samuel Wayne Kirkpatrick, 52, a resident of 108 Johnson Ave., Elkins, departed this life Sunday evening, Feb. 9, 2003, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He had been in his usual health, and death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage.
He was born on March 4, 1950, at Elkins, a son of the late Ernest Edgar Kirkpatrick and Evelyn M. White Kirkpatrick.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela Lorraine Canfield and her husband, Gregory, Elkins, and Penny Heflin and her husband, Christopher, Elkins; two brothers, Edgar “Ed” Kirkpatrick and his wife, Virginia, Harding, and Richard Kirkpatrick, Elkins; two sisters, Rachel A. Reed and her husband, Robert, Whitmer, and Erma Booth and her husband, Nelson, Baltimore; his special friend, Alice Wright, Bealton, Va.; and five grandchildren, Miranda, Billie Jean, Ariel, Tyler and Rodney.
He attended the schools of Baltimore, Md., and was a graduate of the Patterson High School at Baltimore with the class of 1968. He was a self-employed carpenter, a member of the Aerie No. 2344, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and a member of the former Elkins Moose Lodge No. 375. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.

Clifford M. Kisamore
Clifford M. Kisamore, 64, of Davis Junction, Ill., and formerly of Seneca Rocks, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at his residence. Death was attributed to a stroke.
He was born Sept. 25, 1938, at Brood, a son of D. Evelyn Williams Kisamore, who survives at Seneca Rocks, and the late James Mason Kisamore.
On June 30, 1984, he married Harriet Miller, who survives at Davis Junction, Ill.
He was a machinist for APV Rockford for 18 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He graduated from Circleville High School on May 21, 1956, and attended Potomac State College at Keyser for two years. He was a member of Cathedral Baptist Church in Rockford, Ill.

Mason P. Kisamore
Mason P. Kisamore, 89, a former resident of Seneca Rocks, and a resident of the Pendleton Nursing Home, passed away at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 24, 1913, at Riverton, a son of the late Phillip and Cordelia Nelson Kisamore.
He was united in marriage to the former Bessie Raines, who preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 1985.
Surviving are one son, Larry Kisamore and wife, Letha, of Riverton; one grandson, Kevin Kisamore and wife, Wendy; two stepgranddaughters, Anita Davis and Jacqueline Wilfong; one great-grandson, Cameron; two stepgreat-grandsons, Seth Davis and Garrett Wilfong; and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Jessica Wilfong.
Also surviving are a twin sister, Mabel McDonald of Pendleton Nursing Home; and one brother, Henry Kisamore.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were five brothers, Emory Kisamore, Clen Kisamore, Mack Kisamore, Robert Kisamore and Jason Kisamore.
He was a lifelong farmer and a former member of the Spruce Knob Ruritan Club.

Randall W. Kisamore
Randall Wayne Kisamore, 52, of Phillips Store Road in Broadway, Va., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
He was born Oct. 23, 1951, in Harman, the son of the late Frank Carl and Bethel Turner Kisamore.
He was a sheet metal mechanic for Landes Heating and Air for 28 years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Harrisonburg, and was a former Boy Scout leader.
On May 25, 1985, he married the former Margaret Phillips, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Randall W. Kisamore II of Broadway; three daughters, Eva Kisamore Miller, Bethel Grace Kisamore and Rebecca Rose Kisamore, all of Broadway; two brothers, Carl Kisamore of New Jersey and Danny Kisamore of Mt. Rose; three sisters, Virginia Messerley of Harrisonburg, Violet Crase of Olympia, Wash., and Karen Cole of Broadway; and three stepchildren, Carissa Ashley, Cheyanne Wegman and Jackie Martin.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis.

Warren G. Kisamore, 81, a resident of Billings Avenue in Parsons, departed this life late Wednesday evening, Nov. 19, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, following a brief illness.
He was born Saturday, Aug. 12, 1922, at Onego, a son of the late Olie Kisamore and Texie Lucille Lamb Kisamore.
He was married to the former Sylvia Marie Huff, who preceded him in death. His longtime companion, Jessie Pearl Arbogast, preceded him in death in March 2003.
Surviving are one son, Neil Howard Kisamore and wife, Doris, of St. George; two daughters, Olivia Lucille Stone of Thomas and Sandra Kaye Hardy and husband, Thomas, of Hambleton; one brother, Harry Kisamore of Belington; one half-brother, Ernest Kisamore of Charleston; nine grandchildren, Donell Denise Haddix, Steven Michael Stone and David Warren Stone, all of Virginia, Heather Marie Carr of Thomas, Tammy Lea Carr and husband, Randy, of Porterwood, Brenda Kay Hardy Thornton of New Port Richey, Fla., Angela Danielle Humphrey and husband, Sam, of Parsons, Neil Howard Kisamore II and wife, Amanda, of Parsons, and Chad O’Neil Kisamore and Julie Phillips of Waynesburg, Pa.
Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren, Marcella Stone and Skyler and Shane Humphrey, all of Parsons, David Allen, Tristen Warren and Steven Bryce Stone and Ashley and Jessica Stone, all of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, Robert Warren Kisamore; and one sister, Ollie Blosser.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Rhineland, Germany, from 1942 to 1944. Throughout his life, he was a mechanic and a construction worker, and enjoyed farming and gardening. He was a Methodist by faith.

Marie G. Brown Kisner, 77, of Yates Avenue, Grafton, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at 5 a.m.
She was born in Shaffertown, on April 28, 1925, the daughter of the late George Watring and Bertha Moats Watring.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter A. Brown.
Surviving are her husband, Durley J. Kisner; seven children, Wanda Kisamore and husband, Jesse Kisamore, of St. George, Fred Watring of Junction City, Kan., Rosemary Mayne and husband, Joseph Mayne, of Mt. Lake Park, Md., Wave Curry and husband, Fred Curry, of Grafton, John Brown and wife, Kathy Brown, of Grafton, Goldie Davis of Ovedio, Fla., and Charlotte Marsh of Oakland, Md.; three stepchildren, Howard Brown and wife, Pauline Brown, of Buffalo, N.Y., Wiloa Helmick and husband, Bruce Helmick, of Gormania, and John Kisner and wife, Barbara Kisner, of Alburquerque, N.M.; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and one brother, Elmer Watring of Thomas.
Mrs. Kisner was preceded in death by six brothers, Clayton, John, Berdean, Delpha, Henry and Ray Watring; two sisters, Viola Shaffer and Ida Brown.
Mrs. Kisner was formerly employed as a guard for the West Virginia Department of Corrections at Moundsville. She attended the Beulah Baptist Church in Grafton, was a member of the Naomi Chapter 12 OES, Grafton, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and enjoyed cooking for everyone.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G.Ford Funeral Home in Grafton Thursday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown. Richard L. Kisner
Richard L. Kisner, 53, a resident of Pembroke Pines, Fla., since 1983, departed this life on March 3, 2003, in the Memorial Pembroke Hospital in Hollywood, Fla., following surgery. Death was unexpected.
He was born June 26, 1949, in Elkins, the son of Jim and Mary Beck Kisner of Elkins.
On Nov. 17, 1972, he was married to the former Sandra L. Zack of Pittsburgh, Pa., who survives in Florida.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by one son, Michael Kisner and wife, April, of Florida; one daughter, Melissa Kohl and husband, John, of Florida; two grandchildren, Rebecca Kohl and Mikayla Kisner; one sister, Brenda Ramsey and husband, Barry “Chip” Ramsey, of Elkins; two nephews, Jarod Ramsey and John Zack and one niece, Julie Zack; mother-in-law, Helen Zack, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Karen Zack of Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was the grandson of the late Samuel and Bertha Kisner, paternal grandparents, and the late J.C. Robinson and Mary Robinson, maternal grandparents, and was the son-in-law of the late John Zack of Pittsburgh.
He graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 1967 and from Pittsburgh Electronics Institute in 1970.
He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, from January 1971 to December 1978, and received the U.S. Navy Achievement Award Medal.
He worked at the Memorial and Parkway Regional Hospital of Florida as purchasing agent/storeroom manager, and part-time at Boyd’s Funeral Homes, Hollywood, Fla., as office manager/assistant.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Elkins and also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Florida.
He enjoyed golfing and baseball and was an avid fisherman and an accomplished artist.
Friends and relatives were received at Boyd’s Funeral Home for his memorial service on March 6.  From 11 Mar 2003.

On May 16, 2003, Rose Mary Kisner, 46, beloved mother of Derrick Kisner, daughter of the late Ed Kisner and the late Emma Jean Pritt, stepdaughter of the late Bill Brumbles. Loving sister of the late Edward Ross Kisner and the late Bobby Lee Kisner.
Surviving sisters, Opal Xanthakas, Sandra Jean Riley and Carolyn Sue Mayo. Loving granddaughter of the late Norman and Mary Pritt. Beloved aunt and several nieces and nephews and also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Gertrude R. Kittle
Gertrude R. Kittle, 79, of St. Joseph Hospital in Buckhannon, died Saturday Aug. 2, 2003, in St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing Care Facility in Buckhannon.
She was born Nov. 11, 1923, at Little Sand Run, a daughter of the late Ernest and Delphia Huffman Rowan.
On July 29, 1936, she married Junior Howard Kittle, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Kittle, Buckhannon, and Jim Kittle, of Rifle, Colo.; five daughters, Delores Finks, Front Royal, Va., Mary Rigge, Falls Church, Va., Sharon Kimble and Susan Hupp, both of Buckhannon, and Linda Mingo, Front Royal, Va.; one cousin, Allien Berry, Buckhannon; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Kittle and Lenny Kittle; and a brother, Howard Junior Rowan.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Post 3663 and Moose Lodge 598. She was a member of Mt. Rupert Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at Mt. Rupert Church Cemetery today at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Tenney officiating. Interment will follow. Howard S. Kittle
Howard S. Kittle, 81, of 1104 1/2 S. Henry Ave., Elkins, passed away Monday, May 26, 2003, at 2 p.m. in his residence. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.
Born Nov. 14, 1921, in Kerens, he was the only child of the late Sheridan L. and Lillie M. Fansler Kittle.
Mr. Kittle never married. He is survived by three very close friends: Louise Higgins of Montrose, and Glenn and Ruth Teter of Elkins.
Mr. Kittle was a former resident of Lakewood, Ohio, and was employed by the City National Bank in Cleveland, Ohio, as a security officer until he retired in 1986.
He was a graduate of the Downtown Detective and Security Guard Academy in Cleveland and was a private detective for the William J. Burns Detective Agency, also in Cleveland, prior to his employment with City National Bank.
Mr. Kittle was a train enthusiast, loved music, including country and religious, and had a passion for old comedy shows and reading. He was a humorous, giving and kind man.
Mr. Kittle was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Leon Hevener, pastor of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Israel Church Cemetery in Kerens. Keith R. Kittle
Keith Richard Kittle, 72, a resident of the Audra Road in Belington, departed this life at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 29, 2003, in the Broaddus Hospital in Philippi. He had been in declining health for the past four years.
He was born May 14, 1930, a son of the late Eligah W. Kittle and Bessie E. Davis Kittle.
On Aug. 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to the former Josephine R. Suder, who survives at their home in Belington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jimmy Kittle of Belington, and William Kittle and wife, Jill, of Virginia; two daughters, Emma Kyle and husband, Jim, of Belington, and Betty Jo Weese and husband, Jeff, of Belington; grandchildren, Amy Pomp, Melinda Weese, Lisa and Derek Kyle, all of Belington, Leslie Kittle, Delta Parks, both of Parsons, Kimberly Meadows, Michael Cornet, both of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Madeline Pomp, Michael and Christina Parks, Brittany and Trevor Kittle, Katyline Meadows and Ashley Cornett.
Also surviving are two brothers, James Westfall and wife, Phyllis, Dee Westfall and wife, Rosie, all of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Denver, Earl, Darl and Wilbert Kittle; and three sisters, Pearl Fitzwater, Cleo Rucker and Opal Poling.
Mr. Kittle attended the schools of Barbour County and retired from the Elkins Limestone plant. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 410 in Belington and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington Friday from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with Pastor Boyd Wyatt officiating. At the request of the deceased the casket will remain closed. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 44 of Philippi. Eugene Norwood Kitzmiller, 89, a resident of Elkins, passed away this morning, Feb. 7, 2003, at Elkins Regional Convalescent Center following an extended illness.

Eugene N. Kitzmiller
Eugene Norwood Kitzmiller, 89, a patient at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 7, 2003, at the center.
He was born April 13, 1913, at Bemis, the son of the late Claude Harrison and Nellie Agnes Williams Kitzmiller.
He was twice married, first to Ruth Hunter Kitzmiller, who preceded him in death on April 16, 1972. In 1974, he married Mildred Moyers Kitzmiller, who also preceded him in death on June 26, 1975.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by one son, Claude David Kitzmiller; and two brothers, Max Hoye Kitzmiller and Jennings Harold Kitzmiller.
Mr. Kitzmiller attended Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tenn., was an ordained minister with the Christ of Christ, and served churches for a number of years in Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee and West Virginia.
After returning to Elkins, Mr. Kitzmiller worked for the Elkins Lumber Co. and Kitzmiller Lumber Corp.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ of Elkins.
He was a member of the Elkins Lodge No. 108 AF & AM for 65 years, Pilgrim Commandry No. 21 and Royal Arch Masons No. 35.
Friends may call at the Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday, Mr. Kitzmiller will be moved to the First Church of Christ for visitation from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour. Raymond Knecht, 89, a former resident of Parsons, and more recently a resident of the Whitehall Manor Nursing Home in Whitehall, Ohio, departed this life Sunday evening, July 6, 2003, at the nursing home. He had been in declining health.
He was born April 1, 1914, at Cass, a son of the late Milton Knecht and Cora Alice Hinkle Knecht.
On March 9, 1937, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Florence A. Dellinger, who preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 1995.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Prifogle and husband, George, of Gahanna, Ohio; four sisters, Lydia Sowers and Nola Norton, both of Elkins, Alice May Splain of New York, and Betty Lea Lantz of Pennsylvania; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Knecht of Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bobby R. Knecht; and one brother, Melvin Knecht.
He attended the schools of Davis and served with the Civilian Conservation Corp in West Virginia and Kentucky. He was an employee of the former Parsons Tannery for 38 years until its closing and worked as a truck driver for the former E.J. Price Grocery and Feed. He was a former employee of the Kingsford Charcoal Company and the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement. He attended the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Parsons for many years and was a member of the Parsons Senior Center.

Della V. Knick
Della Virginia Knick, 90, of the Chenoweth Creek Road in Elkins, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 9, 1913, at Decatur, Va., the daughter of the late Robert and Ollie Graves. She was married to Clarence Knick, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth Knick and wife Arlene of Beverly; one daughter, Diane Corley of Elkins; and 12 grandchildren, Terri Weiford, whom Mrs. Knick raised, Walt, Jeff and Todd Corley, Jim and John Rowan, Lynn Krouse, Stephanie Smith, Kimberly Holderman, Melissa Fleming, Angie Crowe and Eric Knick.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were a daughter, Geraldine Rowan, and a brother, Clinton Graves.
Mrs. Knick attended the schools of Decatur and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Elkins.

Della Virginia Knick, 90, of Route 1, Chenoweth Creek Road, Elkins, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital.

Richard L. Knight
Richard Lee Knight, 47, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in Queens Medical Center, Honolulu. He had been in declining health for the last several months. His death was attributed to heart failure.
He was born in Bethesda, Md., on Oct. 13, 1955, a son of Lee Knight and Ruth Frey Knight.
He attended the schools of Barbour County and graduated from Philip Barbour High School in 1973.
He relocated to Akron, Ohio, where he married the former Vickie Fridley and worked as an auto mechanic for several years. He attended Wilmington Community College for two years and then went on to attend the Savannah College of Arts and graduated with a degree in photography.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, and daughter, Lauren, Massillon, Ohio; a brother, Robert E. Knight, Beverly; a sister, Terri Davis, Elkins; a half brother, Shirley D. Nestor, Belington; and several nieces and nephews.
He had made his home in Honolulu, Hawaii, for the last several years. The family will respect his last wish to be cremated. A memorial will be held at a later date.   From 30 Apr 2003.

Margarette M. Koon
Margarette Marie Kruszynski Koon, 71, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at the Barbour County Good Samaritan Center in Belington.
She was born Jan. 15, 1932, at Washington, Pa., a daughter of Roy Harris of Buckhannon, and the late Lela Bowyer Harris.
She was formerly married to Gale Robinson, who survives in Chardon, Ohio. She was united in marriage on Jan. 5, 2003, to Rev. Orvis A. Koon, who survives.
She is survived by one daughter, Hope Marie Koval of Ohio; two sons, Larry Joe Robinson of Route 1, French Creek, and William Gale Robinson of Ashtabula, Ohio; five stepchildren, Naomi Wren of Jacksonsville, Fla., Raymond Darrell Koon of Chauncey, Twila Jane Gillman of Chauncey, Sheila Marie Carddock of Lake, and Tammy Denise Moss of Chauncey; nine grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren, seven stepgreat-grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Harris of Mossup, Conn.; and one sister, Mary Louise Fischer of Washington State.
She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Timothy Arnold Koon and Davis Eugene Koon; and one stepdaughter, Sherry Lynn Chaffins. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wade and Paul Harris; and one sister, Pearl.
Mrs. Koon had many friends throughout West Virginia and attended the Way of Holiness Church.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mrs. Koon will be moved to the Way of Holiness Church Friday, where she will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Richard B. Kyle
Richard Bruce Kyle, U.S. Army, retired, of Abingdon, England, and Mill Creek, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in England.
He was born May 9, 1929, in Mill Creek, the son of the late Bruce and Addie Mae Kyle.
He was married to Betty Price of Abingdon, who preceded him in death in 1996.
A brother, Charles William Kyle, also preceded him in death in 1966.
Surviving Richard is one daughter, Sharon Kyle of Abingdon; six sisters, Donna K. Smith of Clarksburg, Patricia Kenney of Mill Creek, Mary Arbogast of Powhatan, Va., Barbara Perkins of Ocala, Fla., Joyce Gettys of Morton, Ill., and Paula Roberts of Waynesboro, Va.; one brother, John Kyle of Falling Waters; and a host of friends and caregivers at Langston Residential in Kingham, Oxon.
A memorial service and interment will be held later in Mill Creek.   From 23 Sep 2003.
