Mary F. Zickefoose
Mary Frances Zickefoose, 90, of Route 6, Box 471, Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at 11:35 a.m. in Davis Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Zickefoose was born March 1, 1912, in Gould, a daughter of the late Ord Martin and Mamie Cutright Crites.
On Dec. 25, 1932, she married Encil Zickefoose, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Kay and Willard Light, Buckhannon; one son, Robert and Margie Zickefoose, Alliance, Ohio; one brother, Donald Crites, Buckhannon; three sisters, Irene Crites, Orlando, Fla., Imogene Lemons, French Creek, and Blanche Sipes, Midland, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Richmond and Evelyn Henry; one sister, Orpha Alender; and four brothers, William Crites, Audra Crites, Dennis Crites and Paul Crites.
She was a homemaker and attended Gould Methodist Church. From 27 Sep 2002.

Edwin Zimmerman
Edwin Thomas Zimmerman, 45, a resident of Cleveland, Ohio and Junior, was pronounced deceased upon arrival Thursday evening, Sept. 19, 2002, at Broaddus Hospital in Philippi resulting in injuries sustained from an ATV accident earlier that evening at Trinity near Junior.
He was born Dec. 2, 1956, at Neodesha, Kan., the son of Donald Zimmerman who survives in Kansas and Ester May Hodgkins of Taton, Texas.
In August 1998 he was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Charlene Swick, who survives at both Cleveland and Junior.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by two daughters, Danielle Zimmerman and Kayla May Zimmerman; two sons, Shawn Zimmerman and Ronald "Ronnie" Zimmerman; two sisters, Donnetta Murphy and Debbie Ross; and one brother, Earl Zimmerman.
Also surviving are his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and June Swick; and two brothers-in-law, Doug and Stanley Swick.
Mr. Zimmerman was a graduate of the MIT School of Engineering where he majored in cooling and refrigeration, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was currently operating his own business in Ohio and West Virginia specializing in cold storage refrigeration.
He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and on Monday until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. Evangelist Michael Phillips will officiate and interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 44 of Philippi. From 21 Sep 2002.

Reva Proudfoot Zinn
Reva Proudfoot Zinn, 94, who resided with her daughter in Walkertown, N.C., and a former resident of Philippi, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in Walkertown.
She was born May 13, 1908, in Barbour County, the daughter of the late Andy and Lula McDaniel Proudfoot.
She was united in marriage to Maurice Zinn, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Marjorie Anne Wilson, Walkertown, N.C.; six grandchildren, Debbie Lesley, Chip Wilson, Kathy Lambe, Mary Hutchins, Terry Carter and Jeff Beard; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jo Beard.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216. N. Walnut St., Philippi, from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Crim Memorial United Methodist Church, Pike and Walnut Streets, Philippi, W.Va., 26416. From 10 Aug 2002.

Herbert B. Zirkle
Herbert B. Zirkle, 89, of Route 4, Box 546, Buckhannon, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born Jan. 8, 1913, in Upshur County, a son of the late Charles L. and Alice Frances Proudfoot Zirkle.
On April 20, 1931, he married Daisy Haddix Zirkle, who survives in Buckhannon.
Also surviving are one son, Mendel Zirkle, Buckhannon; two daughters, Marlene Zirkle, Buckhannon, and Sally Ann Isgro, Louisville, Ohio; one brother, Verlin Zirkle, Pittsburgh, Pa.; one sister, Dema Carr, Belington; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Wilbert Zirkle; five brothers, Ezra Zirkle, Lewis Zirkle, Clayton Zirkle, Opha Zirkle and Ralph Zirkle; and four sisters, Hazel Nitz, Ivy Tenney, Daisy Zack and Beulah Wilmoth.
Mr. Zirkle was a steel worker, coal miner and farmer. He was a Baptist by faith.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Anyone wishing to make contributions in lieu of flowers may do so to the Christian Fellowship Church, Norvell Drive, Buckhannon, W.Va. 26201. Willard O. Zirkle
Willard Oral Zirkle, 82, a resident of Route 3, Shooks Run, Philippi, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, in the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.
He was born May 17, 1920, in Barbour County, a son of the late Vertis and Clara McDaniel Zirkle.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 26, 1946, to the former Alice Virginia Howdershelt, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Zirkle, Elkins, and Mary and husband, Robert Wolfe, Philippi; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ronald R. and wife, Bonnie Zirkle, Myrtle Beach, S.C., W. Dale and wife, Lora Zirkle, Fairmont, Jim and wife, Clarice Zirkle, Belington, and Danny Zirkle, Philippi; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.
He worked several years at Galloway Coal Co. and Compass Coal Co. and retired from Sardis Coal Co.
He was also a farmer. He was a member of United Mine Workers, District 31, Local 4172 and was a Protestant by faith.
Friends are being received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, until 1 p.m. Thursday, the service hour. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David E. Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Barbour Memorial Cemetery. From 7 Aug 2002.
