Mark S. Keener
Mark Stephen Keener, 43, of St. George, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2002, at his home in Leadmine.
He was born Oct. 21, 1958, in Charleston, a son of Raymond and Mary Agnes Dennie Keener Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Brown Keener; two sons, Nicholas A. Keener and Tucker Stephen Keener, both of Winfield; one daughter, Katherine E. Keener, at home; three brothers, Raymond Keener III, Charleston, Timothy A. Keener, Las Vegas, Nev., and John F. Keener, Banner Elk, N.C.; and one sister, Katherine Lee Lazenby, Beckley.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Cynthia Ann Luzier.
Mr. Keener was a laborer for Dominion Power. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church of Charleston and a graduate of the University of Charleston.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A vigil services will be today at 7 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Lino Ebejer as celebrant. Gary L. Keller
Gary Lee Keller, 62, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2002, in the Beckley Veterans Hospital, following a short illness.
Mr. Keller was born March 22, 1940, in Arden, Barbour County, a son of the late Ernest L. and Hazel L. Felton Keller.
He was a retired iron worker.
Surviving are his wife, Lola Moore Keller of Russellville; one daughter, Sharon; four sons, Robert, Jeff, David and Brian; one sister, Thelma Dess of Buckhannon; and one brother, John Keller of Middletown, N.J.
Graveside services were conducted Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Wright Cemetery in Russellville with the Ansted and the Gauley Bridge VFW conducting military rites. Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted was in charge of the arrangements. From 11 and 12 June 2002.

Jesse D. Kelley
Jesse D. Kelley, 89, of 211 Wood St., Buckhannon, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Mr. Kelley was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Hampton, a son of late Daniel H. and Emma Belle Hoover Kelley.
He married Dorothy L. Smith Kelley, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Donald Kelley, Buckhannon; two daughters, Debra Smith, Weston, and Brenda Louk, Buckhannon; one brother, Troy Kelley, Buckhannon; one sister, Zuma Halstead, Buckhannon; and one grandson, Johnathon Smith, Rimersburg, Pa.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was a sanitation worker for the city of Buckhannon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Church Cemetery in Hampton. The Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 and Frank B. Viola M. Kelley
Viola Mae Kelley, 91, of Davis, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Garret County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md.
She was born May 7, 1911, in Breedlove, Horse Shoe Run, a daughter of the late Alpha Lawrence and Bertha May Knotts Slaubaugh.
Survivors include, one daughter, Melvina Warren of Davis; one brother, Joseph Slaughbaugh of Lodi, Ohio; four sisters, Elva Calcamp of Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home in Oakland, Md., Julia Scott and Bessie Sell, both of Horse Shoe Run, and Shirley Lanting of Aieu, Hawaii; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Kelley in 1991; one son, eight brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Kelley was a housewife. She was Past President Ladies Auxiliary FOE No. 936, Past Noble Grand Rebekah Lodge No. 274 and Past President Blackwater Civic Association.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis Friday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hinkle Funeral Chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Winter officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery. From 26 Sep 2002.

Helen V. Kendall
Helen V. Kendall, 93, of West Melbourne, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002.
She was born in Elkins and moved to Melbourne, Fla. in 1959, from Decatur, Ill.
A dedicated member of First Christian Church, Melbourne, Fla., she was active in their Christian Womens Fellowship and NAOMI Group.
She was the wife of the late Orval Kendall.
Her survivors include her two sons, Ralph "Nick" (Virginia) Kendall of Hadley, Mass., and Roger (Anne) Kendall of Malabar, Fla.; sister, Phylda (Maurice) Morton of Melbourne, Fla.; grandchildren, Chris, Wendy, Susan and Cynthia; great-grandchildren, Heather, Meredith, Andrew, Chaeli, Noah Mac, Courtney and Jordan; and her very special friend, Frank Kolbl.
The calling hour will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by services at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 2010 South Babcock St., Melbourne, Fla. 32901. Thurman Keplinger
Thurman Andrew Keplinger, 82, of Petersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Keplinger was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Petersburg, a son of the late Olie and Mattie Keplinger Keplinger.
He married Myrtle Hose Keplinger, who preceded him in death in 1978.
Surviving are a special companion, Louise Westfall, Petersburg; two sisters, Emily Veach, Maysville, and Verda Shaffer, Cabins; and several nieces and nephews, including Ronald "Babe" Feaster, Petersburg, whom he raised.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Keplinger; and a sister, Edna Feaster.
Mr. Keplinger worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways for several years.
He was a Methodist by faith.
Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg is in charge of the arrangements.

James H. Kerans Jr.
Graveside rites for James H. Kerans Jr., who died Dec. 14, 2001, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Heavner Cemetery, Buckhannon. VFW Post 3663 will present the honor guard.
Mr. Kerans is survived by his wife, Lorene George Kerans; one son, James Kerans III and wife, Brenda, of Williamsport, Pa.; one grandson, James Kerans IV of Boston, Mass; and one granddaughter Kelley and husband, Ben Lyngaard of Rodchester, Minn.

Robert J. Kern
Robert John Kern, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, in South Carolina.
He was born Dec. 12, 1919, in New Jersey, a son of the late Fred F. and Helen Mallay Kern.
Mr. Kern was a World War II, U.S. Air Force flight office and navigator and later served in the U.S. Air Force reserve. He was a 1941 graduate of The College of William and Mary.
Mr. Kern was a CPA with Price Waterhouse & Co.., Pogson, Peloubet & Co. and retired from ARCO Co. in 1978 before moving to the area in 1984. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Katherine Kern.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, A. Gene Kern; one son, Mike Kern and wife, Nancy, of Madison, Wisc.; two daughters, Barbara Kern of Salem, Mass., and Patte Huff of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Gretchen and Michelle Kern of Madison, Wisc., and Tyler and Marisa Huff of Myrtle Beach; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Murrells Inlet, S.C., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Garden City Beach, S.C. Hobert H. Kerns
Hobert H. Kerns, 84, of Medina, Ohio, and formerly of Dry Fork, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, in Medina Community Hospital.
Mr. Kerns was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Osceola, a son of the late Omer and Beulah Teter Kerns.
He married Eunice Kisamore Kerns, who survives. They were married for 51 years.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Presock, Medina, Ohio, and Terry Kerns, Stafford, Va.; three sons, Gary L. Kerns, Orlando, Fla., Bruce A. Kerns, Lodi, Ohio, and Timothy G. Kerns, Medina, Ohio; two sisters, Leona Ramsier, Wooster, Ohio, and Donna Teter, Elkins; and seven grandchildren, Saundra Plute, Julie, Keith, Corey, Kyle, Amy and Elycia.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Keith in 1967.
Mr. Kerns was a sheet metal worker for Henry Furnace and York International. He was a member of the AFL-CIO. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Funeral services were held in Medina, Ohio, at Waite and Son Funeral Homes on Feb. 6 with Kenneth Teter and David Zammert officiating. Interment followed in York Township Cemetery.

Odest L. Kerns
Odest "Otis" Lee Kerns, 79, a lifelong resident of Dry Fork, departed this life at 11:39 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at his home. He had been in declining health for the past two years and death was attributed to cancer.
He was born March 18, 1923, at Dry Fork, a son of the late William Kerns and Bertha Long Kerns.
He had never married.
Surviving are two brothers, Floyd Kerns, Dry Fork, and Forrest Kerns, Elkins; one sister, Tillie Kerns, Fayetteville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Harper, Emmit Glenn and Roy W. Kerns; and one sister, Roxanna Brinkman.
"Otis" attended the Johnson Graded School. He was a graduate of Harman High School and attended Davis & Elkins College. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. He was a farmer and woodsman. He was a member of Harman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5781 and was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, Mr. Kerns will be moved to Dry Fork Assembly of God Church, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon, the funeral hour. The Rev. Ken Plaster will officiate and interment will follow at the Smith Cemetery at Rich Mountain, Dry Fork. From 13 June 2002.

William H. Kerr
William Harvey "Bill" Kerr, 66, a resident of 45 George St., Elkins, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health, but his death was unexpected. He was born May 25, 1935, in Randolph County, a son of Beatrice Kerr Davis, who survives in Elkins, and the late Walter T. Kerr.
Also surviving is Alice Ketterman, his very special companion of 23 years and her son, James of 45 George St.; his stepfather, Coy Davis of Elkins; four sons, two daughter, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two
stepbrothers and two stepsisters.
Mr. Kerr was employed for several years in Colorado before returning to Elkins. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years and was a Pentecostal by faith.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Allen and Parker Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. From 20 May 2002.

Samuel V. Kesner
Samuel Victor Kesner, 87, of Rough Run, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, in Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.
Mr. Kesner was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Rough Run, a son of the late George Kesner and Clara Adaline Bond Kesner.
He married Stella S. Parsons Kesner, who survives. They had been married for 56 years.
Also surviving are two sons, Doug Kesner and wife, Melda, Dorcas, and Allen Kesner and wife, Kimberly, Broadway, Va.; five grandchildren, Tammy Kesner, Greg Kesner, Ben Kesner, Elizabeth Kesner and Laura Kesner; three stepgrandchildren, Shawna Cordray, Devin Cordray and Breanna Cordray; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Kesner and Autumn Kesner.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lena Westfall, Nellie Kesner, Myrtle Mongold and Beulah Sites; and five brothers, William "Babe" Kesner, Austin Kesner, Lester Kesner, John Kesner and Fred Kesner. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Kesner was a carpenter and farmer. He was a member and trustee of Hedrick Chapel United Methodist Church.

Lela Ketchem, 94, of Route 3, Shale Road, Belington, where she made her home with Maude Harris, and formerly of Union community, Philippi, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Ketchem was born Sept. 29, 1907, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late George Riley and Hulda Henrietta Burner McDaniel.
She married Karl B. Ketchem, who preceded her in death in 1985.
Surviving are nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Bernice Bolton and Virginia Ketchem; two sons, Bobby Ketchem and Marvin Garnett Ketchem; five brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Ketchem was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Church of Christ.

Adam Keith Ketterman, 21, of 207 1/2 Washington Ave., Elkins, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1981, in Elkins, a son of Dave Ketterman of Dryfork and Joyce Strader of Elkins and George Strader, also of Elkins.
Also surviving are his paternal grandmother, Mabel Ketterman of Dryfork, and his maternal grandparents, Sherman and Mary Sisler of Porterwood; three brothers, David, Phillip and Austin Ketterman of Dryfork; one sister, Kristina Teter and husband, Don, of Dryfork; and one niece, Kylie Teter of Dryfork.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gloria Sisler, and his paternal grandfather, Daniel Ketterman.
Adam was a 2002 graduate of Elkins High School and attended Crystal Springs Community Church.

Delbert Ketterman, 64, of Onego, and of Cortland Acres in Thomas, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002. He had been a resident there the past 4 1/2 years.
He was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Onego, a son of the late Arlie Ketterman and Beula Harper Ketterman.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two infant brothers.
Surviving are one sister, Arvella Haren of Warren, Ohio; two brothers, Hancel Ketterman and Oran Ketterman, both of Onego; two nieces and two nephews.
He was a member of Seneca United Methodist Church at Seneca Rocks.

Gerald Lee Davis Sr., 76, a resident of 110 Graham St., passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at his residence.

Velma Ketterman
Velma Ketterman, 84, of Riverton, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mrs. Ketterman was born Aug. 23, 1917, in Riverton, a daughter of the late Veach Lambert and Alice Raines Lambert.
On March 16, 1938, she married William Glenn Ketterman, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1994.
Surviving are a son, Ronald David Ketterman, Riverton; and a foster daughter, Karen Lynch, Chambersburg, Pa.
She was preceded in death by three sons and a daughter.
Mrs. Ketterman was a cook at Painter’s Restaurant at Seneca. She was a member of Brushy Run Mennonite Church.

V. Ruth Ketterman
V. Ruth Ketterman, 83, of Washington, D.C., died Friday, June 21, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 16, 1919, in Elkins, the daughter of Glen W. and Jessie Ketterman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brother, James "Bus" Ketterman, and by her sister, Jean Ellen Cloninger.
Ruth was director of financial affairs of the Georgetown Alumni House of Georgetown University for 45 years.
Surviving are two brothers, Randall G. Ketterman, Monson, Mass., and Glenn W. Ketterman Jr., Elkins; four sisters Mrs. George (Mary) Davis, Stuart, Fla., Mrs. Phil (JoAnn) Buchanan, Clermont, Fla., Mrs. Dallas (Glennandine) Auvil, Painesville, Ohio, and Mrs. Grant (Pat) Nestor, Elkins; several nieces and nephews.

Annie Evelyn Riggleman Kimble, 80, a resident of Route 2, Elkins, the Crystal Springs community, departed this life at 8:52 a.m. Saturday, Aug., 31, 2002, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for the past few weeks.
She was born Oct. 22, 1921, at Petersburg, the daughter of the late Arlie Riggleman and Verna Calhoun Riggleman.
On Dec. 19, 1944, she was married to Alvie Martin Kimble, who preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1985.
Surviving are three sons, Alvie D. "Joe" Kimble and wife, Linda, Flatwoods, Larry Kimble and Kim, Elkins, Roger Kimble and wife, Jody, Coalton; six daughters, Shirley George and husband, Lloyd, Lordstown, Ohio, Linda Haines and husband, Bill, and Sharon Coberly and husband, Robert, all of Elkins, Patsy Cates and husband, Timmy, and Debbie Ratzer and husband, Fred, all of Beverly, Carol Mayton and husband, Dennis, Colonial Heights, Va.; two sisters, Ruth Cline, Arthur, and Dorothy Shobe, Petersburg; 19 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Riggleman; and one grandson, Justin Kimble.
Mrs. Kimble was a graduate of Franklin High School, retired from the West Virginia Children’s Home, and was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church at Upper Tract. She enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening.

George Robert Kimble, 80, of HC 36, Box 396, Tallmansville, died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at his home in Buckhannon.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1922, in Randolph County, a son of the late Wilbert Isaac and Bertha Trussler Kimble.
On Feb. 22, 1947, he married Margaret Blanch Hamilton Kimble, who preceded him in death on March 26, 2000.
Surviving are one daughter, Eva Potts and husband, Junior, Buckhannon; three sons, Charles Kimble and wife, Sandra, and Gary Kimble and wife, Sherry, all of Buckhannon, and Terry Kimble and wife, Janet, Tallmansville; three brothers, Clarence Kimble, Volga, Othie Kimble, North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Riley Kimble, Elyria, Ohio; four sisters, Icie Mahaffie, Minnesota, Florence Tenney, Annie Fletcher and Marguerite Hawkins, all of Buckhannon; six grandsons, Andy Potts and Rob Kimble, both of Buckhannon, Adrian Kimble, Tallmansville, J.W. Kimble and Chris Kimble, both of Buckhannon, and Clayton Kimble, Tallmansville; two granddaughters, Darlene White, Buckhannon, and Diana Kimble, Tallmansville; two great-grandsons, Levi White and Spencer White, both of Buckhannon; and a great-granddaughter, Chantel White, Buckhannon.
He was preceded in death by two sons, George Edward Kimble and Thomas Wayne Kimble; two brothers, Albert Kimble and Wayne Kimble; and one sister, Lorrie Kimble.
He was a coal miner for Miami Coal Co. He served in the Army during World War II. From 6 Aug 2002.

Fillmore M. Kimbrew
Fillmore M. Kimbrew, 85, a resident of Huttonsville, passed away Sunday evening, March 10, 2002, in Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas.
He was born July 12, 1916, at Huttonsville, a son of the late Lawson and Beullah Channell Kimbrew.
On Aug. 23, 1940, at Monterey, Va., he was married to the former Katheleen G. Tacy, who survives at Huttonsville.
Also surviving are three daughters, Carolyn G. Vandevender and husband, Monroe, of Canton, Ohio, Shirley Jean Hess and husband, Terry, of Fairfax, Va., and Marilyn Donnetta Braun and husband, Terry, of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Dennis Kimbrew and wife, Betty, of Elkins, and Jason Kimbrew and wife, Nancy, of Beverly Hills, Fla.; one sister, Faye White of Beverly; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clinton Kimbrew; and two sisters, Charlotte Rosencrance and Katrina Kimbrew.
Mr. Kimbrew was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army as a technician with the 609th Engineer Light Equipment Co. Prior to 1961, he was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. In 1961, until his retirement in 1981, Mr. Kimbrew worked as a construction foreman at Huttonsville Correctional Center. He was a member of H.W. Daniels Post No. 29, American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church at Riffle’s Creek until it closed and later attended the Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles T. Kincaid
Charles T. Kincaid, 80, of Elyria, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in Elyria United Methodist Village, following a long illness.
Mr. Kincaid was born in Upshur County, a son of the late Bernie and Ora Mae Tolliver Kincaid.
He was married for 50 years to Gertrude Mealey, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen S. and Dave Roseler, Berlin Heights, Ohio, and Mary Lou and Mike Stovicek, Vermillion, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth W. and Joyce Kincaid, Elyria, Ohio, and Davis R. and Pauley Kincaid, LaGrange, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Katie and Ryan Roseler, Dana and Mandy Kincaid and Kyra and Sydney Stovicek.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Thomas Kincaid in 1971; and a brother, Joseph Ercel Kincaid.
Mr. Kincaid was employed by Columbia Gas for 31 years. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Elyria, Ohio.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home in French Creek today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. David C. Kingslake
David C. Kingslake, 65, a 20-year resident of Tucker County, Red Creek, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at his home in Canaan Valley.
He is survived by his mother and father, Rudolph and Hilda Kingslake of Rochester, N.Y.; his wife, Joan Kingslake of Norristown, Pa.; his friend, Dorothy Demboski of Canaan Valley; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann; and his brother, Alan.
He was a graduate of Lehigh University. He was a founder and past president of The Art Company of Davis.
He was an award winning designer-craftsman specializing in fine wood working, furniture and bowed psaltries. His work is represented in the permanent collection of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and other private collections and institutions.
His awards include Award of Excellence, West Virginia Juried Exhibition 1993 and 1995, and Award of Excellence, Crosscurrents in 1992.
He was a frequent exhibitor in numerous craft shows in the Mid Atlantic region, including The West Virginia Art and Craft Fair at Ripley, and the Mountain State Art and Craft at Harpers Ferry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice Inc., 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250. A celebration of his life will be held in August. From 2 July 2002.

Rachel M. Kirk
Rachel M. Kirk, 73, a former resident of Norton and a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home for the past five years, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at 11:58 a.m. in Davis Memorial Hospital, where she had been admitted on Monday evening.
She was born Feb. 18, 1929, at Norton, a daughter of the late Edward Lee and Beulah Hester Helmick Phillips.
On Feb. 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Howard Glenn Kirk, who preceded her in death on May 29, 1989.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were two brothers, Walter Lee Phillips and infant, Jerry Lewis Phillips.
She is survived by three daughters, Ellen M. Crist of Towson, Md., Patricia A. Bennett and husband, Michael, of Jimtown, and Barbara J. "Joey" McCauley and husband, Mark, of Beverly; three sons, Walter G. "Shorty" Kirk and wife, Wynette, of Louisiana, David A. Kirk and wife, Nancy, of Martinsburg, and William E. Kirk of Norton; five sisters, Marie McCauley and husband, Leon, of Maryland, Irene Kidder of Parkersburg, Mary Herron of Oakland, Md., Sandra Hart and husband, Lee, of Parsons, and Claramae Boserman and husband, Jack, of Parsons; two brothers, Keith Phillips and wife, Gail, of Parsons, and Gary "Jerry" Phillips and wife, Ruth, of Jimtown; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved quilting, crocheting and gardening. She was a Methodist by faith.

Burl F. Kirkpatrick, 69, of PO Box 151, Adrian, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
He was born March 4, 1933, in Paden City, a son of the late William Clifford and Anita Richardson Kirkpatrick.
Surviving are one son, Robert Kirkpatrick, Indiana; two brothers, William Kirkpatrick, Logan, Ohio, and Donald Kirkpatrick, Adrian; and two sisters, Freda Smith, Massillon, Ohio, and Darlene, California.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Hugo Ray Kirkpatrick.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was a machinist for RW Screw Co. He was a Baptist by faith. From 18 Mar 2002.

Evelyn M. White Kirkpatrick, 89, a resident of Elkins, and more recently a resident of Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, departed this life early Wednesday morning, April 17, 2002, at the center. She had been in declining health for the past four years and death was attributed to a stroke.
She was born Friday, Jan. 31, 1913, at Job, a daughter of the late Perry White and Lucy Alice Hartman White.
On Feb. 18, 1933, at Elkins, she was married to Ernest Edgar Kirkpatrick, who preceded her in death on July 13, 1983.
Surviving are three sons, Edgar "Ed" Kirkpatrick and wife, Virginia, Harding, Richard Kirkpatrick and Wayne Kirkpatrick, both of Elkins; two daughters, Rachel A. Reed and husband, Robert, Whitmer, and Erma Booth and husband, Nelson, Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Dorsie White and wife, Annette, Painesville, Ohio; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Russell White; and two sisters, Fannie Judy and Ruth Sites.
She attended the schools of Whitmer, was a homemaker and exceptional baker and a former member of Elkins First Church of the Nazarene.

Jennings Harold Kitzmiller, 84, a resident of the Chenoweth Creek Road, passed away at 2 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at his residence.
He was born April 11, 1917, in Bemis, a son of the late Claude H. and Nelle A. Williams Kitzmiller.
On Oct. 11, 1937, at Tom’s Brook, Va., he was married to Alene Whiteman Kitzmiller, who survives at Chenoweth Creek.
Also surviving are two sons, Jay Kitzmiller, Paradise, Calif., and Robert Kitzmiller of Buckhannon; two daughters, Joyce Auman of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jeanie Morrison of Elkins; one brother, Eugene Kitzmiller of Elkins; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death was one brother, Max Kitzmiller.
Mr. Kitzmiller was the owner and operator of Kitzmiller Lumber Co. prior to his retirement. He was a 50-year member of Elkins Lodge No. 108 AF & AM and a member of First Church of Christ in Elkins, having served as deacon and treasurer of the church.

Dr. Mary Alice Klein
Dr. Mary Alice Klein, 68, a well known educator and a native of Tucker County, departed this life Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2002, at her home. She fought a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 18, 1934, at Stringtown, a daughter of the late Robert Wyatt Lambert and Floda Agnes Hedrick Lambert.
On Aug. 18, 1956, at Sharon, Pa., she married Robert J. Klein, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Robert Zachary Klein, Morgantown; two daughters, Jennifer Elizabeth Klein, Reston, Va., and Amanda Klein Snyder and husband, Tim, Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Robert "Bruz" Lambert and wife, Jeannette, Thomas; two sisters, Hilda Thomas, Thomas, and Shirley Perozziello and husband, Joe, Randallstown, Md.; and four grandchildren, Samantha Fleming, Timmy Snyder, Klye Fleming and Zoe Snyder, all of Virginia Beach, Va.
She was a graduate and valedictorian of Thomas High School with the class of 1951. She was a graduate with the class of 1955 of Shepherd College. During 1978, she earned her masters degree in educational administration at West Virginia University and was one of 11 people who qualified for the first doctoral cohort program, receiving her doctorate in education, while working full-time in 1994. She began her teaching career in Charles Town, and taught in Maryland and Pennsylvania before returning to Tucker County in 1972 to teach at St. George Academy.
Dr. Klein served as principal at Hamrick Elementary beginning in 1978 and served as superintendent of Tucker County School from 1986 to 1999. She became superintendent of Upshur County schools for the last two years of her educational career, retiring to Parsons in June of 2001.
Among her many awards and achievements were West Virginia Superintendent of the Year, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Scholarship Award for doctoral study in 1993-1994, Superintendent of the Year for music education by West Virginia Music Educators Association in 1992, Tucker County Chamber of Commerce highest award of Tuckineer in 1991, West Virginia Women’s Commission "Celebrate Women" Outstanding Education Award in 1989 and Tucker County Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year Award in 1983.
Her professional and civic organizations include the American Association of School Administrator, president of the West Virginia Association of School Administrators in 2000, Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Society, Phi Delta Kappa of West Virginia University Chapter and Charter member of the Tucker Community Endowment Foundation, Tucker County Arts Council Board of Directors, Tucker County Chamber of Commerce, president of Tucker County Rotary Club and River City Garden Club.
Dr. Klein always believed in the potential and ability of each person and dedicated her career to providing an educational system that would allow individuals opportunities to strive towards excellence. Dr. Klein’s vision and passion for education as a means for a better quality of life for all people inspired all whom she met. She believed that nothing is safe without honor and integrity and lived her life on those principles.
Friends will be received at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Thursday morning, Dr. Klein will be moved to the First United Methodist Church at Elkins, where friends may call from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. Donald B. Kline
Donald B. Kline, 69, of Buckhannon, departed this life Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at his home following an extended illness and was under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.
He was born Feb. 27, 1933, at Worcester, Mass.
He married Mardell Cogar Kline of Buckhannon and formerly of Webster Springs. They had been married for 37 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Donna Kline of Worcester, Mass.; two sons, Barry Kline of Worcester, Mass., and Steven Kline of Worcester, Mass; and three grandsons, Anthony, Justin and Jason Kline, all of Worcester, Mass.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 1/2 years as a master chief petty officer. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, he worked for Wal-Mart Corp. of Weston and Buckhannon for several years. He was a lifetime member of the Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 and the Fleet Reserve Assoc.
Mr. Kline was an avid birder and enjoyed stamp collecting.
Friends will be received at Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William C. Shirley A. Knapp
Shirley Alice (Griffin) Knapp, a resident of Maple Lake, Bridgeport, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002.
She was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Kinta, Okla., but lived at Maple Lake for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Knapp completed an associate degree from Eastern Oklahoma College and then worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C., during World War II. She met and married Walter E. Knapp Jr., an Army-Air Corps technical sergeant, in 1944. During their 54-years together, they lived in Gastonia and Myrtle Beach, N.C.; Valley Bend; Monterey and Harrisonburg, Va.; and Maple Lake, Bridgeport.
Mrs. Knapp was an office-holder and active in the Maple Lake Women’s Club, lake and community activities, PTA and school activities. She also worked outside the home until her retirement approximately 20 years ago. Her interests included her family, reading, walking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Knapp Jr.; a brother, Amon Griffin of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Lillian Milano of Wilburton, Okla.; two infant brothers of Kinta, Okla.; her parents, Samual Aaron and Elizabeth McMillion Griffin of Wilburton, Okla.; and a grandson, Aaron Knapp of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol and son-in-law, Steve Ayers, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; son, Lynn, and daughter-in-law, Sandy Knapp of Fort Wayne, Ind.; granddaughter, Rani Byme of Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandson, Colin, and granddaughter, Kelsey Knapp, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; sister, Lottie, and brother-in-law, Jack Nash, of Wilburton, Okla.; and nieces and nephews in Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and Germany.
Mrs. Knapp was a member of the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church.

Dorothy S. Knicely
Dorothy Sue Knicely, 58, of Route 5, Box 511, Buckhannon, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Knicely was born Oct. 19, 1943, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Edward and Edith Warner Peters.
On Jan. 24, 1964, she married James M. Knicely, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Terry Knicely and Rick Knicely, both of Buckhannon, and Larry Knicely, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Vicky Knicely Kelley, Buckhannon; four grandsons, Cole Kelley, Jason Knicely and Justin Knicely, all of Buckhannon, and Seth Knicely, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and two granddaughters, Kelly Knicely and Morgan Knicely, both of Buckhannon.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Peters.
Mrs. Knicely was a homemaker. She was a member of the Gideons Ladies Auxiliary, Holbrook’s Auxiliary and Upshur County Singers Association. She attended Buckhannon Union Mission Church.

Nellie R. Knicely
Nellie Rillia Herndon Knicely, 88, of Eden, died Sunday, April 28, 2002.
She was born April 4, 1914, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Charles Arnett and Minnie Susan Riley Herndon.
She was married to Owen Levi Knicely, who passed away Aug. 16, 1977.
She is survived by one daughter, Merle Mildred Knicely Walton and husband, Charles Franklin Walton, of Eden; one brother, Russell Paul Herndon of Hughsville, Md.; one sister, Willie Heaster Herndon Bennett of Weston; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie Mildred Herndon Lee and Della Herndon; and four brothers, Charlie Herndon, William Junior Herndon, Arnett Dayton Herndon and Raese Simon Herndon.
Mrs. Knicely was a member of the Non Denominational Church at Canaan. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers and was loved by all.

Thelma Knippenberg
Thelma A. Knippenberg, 76, of Route 2, Elkins, died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at the home of Carla George in Harpertown, with whom she resided.
Mrs. Knippenberg was born April 2, 1925, in Rainelle, a daughter of Bernice O. Butcher, who survives in Elkins, and the late Charles Blankenship.
On Dec. 20, 1948, in Hagerstown, Md., she married George A. Knippenberg, who preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1978.
Surviving are a daughter, Evelyn Warner, Dailey; a special niece, Carla George, with whom Mrs. Knippenberg resided; four brothers, Elmer "Junior" Butcher, Elkins, Robert Butcher, Belington, Richard Butcher, Colonial Heights, Va., and Freeman "Joe" Butcher, Elkins; a sister, Peg Kalar, Elkins; three grandchildren, Lori Hinchman, Mark Warner and Crystal Gibson; three great-grandchildren, Brooke and Clay Hinchman and Logan Warner; and a great-niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin "Sherwood" Butcher and Bruce Butcher.
Mrs. Knippenberg was employed by the A&P Store in Cumberland, Md., prior to her retirement.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Elkins.

On July 10, 1955, at Red House, Md., he was married to the former Hazel Jean Jenkins, who survives. They had celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Also surviving are three sons, Steven Allen Knotts and wife, Barbara, Greg Arthur Knotts and wife, Sue, and Douglas Gene Knotts, all of Sugarlands; one daughter, Cynthia Jean "Cindy" Huffman and husband, Roy, Sugarlands; two sisters, Mary E. Watring, Shaffertown, and Bernice E. VanMeter and husband, Clifford, Close Mt.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Elsie F. Roy.
He attended the one-room school at Sugarlands. He was a woodsman, construction worker and a former employee of the West Virginia Division of Highways. He was a member of Labor Local 984 of Clarksburg, a member of the Tucker County Fair Association and a member of the Sugarlands Church of the Brethren. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.

Louise J. Knotts
Louise Josephine Knotts, 89, a resident of the Saint George Community, Parsons, departed this life early Thursday morning, Aug. 29, 2002, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md. She had been in declining health for the past week and death was attributed to heart failure.
She was born Feb. 11, 1913, at Bayard, a daughter of the late Mervin Shambaugh and Grace Bosley Shambaugh.
On April 20, 1929, at Red House, Md., she was married to Delton Knotts, who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1983.
Surviving are four sons, Delton Knotts Jr. and wife, Jean, St. George, Mervin Knotts and wife, Karen, Morgantown, William Knotts and Norman Knotts and wife, Gabriella, all of St. George; seven daughters, Pauline Lowther and husband, Jesse, St. George, Malora Corbin, Oakland, Md., Adeline Snyder and husband, Kelly, Parsons, Arlene Ramsey and husband, Robert, St. George, Patty Wilfong and husband, Sonny, Parsons, Judy Ternent, Lonaconing, Md., and Jones and husband, Keith, St. George; one sister, Audria King, Gorman, Md.; 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Clarence Knotts; one daughter, Karen Sue Knotts, five brothers and three sisters.
She attended the schools of Bayard. She was a member of the Leadmine United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the Church. She was a member of the Tucker County Senior Center, the Goldenaires and the Liberty Rebekah Lodge 95, Parsons.
The family will receive friends at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Virgil H. Koon
Virgil H. Koon, 81, of HC 71 Box 13, Ellamore, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born March 27, 1921, at Mabie, a son of the late Freeman H. and Etta Mae Goodwin Koon.
On Feb. 14, 1942, he married Edna Booth Koon, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Gary Koon, Ellamore, Danny Koon, Madisonville, Ky., and Michael Koon, Scott Depot; one brother, Rex Koon, Philippi; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mack Koon and Keith Hinkle.
Mr. Koon was a business owner of Koon’s Service Center. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Before entering the Navy he worked for Bethlehem Fairfield Ship Yard building liberty ship. He was the founding member of Ellamore Volunteer Fire Department and served many years with the Upshur County Emergency Squad. He was a member of the West Virginia Turkey Hunters Hall of Fame.
He attended Gertrude Chapel United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Vicki Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckannon. From 19 Aug 2002.

Starling Kramer Sr.
Starling Hull Kramer Sr., 81, of Chesterfield, Va., died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at the home of his daughter, Shelia Kramer Mullen.
Surviving are a son, Starling Hull Kramer Jr. and wife, Sharon Latham, Middleburg, Fla.; two daughters, Marlene Kramer, Iverness, Fla., and Sheila Kramer Mullen and husband, Thomas, Chesterfield; a brother, Earle Kramer, Staunton, Va.; two sisters, Ann Tobias, Ellicott City, Md., and Alice Houchins, Crewe, Va.; a sister-in-law, Mildred Morris, Richmond, Va.; and five grandchildren, Clayton Hull Kramer, Alanna Denise Kramer and Christopher Michael Kramer, all of Jacksonville, Fla., and Marissa Anne Mullen and Natalie Elizabeth Mullen, both of Chesterfield, Va.
Mr. Kramer was retired from the U.S. Navy with more than 30 years of service.

Douglas H. Krantz
Douglas H. Krantz, 53, a resident of 317 Davis St., Elkins, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, Aug. 15, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital emergency department.
He was born July 21, 1949, in North Tonawanda, N.Y., a son of Howard Krantz of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and the late Clara Weber Krantz.
He was married to Judith Gaul Krantz, who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving are five sons, Gregory Krantz and Vycki of Linesville, Pa., Timothy Krantz and Kevin Krantz, both of Elkins, Patrick Krantz of New Wilmington, Pa., and Benjamin Krantz of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; three sisters, Paula Caterina, Niagara Falls, N.Y., Mary Freeman and Patricia McGee, both of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; and five grandchildren, Summer Jane, Mandy, Grace, Lainey and Noah.
Mr. Krantz attended the schools of New York and graduated from Gannon University in Erie, Pa. He was a member of the National Guard for six years. He was employed by Kmart Corporation for 22 years and served as manager of the Elkins Kmart Store. He was currently employed as loan officer for the Mountain Valley Bank at Mill Creek. He was involved in many community activities in the Elkins area and was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A prayer service will be recited at 7 p.m. today from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Father William Anderson presiding. On Saturday, Mr. Krantz will be moved to St. Brendan Catholic Church, where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. The Rev. William A. Krebs
William Arthur Krebs, 60, a resident of Monterville, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at his home.
He was born April 11, 1941, at Westminster, Md., a son of the late Heindel Snyder and Hilda Barber Krebs.
He was married to Tolly Worthington Peuleche, who survives at Monterville.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Zaranski of Finksburg, Md., and Andrea Abend of New Windsor, Md.; two brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren.
Mr. Krebs was retired from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, where he was the director of Maryland Program Open Space.
At the request of the deceased, his remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church at Westminster, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to The Conservation Fund, 1800 N. Kent St., Suite 1120, Arlington, Va. 22209 in memory of Mr. Krebs. Hazel T. Kump
Hazel Turner Kump, 87, a former resident of 41 High St., Elkins, and for the past 1 1/2 years a resident of Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, departed this life Thursday evening, March 14, 2002, at the center.
She was born July 8, 1914, at La Grange, Ga., a daughter of the late William Henry Turner and Hazel Vorus Turner.
On Sept. 6, 1933, at La Grange, Ga., she was married to Cyrus Scott Kump, who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1964.
Surviving are six children, Hazel Kump Burford, Elkins, William Turner Kump and wife, Agnes, Newport News, Va., Ann Kump Finley and husband, George, Ocala, Fla., Meredith Kump Beaver and husband, Daniel, East Berlin, Pa., Herman Guy Kump II and wife, Anita, Steffisburg, Switzerland, and Cyrus Kerr Kump and wife, Susan, Elkins; one sister, Meredith Turner Smith, Atlanta, Ga.; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, Mary Gamble Kump and June Kump.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Turner Smith; and one great-grandson.
Mrs. Kump attended the schools of La Grange, Ga., and Agnes Scott College at Atlanta, Ga. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of John Hart Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Confederacy, the Woman’s Club of Elkins, the American Association of University Women, the Davis & Elkins College Aid, the Phi Mu Fraternity and the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Dr. Lacy Bible Class and Circle No 2.
She had served as president of the women of the church from 1956 to 1958 and in 1958, was awarded life membership in the women of the church. She delivered Meals-on-Wheels and was an avid bridge player and reader.
Friends will be received at Lohr-Barb-Vance Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. On Tuesday, Mrs. Kump will be moved to Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, where final rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jeff Falter will officiate and interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Elkins-Randolph County Public Library, 416 Davis Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or to Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, 450 South Randolph Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241. Beulah S. Kuykendall
Beulah Simmons Kuykendall, 90, formerly of Petersburg, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, in Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas.
She was born Aug. 3, 1911, in Brushy Run, a daughter of the late Salem Kimble and Minnie Alt Kimble.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Kuykendall on Nov. 28, 1993. She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Beulah was a member of Parsons Church of God in Parsons.
Surviving are one son, Carrol B. Simmons and wife, Zona of Beverly; three granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
Friends will be received at Schaeffer Funeral Home Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deanna Harman Kuykendall, 37, of Petersburg, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at her residence after a battle with cancer.

Harry W. Kyle, 71, a resident of Elkins, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 15, 2002, at Nella’s Nursing Home at Crystal Springs.

Harry W. Kyle Sr.
Harry W. Kyle Sr., 71, a former resident of the Chenoweth Creek Road, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 15, 2002, in Nella’s Nursing Home at Crystal Springs, where he had been a patient since 1994.
He was born Dec. 21, 1931, at Beverly, a son of Wave Smith Kyle Ratliff, who is a patient in the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, and the late Glen Woodrow Kyle.
On Aug. 16, 1960, at Warm Springs, he was married to Catherine Lucille Mace Kyle, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Harry Kyle Jr. of Elkins, Gary Kyle of Beverly, and William Kyle of Elkins; two daughters, Sherry Kyle of Morgantown, and Rosemary Kyle of Elkins; three stepsons, Calvin Wilson of Navarre, Ohio, Jimmy Wilson of Elkins, and Roger Wilson of Ohio; one sister, Sandra Doyle of Beverly; and three grandchildren, Heather Kyle of Elkins, Justin Simmons of Beverly, and Chelsie Watson of North Carolina.
Mr. Kyle was employed for 27 years at Labcraft in Beverly. He was an accomplished musician having played fiddle, guitar and banjo in several local bands. He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Shreve and the Rev. A.H. Belt officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. From 17 Sep 2002.
