WILSON, FARLEY, ELLISON:  Am looking for the location of Farley's Fort,
Snidow's Knob, for the purposes of untangling the large WILSON population
in the period 1750-1820 living in Greenbrier and Monroe counties.  Wondered
if these places ended up in Summers Co. when the county was formed.
Specifically looking for confirmation of the parents of William Gordon WILSON
(his death certificate in 1876 says William and Mary WILSON), but don't know
which William!

I am researching the James and Susan Martin BARTON family of Summers Co.
They were married in Franklin Co., VA Jan. 13, 1795. Susan was the daughter
of John MARTIN and Permillia MEADOR. James and Susan had children in
Bedford Co. before leaving for Monroe Co. ca 1840. Children: Willis b. 1820
married (1)Rachel Neely (2) Angelina (Hale) Via; Elizabeth A. b. 1823 mar.
Adam MANN, Jr.; Andrew b. 1825 mar. Jane ABBOTT; Joel b. 1827  mar. Mary J. NOBLE; James, Jr. b. 1830 mar. (1) Sarah Ann MANN (2) Florence WYATT; Eliza b. 1835 mar. Littleberry W. NOBLE. Does anyone know any of these names?

I'm interested in biographical information from the descendants of Samuel
GWINN, b. c1745-d.25 Mar 1839, or Moses GWINN  b.1760/74-1822/3. I have
been to the Wade Hampton GWINN cemetery at Green Sulphur Springs and have seen there graves.  I understand that the cemetery is on land still owned by the descendants of Samuel GWINN and his son Ephriam.  I'm not sure, but the
family tree and information I have received from relatives living in that area seems to indicate it.  I am interested in knowing any biographical information and/or in viewing any pictures or paintings of these men or their wives. I'm a descendant of Samuel GWINN thru Moses thru William(1812-1901) thru Harvey(1849-1919) thru Henry (1880-1959) thru Lemuel (1905-1967) thru

I am looking for information on my grandfathers family. My Grandfather, FLOYD EUGENE NEELY was born in June of 1911 in Mercer Co. His parents names
are LUTHER NEELY and TINY ESTHER WILEY NEELY. I am looking for the Maiden name for his mother (Wiley is from her first marriage)and her date and place of birth. And I'm looking for the date and place of birth for his father.
They had five children together (Eva, Carl, Clarence, Floyd,& Bernice).
Tiny Esther had six children by her first marriage.

My mother was Myrtle Marie DODD, daughter of James Edgar DODD, son of Floyd Washington DODD and Catherine Estaline KESSLER. I still have family in Hinton Catherine Elizabeth DODD NOBLE (Libby) but she hasn't been much help in the history department. I have been trying to get the date of this years DODD Family Reunion at Pipestem so I can attend, My 2 sisters in RI and 1 cousin are also wanting to meet me there.  I had heard there were 5 Dodd brothers who came over from Ireland and know one knows any more than that.

I am looking for info on James C. BOWDEN born abt. 1842 & he married Mary
Jane (Molly) WICKLINE on Nov 21, 1865 in Monroe Co, WV.  She was the d/o
Uriah Wilbur WICKLINE & Sarah NEAL.  Mary Jane Wickline BOWDEN died 1930.  They had two (2) children that I know of.  1. Edward Stanley BOWDEN  born April 15, 1874 in Hgnt, Cabell Co, WV and died Sept 11, 1955 in Hinton,
Summers Co, WV.  He married Grace Ellen SMITH.  2. Mollie BOWDEN born 1876 & died 1957. , she married _____ GRAHAM.  All of the above are buried in the Clayton Cemetery near Hinton, Summers Co., W.Va.

My wife's great grandparents Nancy WOOLWINE and Robert GRIMES are supposed to buiried at Pence Springs.  However, I have not been able to locate their graves.  I believe that they may be buried in the cemetery that is on the mountain side above Pence Springs just above the little red schoolhouse.  If anyone knows the location of these graves, I would appreciate their help.
