"All the earlier connection but Jesse went West, and he removed to Smith Creek, 1844. Samuel remained awhile at Ft. Seybert and taught. The family possessions in that locality aggregated about 800 acres. The surviving sons of Jesse are the venerable John B. near Riverton and Jacob L. in Propst's Gap." (Morton, 1910).
