Robert James Tracy is a most promising young man in Carroll district, Lincoln
county, an excellent school teacher, and a credit to the society in which he mingles. He is a native of Bland
county, Virginia, born December 5, 1861, and settled in Lincoln county in 1870. R. J. Tracy's parents were
John William and Martha A. (Lambert) Tracy; the former died in Texas in 1869, and the latter resides in
Lincoln county. Joseph Lambert, grandfather of Mr. Tracy, was a soldier in the Mexican war. Robert J. Tracy
became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, January 5, 1883, and has since lived the life of a consistent
Christian. His postoffice address is Hamlin, Lincoln county, West Virginia.
