Addie M. (Siders) Hackney, 82, 1916-1998, of Sissonville died Nov. 9, 1998, at home after a long illness. She attended Pocatalico Community Church and was a native of Jackson County. Surviving: daughters, Mildred Mairs and Gladys Kessinger, both of Sissonville; son, Bob Hackney of Sissonville; sisters, Marjorie (Siders) Campbell and Arvie (Siders) Ashby, both of Sissonville, Geraldine (Siders) Hackney of Ripley; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Burial will be in John Beane Cemetery, Sissonville. HACKNEY, ALVA ERVIN

Alva Ervin Hackney 86, 6/20/1897 - 10/12/1983 of Box 5, Blount, died Wednesday at home after a long illness. He was a native of Blount; and a retired employee of Campbell Creek Railroad and Amherst Industries. Surviving won, Acy of Blount: daughters Mrs. Juanita Spangler of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Barbara Abner of Charleston: eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Stevens-Glass Funeral Home, at Malden, with the Rev. Irwin Brown officiating. Burial will be in Belcher Cemetery, Blount. Mrs. Audra Marie Hackney 58, 7/3/1929 - 2/22/1988, of Cicerone Route, Sissonville, died Feb. 22, 1988 at home after a long illness. She was a cook for Kanawha County Board of Education for 25 years, spending the last 15 years at Flynn Elementary School. She was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church, Sissonville. Surviving; husband, Columbus O. Hackney; daughters, Mrs. Judy Huffman and Mrs. Charlotte Bennett, both of Charleston, Mrs. Lue Skeen of Sissonville, Fay Renaud of Hartford, Conn.; sons, Gene of Tuppers Creek, Olin of Blue Creek; sisters, Beatrice Wickline and Delores Beckett, both of Charleston, Magaline Painter of Walton, Pauline Newhouse and Kay Taylor, both of Sissonville; brothers, Roberta and Charles Pauley, both of Elkview, Glen Pauley of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Johnny Pauley of Sissonville; nine grandchildren; one great- grandchild. Bertha L. BALSER O'Dell Hackney 62, 3/2/1935 - 12/14/1997 of Montgomery died Sunday Dec. 14, 1997 in Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Charleston, was a life long resident of Kanawha County, a homemaker and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Surviving; daughter Carolyn James of Glasgo, Jean Green of Harpers Ferry, Patty Nicholson of Gauley Bridge, Pamala Young of Mammonth, sons; Charles O'dell of Crossville Alabama, Stephen O'Dell and Gary O'Dell of Harper's Ferry. 17 Grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. DELLA HACKNEY 69, 7/7/1923 - 3/122/1993, of Blount, died Monday March 22, 1993 at home after a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County and a Baptist. Surviving; sister Gladys A. James E. Hackney 77 of Swiss, 6/20/1917 - 6/30/1884, formerly of Campbell's Creek, died June 30. 1994 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness. He was born at Quick. He was a retired coal miner for Central Appalachian Coal Co. Montgomery, with 30 years service. He was a member of UMW and Swiss Baptist Church. Surviving daughter, Patty Pope of Swiss, son James D. of Beech Glen; sister Gladys Hudnall of Campbell's Creek; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Service will be 3 PM. Sunday at Swiss Baptist Church with the Reverend Jadie Morris officiating. Burial will be in Simms Memorial Church Cemetery, Swiss, WV. Friends may call two hours prior ot service at the Church. HACKNEY, JOHN GRANT SR.

John Grant Hackney Sr., 9/26/1919 - 12/15/1985�of Charleston died Sunday Dec. 15, 1985 in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. He was a retired lawyer and a former divorce commissioner in Kanawha County. He was a former president of Charleston Musicans Union and West Virginia University student body. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Delta Theta and Mountain and Sphinx honorary. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a lifelong resident of Charleston. Surviving son, John Grant Jr. of Charleston, daughter Mrs. Harriet Grant Peppler of Honolulu, three grandchildren. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church chapel with the Rev. Douglas Heidt officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the American Cancer Society. Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lena Liota Hackney 89, 1904? - 5/15/1993, of Cedar Grove died May 15, 1993 in route to Memorial Division, CAMC after a long illness. She was a native of Bellaire, Ohio. She was a former supervisor for F.W. Woolworth Co. Cleveland. She was a member of Cedar Grove Church of God and lived most of her life at Cedar Grove. Surviving; sons, Howard L. of Cedar Grove, Edgar M. of Gladwin, Mich; daughter, Wanda Hackney of Cedar Grove; sister Mary Oliver Montgomery of Cedar Grove; 10 grandchildren.

Loshie E. Hackney, 91, of Sissonville died Aug. 7, 1999, in Arthur B. Hodges Care Center after a long illness. His wife Nancy SHEPHARD Hackney 64, 7/18/1924 - 4/14/1989, died April 14, 1989 in General division CAMC after a short illness. Mr. Hackney was a retired route salesman for Valley Bell Dairy, He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was formerly of Campbells Creek. He was a 20 year resident of Charleston. Mrs. Hackney attended Springfork Missionary Baptist church. She was formerly of Handley. Surviving; son, Billy Lee, address unknown, daughters, Annette Diehl of South Charleston, Mary Lou Hackney of Clearwater, Fla; five grandchildren. Also surviving Mr. Hackney; sisters, Nellie Blackburn of Belle, Rachel Craddock of Campbells Creek. Fidler-Frame Funeral Home, Belle, is in charge of arrangements. William Eugene's parents were William Henry & Mary Leah STONE.

Haynes, Rev. John R.

Rev. John R. Haynes, 85 years old, veteran of the Civil war, died at seven o'clock yesterday morning at his home in Guthrie. Mr. Haynes received a stroke of paralysis about two years ago and has not been able to walk since that time. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. T. L. Carpenter of Sissonville road; Mrs. A. E. Whittington of Guthrie; Mrs. Talmadge Carpenter of Charleston; Samuel, Rufus, Daniel, L. S., R. J., Owen and Lonnie Haynes of Guthrie. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock next Sunday afternoon at the Tuppers Valley Baptist church with Rev. Peter Moore in charge, assisted by Rev. Thomas Melton.

Mrs. J. R. Headley, former member of the Kanawha City Presbyterian church, died at Roswell, N. Mex., according to word received here yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Headley moved to New Mexico on November 1, 1928, on account of Mrs. Headley's poor health.
