LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF

WILLIAM MAY

At a Court held for Kanawha County at the Court House thereof on Monday, the 10th September, 1827.

The Last Will and Testament of William May decd late of this County was this day presented in court proved by the oaths of George Morrison & William Conner subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded.

Kanawha County Virginia April 16th 1824

In name of God Amen. I William May of the County and State aforesaid find myself in my perfect senses do make this my last Will and Testament, first I will and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth May my sorrell mare and colt, also my Jack Horse, likewise all my cattle and household furniture. After all my just debts are paid also I will to my son Wm May one dollar, also I will to my son Thomas May one dollar , also I will to y son … May one … , I will to my son Reuben one dollar, also to my daughter Hannah May one dollar, also to my daughter Jane Stewart one dollar, also to my daughter Elizabeth Elkins one dollar, which is to be paid out of my Estate. I testimony whereof I have set my hand and seal this day and date above written.
