I am looking for any information on my gr-gr-grandmother Mary [aka Lina]E. CHISHOLM (bSep 1865, MD) who married Thomas E. SHILLINGBURG,(bApr1860, WV) married 11 Jul 1883. Mary's parents were Alexander Chisholm,b1840, married to Nancy Emma Biggs (b1844, Ryans Glade, MD) on 18 Nov1862. According to family stories, Mary is part Indian, and her mother Nancy Emma Biggs was likely full-blooded Indian, possibly Shawnee or Cherokee. I would like very much to confirm our family story of Indianblood. Of course, I will be happy to share any information I have. Mary's brothers and sisters were: Melroy, b.1863, Alexander M, b1864, Augustus, b1867, Elizabeth, b1869, Helen, b1873, Lucretia, b1875, and William A.,b1880.

My Great, Great, Grandfather " Philip MOORE " died in Petersburgin 1862, while serving with the union forces in the Civil War. Does anyone know if there is a Civil War cemetery in or near Petersburg?

I am searching the EVANS Family that settled at Greenland Gapcirca 1800, although this area was then in Hardy County. First settler was Benjamin Evans who married Priscilla Bosley. They had a son Abraham and perhaps a son Jacob and a son Edward (Ned), although not evidence as to Jacob and Ned and this is the information I seek. 1850 census for Hardy County lists Benjamin's birth stateas PA. Who were his parents and where in Pa was he born. I have much information on the Evans from Edward (Ned) to present and will gladly share. Also have information on Kessels who married frequently with the Evans. It was said all settled at Orr's Mountain. Where is that? Contact Mike Foreman at:[email protected]

I am looking for any information on my gr-gr-grandmother Mary CHISHOLM(b?) who married Thomas SHILLINGBURG (b?) abt. 1879. Mary likely took her new husband's name, therefore I'm also looking for information on Mary Shillingburg. Mary and Thomas resided for an undetermined number of years in Gormania, WV (Grant Co.) and had several children born in Gormania including Emily (my great grandmother), born 3/10/1881, Herbert born 4/10/1900, Condon, b10/1/1896, Inez, b1887, Thomas Edward, b4/13/1891 and Elmer, b?. Emily is the 'real' author of the book "Big Doc, Little Doc", a book about the traveling doctors in my family in rural WV around the turn of the century, published by McClain Printing Co., Parsons, WV

WALLACE, Mini b. 1860, Petersburg, Grant Co., West Virginia. Mini WALLACE was my ggrandmother, she married Wm. Alward BANCROFT on May 02, 1889 in Kearney, Nebraska. I have no information onher parents or sibling. Her parents did not approve of her marriage to my ggrandfather and no further information was passed down. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm researching the Hizer family tree. Harvey Hizer of Greenbrier married Melissa White of Fayette County - don't know the date, but it had to bemore than 80 years ago.
