Berkeley County, West Virginia Biography of Jacob E. WOLFORD


         Jacob E. WOLFORD, son of Jacob B. and Sarah E. (Brewer) Wolford, was born in Washington County, Maryland, October 25, 1855, and moved to the Falling Waters district of Berkeley County in November 1881. His parents were also born in that county — his father on January 5, 1817, and his mother on March 4, 1833. His maternal grandfather, Peter Brewer, was also born in that county on June 8, 1788 and died March 3, 1877; his maternal grandmother (name not given) was born there in 1803 and died in 1842.

         Jacob Wolford and Maria C. Miller, also a native of Washington County, were married in that county and state on October 26, 1881. She was the daughter of John W. and Sarah A. (Dellinger) Miller. Her father was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on September 18, 1820 and died in Washington County, Maryland, in 1877; her mother was born in Washington County on August 17, 1815.

         Jacob E. Wolford was a merchant, with a mailing address of Falling Waters, Berkeley County, West Virginia.
