Benjamin Franklin SPEROW was born in Berkeley County, West Virginia, on April 3, 1844, the son of William and Rebecca (Duble) Sperow.
In Washington County, Maryland, on Thursday, October 13, 1870, Benjamin Sperow and Elizabeth Friend, daughter of Henry and Ann (Watts) Friend of that county,
were married. She was born in that county and state, August 3, 1832. Henry Friend was an esteemed resident of Funkston in Washington County and died there on May 13, 1872,
at the age of 72. Mrs. Friend continued to live in that area.
