Berkeley County, West Virginia Biography of Allen B. NOLL


         Allen B. NOLL was born in Gerardstown District, Berkeley County, West Virginia. He was educated in the rural schools and Martinsburg High School; graduated with honors from West Virginia University, class of 1896, degree LL.B.; began the practice of law in the firm of Flick, Westenhaver & Noll. Mr. Flick died in 1904 and the firm became Westernhaver & Noll. When D.C. Westenhaver moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and became U.S. District Judge of the Northern District of Ohio, Allen B. Noll continued under the firm name of Allen B. Noll, Attorney at Law. He was elected three times to Prosecuting Attorney of Berkeley County, and during the �flu� epidemic at Martinsburg, was appointed Chairman of the Welfare Commission. Although sick, himself, he remained at his post until the ravages of the disease had spent itself. At one time he served as doctor, nurse and undertaker.
