Berkeley County West Virginia Biography of Henry LEFEVRE


         Henry LEFEVRE. son of John and Nancy (Hill) LeFevre, pioneers of Berkeley County, was born in that county October 20, 1822, and died there November 17, 1872. Both of his parents were deceased by 1884, his mother dying in September 1876.

         On November 16, 1847, Henry LeFevre and Catherine A. Dugan, born in Berkeley County October 19, 1831, were married. Her parents, Thomas T. and Margaret (Williamson) Dugan, were also natives of the county; her father died November 17, 1881, and her mother October 23, 1852. Three of Catherine Dugan�s brothers were in the Civil war — Samuel W. Dugan in the Federal army; and John A. and James F. in the Confederate army.

         Henry and Catherine LeFevre had 13 children: Margaret A. LeFevre, March 19, 1849-October 25, 1869; John T. LeFevre, October 28, 1850-?; Mary C. LeFevre, November 20, 1852-February 15, 1856; Ella V. LeFevre Miller, October 27, 1854-?; twins Daniel LeFevre and Isabella LeFevre, July 6, 1857 � Isabella died November 28, 1857; William H. LeFevre, September 4, 1859-?; Ida B. LeFevre, December 20, 1861-?; Denton R.L. LeFevre, September 15, 1864-?; Sally K. LeFevre, September 1, 1866-March 24, 1879; Nancy E. LeFevre, January 20, 1869-?; Charles F. LeFevre, March 23, 1872-?; and Henrietta LeFevre, October 20, 1874-January 10, 1875.

         Mr. LeFevre was a farmer in the Falling Waters district, and his mailing address was Little Georgetown, Berkeley County, West Virginia.
