Berkeley County, West Virginia Biography of David William LEE


         David William Lee, the son of Thomas and Eliza (Parker) Lee, was born in Berkeley County, West Virginia, in 1853. His father, Thomas Lee, served four years in the Civil war, a soldier in the Confederate army.

         On June 8, 1881, he and Anna Marie Belle were married in Martinsburg, Berkeley County. She was born in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia in 1856 and was the daughter of Frank and Biddy (Furny) Belle. Her father, who served four years in the Union army during the war between the States, was deceased by 1884, and her mother was still living in Frederick County.

         David W. Lee was a resident of the Opequon district and was a teacher. His mailing address was Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.
