Isabella Locke was born May 31, 1848, in Clarke County, Virginia, and was the daughter of Benjamin and Rheuamy (Van Cleve) Locke.
Her father died February 2, 1882, at 63. He had moved with his wife to Berkeley County in 1872.
John W. Hinton was a farmer in the Hedgesville District, Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.

John Walter HINTON was the son of James W. and Ellen (Hawkins) Hinton, settlers of Berkeley County in 1879. John Walter married Isabella S. Locke in Berkeley County
and they had two children: Ordell Burkett Hinton, October 11, 1871-?; and Walter B. Hinton, March 9, 1873-?.
