Miss Kerns was born in that county July 11, 1825. John and Catherine Everhart had the following children: Nancy I. Everhart, July 6, 1847-?, married Charles Smith in July 1871; Sarah C. Everhart, September 9, 1848-?, married W.H.
Wheeler February 2, 1864; and Mary J. Everhart, February 12, 1856-October 22, 1856. Charles and Nancy Smith�s children were: James W. Smith, June 28, 1871-?; and Lavina A. Smith, June 14, 1876-?. W.H. and Sarah Wheeler�s children
were: Charles E. Wheeler, May 24, 1867-?; John W. Wheeler, October 24, 1869-?; Joseph H. Wheeler, February 7, 1872; Martha I. Wheeler, May 20, 1874-?; Delilah J. Wheeler, May 7, 1879-?; and Elijah T. Wheeler, April 18, 1883-?.
W.H. Wheeler served two years in the Civil war under General Rhodes.
For several years, John W. Everhart was postmaster at Jones Springs. He was a farmer in the Hedgesville district, Jones Springs, Berkeley County, West Virginia.

John W. EVERHART, the son of Nathan and Sarah (Siler) Everhart, natives of Berkeley County, West Virginia, was born there August 13, 1823. Mr. Everhart�s ancestors came to America from Germany about 1778.
George Everhart, John E.�s grandfather, served in the Revolutionary War under Washington.
