December 18, 1853. Her father was born in Berkeley County on June 18, 1825, and was deceased by 1884; her mother, born April 15, 1803, also in Berkeley County, still lived there in 1884.
Philip and Susan had two daughters: Florence M. Curtis, November 15, 1875-?; and Mary C. Curtis, October 29, 1878-?.
Philip C. Curtis was a miller by trade and received mail at Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.

Philip C. CURTIS was born January 30, 1841, in Berkeley County, son of Jacob and Harriet A. (Chenowith) Curtis, and is of English descent. His great-grandfather,
Samuel Chenowith, was born in Cornwall, England, January 20, 1747, and in 1770 married Patience Cromwell, who died in England. Samuel then emigrated to America and, on October 13, 1785,
in Baltimore, Maryland, married Elizabeth Cromwell, a widow. He died at 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 1847, at the age of 94. His son, Phillip, grandfather of Phillip C., was born in Berkeley
County on January 17, 1774, and married Sarah Lyle in 1798. He died February 20, 1834, in his 60th year. His son, Jacob, father of Phillip C., was born in Berkeley County January 17, 1792, and
married Harriet A. Chenowith on March 19, 1827. His father died March 4, 1854. Harriet was born in Berkeley County on April 15, 1803, and died there April 17, 1865.
