Berkeley County West Virginia Biography of J.A. BLONDEL


         J.A. BLONDEL was a hardware merchant in the city of Martinsburg, doing an extensive business in stoves, tinware, hardware, and the like. He was born in Berkeley County July 21, 1847, the son of Richard A. and Sarah E. (Helfersta) Blondel, also natives of that county.

         On October 16, 1873, in Martinsburg, J.A. Blondel and Clara E. Huber, born January 10, 1853 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, were married. She was the daughter of Risser and Rebecca Huber, who moved to Berkeley County in 1865. J.A. and Clara Blondel had four children: Guy H. Blondel, November 24, 1874-March 1, 1877; Richard L. Blondel, May 10, 1876-?; Meverl C. Blondel, December 28, 1878-?; and Harry M. Blondel, January 5, 1881-?.

         The Blondel family had a mailing address of Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.
