Projects and Publications

• Chapels Project

Borough Charing Cross Road Tabernacl St Benet Jewin

Our current project is to locate the records of the more than 50 Welsh chapels and churches which once existed in London, and to transcribe those which are likely to be of interest to family historians.

Baptisms at Jewin Welsh Chapel are available on CD.

Volume 1 - Jewin Welsh Church baptisms, 1837 to 1920 (LBWFHS2)

Jewin Welsh Chapel (Calvinistic Methodist)

The first Welsh chapel in London was built at Wilderness Row, east of Clerkenwell Green, EC1, moving in 1828 to Jewin Crescent. Rebuilt following wartime bombing at Fann Street (EC1Y 0SA), the chapel is now known as Jewin Welsh Church.

The information on this CD covers baptisms for the period 1837 to 1920.
