Marjorie Mae Hammond Stoehr, age 78 of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, formerly from Shawano, passed away Friday, Oct 15, 2010  at 12:10 a.m. in Bartelsville.

Born June 12, 1932 in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Hollis Almond Hammond and Maude Hazel Ainsworth. Marjorie was the oldest of three children of Hollis and Maude. She grew up working on the family farm. She attended elementary school at Riverside School in Waukechon Township and then junior and senior high school, graduating in 1949 from Shawano High.

She started nursing school in September 1949 at the Mount Sinai Nursing School in Milwaukee. She married Aubrey Orson Stoehr on October 21 1950 at the Lyndhurst LDS Chapel. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and eternity on June 8 1954. Shortly after they married they bought an 80 acre dairy farm in Waukechon Township where they raised their family of six children. Her family was always her first priority. Having earned her LPN degree at Mount Sinai, Marjorie worked for the next 45 years at the Shawano Community Hospital in the Obstetrics and Emergency Department.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served many different callings throughout the years. She and her husband Aubrey served an 18 month mission in 1994-1995. Another of her loves was genealogy. In 1973 she organized and set up the first branch Genealogy Library in Northern Wisconsin. Over the next 35 years she helped supervise and train many workers and patrons alike on how to research their family trees. She also enjoyed reading and gardening.

Aubrey and Marjorie enjoyed traveling to visit their children and grandchildren and loved them to come to Shawano for a visit.

In 2000 when Aubrey and Marjorie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, nearly all 52 family members traveled home to share that special time with them. When Aubrey's health began to decline, they chose to move to Arizona with Linda and her family who could help with his care.
