- According to the 1873 atlas for Rock County, there were nine
rural schools in Turtle Township; the 1917
- atlas for Rock County shows eight rural schools in Turtle
Township (the one in Section 4 in Turtleville was gone). Turtle
Township residents also utilized schools in other townships (Joint
District Schools). One of these includes Clinton
Corners in Clinton Township.
- The location and current status of these school buildings
is given below (using the modern road names).
- The numbers given to each school are mine and not district
numbers.
- I don't know where Dougan,
Maple Lawn and Zilley schools were located.
