OSCAR VERNER PETERSON
World War II
The Medal of Honor was first awarded in 1863 and less than 3,000 medals have been awarded. Only 52 of them have been presented to servicemen from Wisconsin. Prentice native Oscar V. Peterson is the only Price County native to receive the nation's highest military award for bravery.
