* YOU WILL FIND THE LOCATION OF THE STURGEON BAY TOWN/SAMUELSON CEM. ON THE TOWN OF STURGEON BAY MAPS PAGE! *

LOCATION:  0.3 Miles South of the junction of Walnut Street, Shiloh Road and County Trunk U on U to the cemetery which is on the West side of the road.  (In the wooded area on the curve next to the White Birch Inn)  Section 17.

Copied and typed by Sally TREICHEL of the W.S.O.C.S. in 1972.

This cemetery was originally a family cemetery on the Samuelson farm, then turned over to the Town of Sturgeon Bay.  It is now a potters field with 1 stone and 4 metal funeral home markers, only 2 of which are still intact.  Mr. and Mrs. Stanley SAMUELSON of Sturgeon Bay have given additional information concerning the people buried there.  In about 1973 the City Park and Recreation Dept. conducted a search of Funeral Home records, county records and also advertised for additional information.  They were unsuccessful except for the information supplied by the Samuelsons.  The cemetery is in a wooded area, very pleasant but was very overgrown for a cemetery.  The stone and markers are very hard to find unless you know where to look.  The Army Reserve is in the process of cleaning up the cemetery as a public service project.-(1972)

The Samuelson family plot is located near the road next to the lilac bushes, the graves covered by iris.  There was originally a white picket fence around the plot which was burned and never replaced.  It is not known how many family members were buried in this plot.-(1972)**
