OBITUARY: Door County Democrat; Door Co. Library, Sturgeon Bay; Death Of An Old Resident, Louis Robillard, of the town of Gardner, died at his home Wednesday evening at 9:00 o'clock, being in the 89th year of his age. Deceased was born in Canada, January 11, 1819 and was married to Malinda Laviolette, she survives him together with two sons and three daughters, these being Jerry N., of Kewaunee county, Frank; of Gardner, and Mesdames Chas. Claflin, John Hengardnet and Jenkins, of Gardner. Mr. Robillard had a large circle of friends who will greatly miss him as he was a good neighbor and very sociable. He was a member of the church of the Precious Blood, of this town, from which edifice the funeral was held, Rev. J. B. Gauther officating.

OBITUARY: Door County Advocate; Friday, April 2, 1926; Door Co. Library, Sturgeon Bay; MRS. ROBILLARD DIES IN GARDNER, Gardner - Mrs Louis Robillard, 93, oldest resident of this township, died last week Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Gigot. Funeral services were held Monday morning with the Rev. Blackman, of Algoma officiating. A large number attended the final rites, many being grandchildren and great grandchildren of the deceased. Four children survive: Mrs. Henry Gigot, Mrs. Charles Claflin, and Frank Robillard, of this town, and Jerry Robillard, Kewaunee. Mrs. Robillard was born in Canada in 1833 and cmae to this country with her husband about 60 years ago, settling in the southern part of the county. Mr. Robillard died about 18 years ago and Mrs. Robillard has since made her home with her children.

OBITUARY: Door County Advocate; May 4, 1934;; Door County Library, Sturgeon Bay; Mrs. Henry Gigot of Gardner Dies , Gardner - Mrs. Henry Gigot Sr., 82, early resident of this township, died Sunday night at 9:30 at the home of her son, Sylvester Jenquin, from old age complications. She was the widow of the late Antone Jenquin, who died in 1904, and married Mr. Gigot in 1919. Besides the husband, four children survive from her first marriage: Sylvester and Arthur Jenquin, Mrs. Camille Neuville, and Mrs. Henry Lauscher; also one sister, Mrs. Rose Claflin, and two brothers, Frank and Jerry Robillard. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at ten o'clock from the Episcopal church, the Rev. H. W. Blackman of Algoma officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. The son, Arthur, who lives in Oregon, was unable to be present for the funeral.

No Children. She charges cruelty and desertion, listing many incidents of cruelty, two of which caused miscarriages. On 12 Nov. 1878 he went to Michigan, not intending to return. He is believed to be in Grand Haven, Ottawa Co., Michigan. She now lives at Ahnapee, Kewauneee Co. Her parents are John Joseph and Joasine Montquin of Town of Brussels.

JOHN HENGARTNER, Mrs. John Hengartner passed away at the England hospitol on Friday afternoon, January 19, death being the result of strangulated hernia. Mrs. Hengartner had suffered with the rupture for the past four years and on Wednesday last week was taken seriously ill. She was rushed to the hospital for medical aid and attention, but without avail, as she passed away a couple days later. Mrs. Hengartner was born in Canada on March 22, 1860, her maiden name being Anna Robillard. When a child she came to this country with her parents, who located in the town of Gardner. Here in 1882 she was married to John Hengartner, who with five children survive to mourn the lose of a good and faithful wife and kind and loving mother. These are Louis, John, Frank, Mrs. Wesley Moore and Mrs. Jos. O'Boyle. Also her mother, two brothers and two sisters - Frank Robillard of Gradner, and J. N. Robillard of Kewaunee, and Mrs. Anton Jenkins and Mrs. Chas. Claflin of Gardner, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral with their husbands and wives. The funeral was held from St. Josephs church on Monday morning, Rev. A. Broens officiating. The pallbearers were Pat O'Boyle, Archial Forge, August Simpson, Henry Knutson, Frank Mann and Jacob Miller. The death of Mrs. Hengartner was a severe blow to the husband and a shock to the neighbors and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother and kind and sympathetic friend and neighbor and the sympathy of those who knew her in life is extended to the bereaved husband and children.

HENGARTNER DROPS DEAD ON STREET TODAY' Suffering from an acute attack of heart disease, John Hengartner, 76, fell dead in front of the L. M. Washburn store Tuesday shortly after he had attended the board of review meeting at the city hall. About three weeks ago, Mr. Hengartner was taken seriously ill from heart trouble but had apparently recovered to a large extent and was able to be about recently. Mr. Hengartner was born March 25, 1849 in Switerland and came to this country about 1883 settling in Chicago where he became an employee of the Piper Ice company. Later he was employed by the some company at Little Sturgeon where the Pipers shipped much ice during the summer months. In later years Mr. Hengartner settled on a Sevastopol farm in the town of Sturgeon Bay besides also owning ten acres in the city. For the past eleven years he has resided here where he has a home in the First ward. Surviving are Mrs. Wesley Moore, Ellison Bay; John of Sevastopol; Frank at home; and Louis and Mrs. Joseph O' Boyle of this city. The funeral will be held this Friday morning from the Catholic church at 9 o'clock. The Rev. Father Broens will officate.

Robillar Passes, Funeral Rites to Be Held Friday From Holy Rosary Church, KEWAUNEE - Jerry N. Robillard, 67, Kewaunee county's clerk of Circuit court, passed away at his home in this city at 2:15 Wednesday morning. Mr. Robillard had been in failing health for some time, although he was able to come to the court house for a short time last Saturday to attend to some official matters. Funeral services wil be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the Holy Rosary Catholic church in this city and interment will be made at the parish cemetery. The Rev. W. C. Kubale will officiate at the last rites. Members of the county board and county officials are planning to attend the rites in a body. Jerry N. Robillard was born in Ottawa, Can., Aug. 18, 1869. When a child his parents came with him to this state and they settled in the Town of Gardner, Door county, where he grew to manhood. He learned the barber trade at Sturgeon Bay and about 45 years ago came to Kewaunee to follow his trade. After retiring from that work he was employed by the railroad here and in other capacities. In 1932 he was elected as clerk of court and has held the position since, being re-elected in 1934 and again in 1936. He was married Jan. 16, 1893, to Miss Anna Nowak. Fraternally he was affiliated with the Catholic Order of Foresters, and was a member of the Holy Name society. He was active in both organizations. Surviving are his wife, three sons, George C., Luis A., and Norbert, all of this city. Four grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Claflin, Little Sturgeon, also survive.

He had been Assessor-Treasurer of the City of Kewaunee for several years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Catholic Order of Foresters Court 1084 of Kewaunee, Kewaunee Lions Club and Exhauted Rooster of Kewaunee Jaycees. He married Elaine Thibodeau on June 17, 1939 at Kewaunee. He was born Christmas Day, December 25, 1943, in Green Bay, son of Anton and Emerence (LeGrave) Jenquin.Tony was a 1967 graduate of the Marquette School of Engineering. He was a Professional Engineer. Tony was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Sharon (Koleske); daughter, Emily; favorite pet, "Sparky," all of Kaukauna; his parents, Anton and Emerence, Seymour; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Janice Walters, Campbellsport; Yvonne (Hal) Farrey, Jekyll Island, Ga.;Phronsie (Roman) Predrijevac, Menominee Falls; Michelle (Michael) Horner, Franksville; numerous nieces and nephews; very special friends, Fran and Judy Ver Voort, Seymour; John GIles, Appleton: Keith and Maryann Jenquin, Seymour; Robert and Marcella Koleske, Hortonville; Clarence "Pinky" and Katherine Dryden, Black Creek. Tony was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy (Dryden) in 1972; and godfather, Norman Jenquin. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour, with the Rev. Frank Kerscher officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour, and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in his name. Burial at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Black Creek. A Prayer Service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday. OBITUARY: Deaths and Funerals;; Door County Advocate;;; Ted Mickelson, 51, 1110 Young St., Wausau, died Monday, Sept. ( at the Wausau Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Ted was born Nov. 13, 1944, in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Muriel (Trodahl) Mickelson, Sturgeon Bay, and the late Forest Mickelson. He Married Lois LeRoy on Dec 28, 1965, in Sturgeon Bay. She survives. Ted was principal at St. Anne Catholic School, Wausau, and was a teacher and administrator in the La Crosse Diocese for the past 25 years. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed watching his family's activities. He will be greatly missed by everyone, friends and family alike. Survivors besides his mother and wife include three sons, Nathan (Jill) Mickelson, Tomahawk, Luke (Carrie) Mickelson, St. Pt., and Joshua Mickelson, Beloit; four grandchildren, Taylor, Cassidy, Alexander, and Grace Mickelson; two brothers, Tom (Mary) Mickelson, Madison, and bill (Nancy) Mickelson, Fort Washington, MD; and a sister, Marilyn (Wayne) Ostrander, Garden, MI. OBITUARY: ;;;;Mildred Marie "Mickey" Knaapen, 76, 1360 N. 12th Ave., Sturgeon Bay, was called home to Jesus while resting at her home early Wednesday, Sept. 1, after a battle with cancer. Mickey was born April 22, 1923, in Cato, Wis., the daughter of the late Oscar and Beatrice (Neuville) Klenke. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1940. Oct. 18, 1944, she married Bill Knaapen. He preceded her in death Jan. 12, 1996. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, the Befrienders and the church choir. She was also a member of the Door County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Door County Republican Party. She also served on the Sturgeon Bay Housing Authority in the 1970s and 1980s. Mickey loved her grandchildren, traveling, knitting, the color purple, and chocolate. She will be greatly missed by her children, six daughters, Jane (Dick) Cole, DePere, Lynn (Bob) Jacklevich, San Francisco, Calif., Bea Knaapen, Fresno, Calif., Julie (Russ) Rothenfluh, Bolingbrook, Ill., Willa Knaapen, Appleton, Laura Knaapen, Oshkosh; three sons, Joe (Laura), Sturgeon Bay, Tony (Lori), Walnut Creek, Calif., and David (Terri), Portage; 18 grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Zettel and one brother, Don (Carol) Klenke, Green Bay; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was retired from Knaapen's Bakery and the U.S. Post Office. Mr Knaapen was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 1088, Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the famous Knaapen's Bakery basketball team in the 1930s and '40s. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Sturgeon Bay; step-mother, Grace Knaapen, Sturgeon Bay, Sturgeon Bay; three sons and daughter-in-law, Joe (Joanne), Sturgeon Bay; Tony (Lori), Walnut Creek, Ca; and David (Terri), Portage; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Jane (Dick) Cole, De Pere; Lynn (Bob) Jacklevich, San Francisco, CA; Bea Knaapen, Fresno, Ca; Julie (Russ) Rothenfluh, Bolingbrook, IL; Willa Knaapen, Appleton; and Laura Knaapen, Oshkosh; and 13 grandchildren.
