by Mary GROTA
PGS MEETING- 26 Mar 2015

A History of the Scots-Irish and their effect on the cultural development in America was the subject of a talk given by Mary Grota on March 26th. She told of a large number of Scots immigrating to northern Ireland where they lived for a century or so before then leaving for America. The Scots-Irish were almost totally Scottish as when they lived in Ireland they tended to not inter-marry with the Irish Catholics.
