Next PGS Meeting: Thurs. 24 Sep 2015 -7 p.m., LDS Church, 18th Ave. and Florida St.
PGS Meetings are held at 7pm, unless otherwise stated, on the 4th Thursday ( each month except for December/July/August) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel (LDS chapel) on 18th and Florida in Sturgeon Bay WI unless otherwise specified. Anyone is invited to meetings which usually start with a business meeting followed by a Program or Workshop. Refreshments are served.
A person may attend three (3) meetings as a non-member of the Society after which payment of membership dues is required. 28 Oct 2010 - BRING YOUR FAMILY FOR THE PGS WEBSITE!-LDS Chapel-was a successful meeting!: PGS Members: Steve JOHNSON, John ELLENBECKER, Myrle WELHAVEN, Mary and Lee GROTA, and Ginny HAEN brought pictures that were scanned and info regarding them was taken down so they can added to the PGS Website. Also, the PGS Bylaws were further revised with voting to be taken on the new PGS Bylaws at the November 18th meeting.

Sue HOHNEKE gave a presentation on the "PIONEER EXPERIENCE- Leaving the Homeland and settling in the U.S. and how to begin your family history" The PGS members will each have displays with their family research on an individual/family's immigration to the U.S. and their settlement here.

Jul and Aug-Summer 2009: PGS Cemetery Group will be working transcribing and taking digital photos of stones (Town of Nasewaupee-Schumacher/Town of Nasewaupee Cemetery, Town of Sturgeon Bay-Shiloh Moravian Cemetery, and if time allows-Town of Sturgeon Bay-Mount Olive Cemetery. 28 May 2009: 7 p.m.-LDS Chapel: PGS Cemetery Group planning session for our upcoming 2009 Cemetery Summer Project went well with a presentation about what we had learned from our 2008 Cemetery Project at Town of Sevastopol-St. Joseph Cemetery. This year's summer cemetery project will be at Schumacher/Town of Nasewaupee Cemetery, Town of Sturgeon Bay-Shiloh Cemetery, and if time allows-Town of Sturgeon Bay-Mount Olive Cemetery. We will be transcribing and taking digital pictures of stones.
23 Apr 2009: A video of Sturgeon Bay's effort in shipbuilding during World War II: "A Job Well Done" and a short video of the Cherry Industry in Door County will be shown after our business meeting.
26 Mar 2009: 7 p.m.-LDS Chapel: Laura KAYACAN (new Adult Librarian at the Door County Library) gave a wonderful PowerPoint program on her own Family-some of whom have been in the Brown County WI area since 1840.

22 Jan 2009: 6:30 p.m.: PGS Work Meeting at the Door County Library Laurie History Room where the members worked at locating what books/resources are where in the Laurie Room. This project was carried out to create a "MAP OF THE LAURIE ROOM" which will be made available for researchers in the Laurie History Room of the Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay and also on the DOOR COUNTY LIBRARY-LAURIE ROOM web page on our PGS Website. Everyone worked hard and we got all the bookcases covered! Then we had fun and refreshments at Mickey-D's afterwards!
