Luke Sullivan

I started researching my family history four years ago. I was determined to find specific information regarding my grandfather's (Luke Sullivan) origins. I knew that he had been an orphan train rider sometime between 1884 and 1895. He had been taken from the train by the Sullivan family. I had always thought that he had gotten off the train in Lawler, Iowa, but now I feel he may have gotten off in or around Boscobel, Wisconsin. His marriage certificate indicates that he was born in New York in 1884. It lists his parents as John and Ann Sullivan. John had been a blacksmith in Highland, Wisconsin since at least 1860. Grandfather Luke was living with John's son Patrick in Lawler, Iowa by 1895. To the best of my knowledge, he was never adopted. I think he just took the Sullivan name. I have not been able to find anything new about my grandfather. I have contacted the New York Foundling Home and the New York Children's Aid Society, checked census records at those institutions, posted messages on message boards, etc., all to no avail so far.
