Tom Barcom  Nov, 25, 1997

My father, Lester T. Barcom was born in Tomahawk on Sept 11, 1903. His father's name was Henry Barcom (he was born in 1874 in Tomahawk)and I think that Henry's father's name was also Henry and that he possibly came to Wisconsin from Canada, and maybe to Canada from France. The elder Henry  had three children that I am aware of, Henry, Sylvia, and I believe Ida.  Ida was married to a man named Miller, and they lived in Tomahawk all their lives.  They had a son named Clifford who had a furniture in Merrill.  Does anyone have any information on the family?

Lee Zeitelhack Mon Jan 13 17:50:12 1997

ZEITELHACK & STENGEL - My G Grandparents, Wolfgang and Margarethe Stengel Zeitelhack, moved around quite a bit. Both were originally from Bavaria and immigrated toJefferson Co., Wisconsin in the 1860s. They married there but moved to Taylor Co. in the late 1880s or very early 1890s. My G Uncle, Leo Zeitelhack, was born there. The names of the children were Margaret, Barbara, Otto, Erhart(my Grandfather), John, Helen, and Leo. Barbara was married to Ludwig(Louis)Seebauer and lived near Rib Lake. My GG Grandmother, Regina Zeitelhack, who was widowed, lived with Wolf and Margarethe Zeitelhack. The Seebauers lostseveral children at birth or in infancy. The whole family seems to have moved to the Prentice area around the turn of the century. Johnny Zeitelhack died as a boy and was buried at the Prentice Cemetery. The Price County death records list the last name as "Seidlock". Regina died in 1903 at the age of 88 and was also buried at Prentice. One of the Seebauer children is buried there too. The family moved to Oneida and then Lincoln Co., finally settling at Tomahawk. My Grandparents, Erhart J. Zeitelhack and Lillian G. Buslett (a country school teacher raised atCassian) were married in Rhinelander in 1914 and soon settled at Tomahawk too. My Aunt, Margaret E. Zeitelhack Brady, and my father, Ward H. Zeitelhack, were born and raised there.

One of the problems for me is that there are no markers for Regina, Johnny and the Seebauer child at the Prentice Cemetery , so I haven't been able to locate the graves. When I visited the cemetery many years ago, I noted that many graves are unmarked and that many others have wooden cross markers. I was later told that a fire destroyed many of the markers. My inquiries thus far have found no records for my people among the remaining cemetery records. My question is, does anyone know where I might be able to find out the location of these graves. I would also be interested in any information available about the Zeitelhack family in any of its many locations. I have extensive records going back to Bavaria in the 1600s for the Zeitelhack and Stengel lines, but much of their history in Wisconsin is a mystery. I would be glad to share information and hope to hear from anyone interested soon.
