Mailing Lists

For those who are unfamiliar with the Rootsweb mailing lists, here is a brief explanation. A mailing list is nothing more than a group of people (commonly called subscribers), who can send an email to one address and everyone in the mailing group will receive that email. This is called "posting" a message to the list. There are lots of different types of mailing lists, but the two most popular types available through Rootsweb are the location mailing lists and the surname mailing lists. There is no charge to anyone who belongs to the mailing list and there are no restrictions on how long you must be subscribed. Currently, the Wilburn mailing list has almost 100 subscribers with more subscribing daily!

To subscribe to the Wilburn-L mailing list, just send an email to [email protected] with the word "subscribe" in the body (without the quotation marks). To unsubscribe, send an email to the same address with the word "unsubscribe" in the body (without the quotation marks). Once you are a subscriber, you can "post" a message to everyone in the group by sending it to [email protected].

Sorry, only subscribers can send messages to the list.
