January 27, 2004

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2003, by President Anita Palmquist. Visitors were welcomed

Officer Reports

Secretary Greg Filbeck read the minutes of the November 23, 2003 meeting. The minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer Allen Nelson read the treasurer’s report. The beginning balance on hand as of November 25, 2003 was $628.65 with receipts of $510.87 and disbursements of $696.01, leaving a balance on hand as of January 27, 2004 of $443.51.

Allen Nelson mentioned to the membership that a $400 bill was still outstanding and that prompt payment of 2004 dues would be appreciated.

Greg Filbeck read a letter of inquiry from Wanda Marquardt, along with two workshop announcements from the Fronderlog of America (August 4-7 in Rochester) and Insights to Your German Past (July 10, 2004 in Whitewater).

Committee Reports

Archives

Anita Doering reported that a photo identification gathering would take place March 7 from 2 – 4pm at the library. Help is still needed in the archives for recording obituary information.

Programs

Susan Douglas announced the Marilyn Hassel would be the guest speaker this evening. A brainstorming session followed for future programs. Input include the following: organizing your records, how to research beyond our country’s borders, dead-ends, name changes, computer software packages, and Luxemburg.

Anita Palmquist conducted elections for the 2004-2006 term. The following slate of officers were elected by acclamation:
