La Crosse Area Genealogical Society

January 28, 2003

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2003, by President Anita Palmquist.

Secretary Greg Filbeck read the minutes of the November 26, 2002 meeting. The minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer Allen Nelson read the treasurer’s report. The beginning balance on hand as of November 26, 2002 was $1,414.45 with receipts of $94.20 and disbursements of $409.21, leaving a balance on hand as of January 28, 2003 of $1,099.44. Allen Nelson also read correspondence.

Anita Doering announced she would have a list available next month of requests from the library. She has put together a list of all periodicals (approximately 100) that we receive. This list will be published in the Quarterly

The newsletters were mailed out within the past week. The Quarterly will be forthcoming.

Susan Douglas announced that Mary Ann Rossler will speak at our February meeting (the 25^th) on her Family History Book and on her travels to Germany to some of the old homesteads. In March (25^th), Kenneth Bernstein of "River City Image Works" will discuss refurbishing and reprinting old photos.

The nominating committee submitted the following candidates for consideration for the 2003-2005 term: Vice President, Terry Micks; Treasurer, Allen Nelson. No further nominations were presented from the floor. Greg Filbeck moved to accept Terry Micks as our Vice-President and Allen Nelson as our Treasurer. The motion carried.

Christine Stolz and Anita Doering of the La Crosse Public Library Arhives did a presentation on "Ancestry Plus," a genealogical internet service.

The business portion of the meeting adjourned at 7:22pm.
