Committee Reports
Archives
- Anita Doering announced that the Footnote database is not worth the price. She recommends everyone trying it at home for the free resources offered.
- Anita reminded us that the Archives does have maps related to places in Europe for those who are planning to go there for research.
- LDS reels cost the library $5.50 each, and they stay for a month. If you order them your name is not released. LAGS will possibly make a donation to help cover the cost of ordering the reels.
Quarterly
- The quarterly is not out yet, because Jonna is not able to work more than a couple days per week. Her fundraiser made over $4,000 which goes toward her medical expenses.
Programs
- Either the February or March 2009 program will be on websites.
- Watch the LAGS website for more information.
Website
- There are no updates to report.
Unfinished Business
- Yearly dues of $20 are now due. Reminders will be sent to those not paid by March.
- The Beginners Brochure is now in progress.
New Business
- Dennis Kuennen and Roxanne Munns volunteered to be on the Nominating Committee for the Election to be held at the February 2009 meeting.
- Betsy Richardson volunteered to bring treats for February, and Al Nelson will bring more spoons and small plates to restock the supplies.
- Terry Micks urged us all to think about how we could do more work on cemeteries in the coming year, since there is a real need for this.
Program
Susan Douglas told us about her trip to Pomerania in April & May of 2007. The stubborn Germans made her journey quite interesting. Thank you Susan for the information and the great personal story that went with it!
Adjournment
The business portion of the meeting adjourned at 8:53pm. Everyone brought Ethnic Treats which we enjoyed after the program. Thank you everyone!
Respectfully submitted,
Joyce Krueger, Secretary
