OLSEN, Gunder, Guro, Lars, Gabriel, Nels and Ole (see below) Norway

  P. 48 of the book: "Juneau County, The First 100 Years" it states: The first Norwegian settlers came to what was called "Church Valley" in the early 1850s. -- are remembered as the first Norwegian family in the valley.
This is the family of Gunder Olsen, wife Guro Nilsdatter, sons, Lars, Gabriel, Nels and Ole (my g-grandfather). They had 2 more children. The children took the last name of Gunderson. The original farm was in the family until 1979.
Other early Juneau County immigrants are mentioned in "The American Descendants of Nils Nilsson Overland and Gunne Larsdatter Nistov", a family history work that was given to the Juneau County Genealogy Society.
