SAGE
HORSE TAMING - We had the pleasure, on Monday last, of seeing MR. SAGE, of
this village, tame a vicious horse, belong to the Wisconsin Stage Co. The
horse was a valuable one, and his principal fault was that he would allow
no one to handle his feet, and in order to shoe him it has been necessary
to cast him. Mr. Sage put him through a course of the Rarey system of training,
and after a severe struggle of several hours, the animal was subdued, and
submitted to be shod as quietly as any horse we ever saw. Mr. Sage has tamed
about fifty horses, before this; among the number, one for Sheriff HYDE of
this place but he says this was the most stubborn animal he has ever encountered.
