KNUTSON
My mother asked me to find out what I could online relating to where her
ancestors: Knut and Anna (Grove) Knutson might be buried. Knut was born in
1796 in Roldal, Norway. Anna Grove was born in 1800 also in Roldal. They
came to America in 1864. Mauston, Lisbon, Benoit Wisconsin are some places
they are known to have been. Their children mostly lived around Mauston,
WI. We think they came first to Benoit. Children were: Ingeborg (1829) m.
Lars Artun; Haakon (1822) m. Kari Nilson; Odd(1824) m. Metta; Anna (1826);
Nils (1836) m. Margarete Meland; Knut (1836) m.Gertrude Hara; Tore K.(1839)
Do you have any information on any of these Knutsons? I would most appreciate
any links or directions you could point me. Thanks so much.

TUCKER
Searching for George Henry TUCKER. He was a photographer living in Mauston
around 1880 where his son, Franklin, my grandfather, was born 1880-81. GHT
left for Kansas around 1886. His parents, whose names I don't have , but
would like too, evidently lived in Milwaukee, where GHT was raised after
being born in St. Lawrence county, NY, in 1854. There also seems to be an
unconfirmed connection to CLAFTON, which may be GHT's mother's maiden name.
Appreciate any help; my gggrandparents names and history have eluded
several people who have been looking. My e-mail address is: [email protected].

He died Oct 16, 1897. John was married to Mary Ann Pierce Smith. He came
from NY, where he was born.
My g grandfather Benjamin L. Smith was born in New Lisbon, Juneau Co., WI,
March 20, 1860. I have the family 1860 US Census living in Fountain, Juneau.
Mary Ann PIERCE brother, John B. PIERCE also lived in Fountain, Juneau
Co.
Benjamin L. SMITH married Caroline M. HANSON, b: April 9, 1867,
Crawford Co., Soldiers Grove, according to an obituary I have. They were
married (Ben and Carrie) Sept. 19, 1885, again according to Carrie's obit,
in New Lisbon, WI. Carrie's parents, Jens Andreas HANSON and Gunhild Bjoerkholdt
VOGEN both of Norway (I think!).

In the GLO WI land record CD, I find that my ggf, Traverse SEXTON
acquired 134.56 acres in Sec 31 Twp 14N Range 4E on 01/06/1858. Can anyone
tell me where in the county that is? I have not figured out how to print
the maps or the documents from the CD.Secondly, is there anyone out there
who might do a lookup of Traverse as Grantor and as Grantee in that area.
I would like to find out exactly where that land is, from whom he purchased
it, and to whom he sold it and when. I'll be happy to reimburse for time
and materials. Thanks in advance.
